Janus Tube Placement

The Janus is shipped with the tubes removed in order to avoid shipping damage.  This guide will assist in the 
placement of each tube. 
 
It is important to note that all of the tubes are matched and t herefore each tube must be inserted into its proper socket, 
which is indicated on the outside of the tube box. 
 
The format is as follows, using one specific tube as an example:  
 “V1L Out”, where:  
V is the designator for a tube.   
1 is the numerical reference designator. 
L means that it is to be installed in the left channel 
Out refers to which board the tube is to be installed in.  
Since the Janus has 2 boards for each channel, there will  be 2 V1’s and 2 V2’s.  Marking the board name on the tube 
box ensures that the correct V1 gets install ed into the Out board versus the phono board. 
 
When looking at the pins of each tube, note that they are  all evenly spaced apart except in one place where there is a 
larger gap.  This gap is to assist in aligning the tube in it’s socket correctly. 
 
The following diagram shows all 4 boards and the positioning for each tube.
