    paper	that	is	different	from	what	is	in	the	paper	cassette.

    manual feed slot.

     NOTE
    When loading paper with a letterhead or logo

    2 Support the p\fper with your h\fnds \fs shown in 
    the figure, \fnd insert the p\fper until it touches 
    the b\fck of the tr\fy.
    When the \ba\ber touches the back of \Ithe tray, it is caught by the 
    slot.
    Only one sheet of t\Ihe \ba\ber can be load\Ied in the manual feed slot.

    When loading envelopes

    Precautions when Loading Paper

    Be sure to align the paper guides securely against the 
    edges of the paper.
    If the \ba\ber guides a\Ire too loose or too tight, this may result in 
    misfeeds or \ba\ber jams.
    When using paper that has been poorly cut
    If you use \ba\ber that ha\Is been \boorly cut, multi\ble shee\Its of \ba\ber 
    may be fed at once. In this case, fan the \ba\ber tho\Iroughly, and then 
    align the edges of the\I stack \bro\berly on a hard, flat surface.
    Do not exceed the load li\fit \R\fark when loading pap\Rer.
    Make sure that the \ba\ber st\Iack does not exceed the line of th\Ie load 
    limit mark. If the \ba\ber stack e\Ixceeds the load limi\It mark lines, this 
    may result in misfeeds.
    When printing on envelopes
    Load envelo\bes with the front side (non-glued side) facing \Iu\b. You 
    cannot \brint on the reverse side of envelo\bes.
    Also, be sure to close the fla\b bef\Iore loading envelo\bes.

    the	paper	size	and	type	settings	for	the	cassette	and	the	tray.

    Specify	whether	to	print	only	on	the	front	side	of	paper	for	
    1-sided	printing	so	that	the	odd	pages	are	always	printed	on	
    the	front	side	for	\foth	1-sided	and	2-sided	printing.
    The	print	side	for	1-sided	printing	varies	depending	on	the	
    setting	specified.	To	use	preprinted	paper,	read	
    	“Paper	
    Loading 	Orientation” 	( → P.2-15) 	carefully 	to 	place 	the 	paper 	stack 	in	
    the	correct	orientation.
