This product does not contain customer serviceable components. If your product operates on batteriesAdhere to the following precautions: A. Any battery may leak electrolyte if mixed with a different battery type, if inserted incorrectly, or if all batteries are not replaced at the same time. B. Any battery may leak electrolyte or explode if disposed of in fire or an attempt is made to charge a battery not intended to be recharged. C. Discard leaky batteries immediately. Headset safetyTo use a headset safely, please keep the following in mind: • Do not play your headset at a high volume. It may cause a traffic hazard and is illegal in many areas. • Even if your headset is an open-air type designed to let you hear outside sounds, don’t turn up the volume so high that can’t hear sounds around you. Getting started Unpacking the CD playerYou should have the following: • CD player • Earphones • User manual (this leaflet) Inserting batteries Using the CD player Controls 1. Press and slide the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the player to unlock it. 2. Open the cover. Insert 2x AA batteries (not supplied), following the polarity markers inside the compartment. Connecting an AC adapter or car adapter (not supplied)You can power the player with an AC power adapter or car adapter (4.5V DC). • Plug the adapter into the DC socket on the side of the player. • Disconnect the power adapter from the player to use battery power. Limited warranty (US) 1. play/pause button - Turns on the unit, starts or pauses CD playback. 2. stop button - Turns the unit off/stops CD playback. 3. - Selects music modes (EQ). 4. p button - Enters program mode. 5. m button - Selects playmode. 6. button - Skips/searches backward a track. 7. button - Skips/searches forward a track. 8. CD/OFF / RADIO switch - Selects CD mode or turns on/off radio. 9. DC jack - Connect with a power adapter for indoor use. 10. headphone jack - Insert your headphone here. 11. Volume control - Adjust the volume (“+“ to increase and “-“ to decrease volume). 12. OPEN switch - Slide to open CD door. 13. control - Tunes frequency in radio mode. 14. DBBS ON/OFF switch - Bass boost on/off. 15. HOLD switch - Lock/unlock the controls. Playing a CD1. Slide the OPEN switch to the right to open the CD door. 2. Place the CD on the spindle and press gently to lock the disc in place. 3. Close the CD door. 4. Slide the CD/OFF / RADIO switch to CD/OFF position. 5. Press . The player displays “ - - ” while it reads the CD, then it starts playing the first track. • To skip to the next track, press . • To s k i p t o t h e s t a r t o f t h e t r a c k , p r e s s . Pr e s s a g a i n t o s k i p t o t h e previous track. • To fast forward or reverse, press and hold or . • To pause/resume playback, press . (The player turns off automatically after 30 seconds when stopped.) Programming a playlistYou can program a playlist of up to 20 tracks: 1. While the player is stopped, press p. The first program location “01” appears on the display while “PGM” and the track number flash. 2. Press or to choose the first track. 3. Press p to store the track in the “01” location. The display shows “02”. 4. Repeat steps 1 – 3 to add more tracks to the playlist. 5. Press to start playback. Exit Program modeTo exit program mode, press .Press p to enter program mode again. Cancel ProgramProgram will be cancelled when you change the disc or turn off the unit. Locking the controlsTo prevent the controls from operating accidentally, slide the HOLD switch to the position. Lock icon will show on the display when the buttons are locked. Display More information Notes on use• Use a soft cloth or damp chamois leather to clean the player. Never use solvents. • Avoid leaving the CD door open, as dust can impair performance. • Do not touch the laser pickup lens. • Do not put adhesive tape or labels on your CDs. These can cause playback problems or damage the player. • Playback performance for CD-R/RW discs may vary due to variations in disc quality and the recorder used to create the disc. • Do not open the CD door while the disc is spinning, as this may damage the disc. 1.
