*Note: Begin taking temperature within 15 seconds after thermometer enters test mode.
    3. Position thermometer in desired location (mouth, rectum, or armpit) as directed below.
         a) Oral Use: To ensure accuracy, please keep mouth closed for 5 minutes before
testing. Place thermometer under tongue — recommended probe position is
indicated by “ √ ” shown in Figure 2. Readings are obtained in ~ 60 seconds.
         b) Rectal Use: Lubricate silver probe tip with petroleum jelly for easy insertion.
Gently insert probe ~ 1cm (less than 0.5 inch ) into rectum. Readings are

    4. The °F sign flashes throughout the testing process. When flashing stops, usually within
30~60 seconds, an alarm beeps for ~ 10 seconds and the measured reading simultaneously
         displays.
    5. To prolong battery life, press the On/Off Button to turn the unit off after testing is complete.
If no action is taken, the unit will automatically shut off after ~10 minutes.

temperature reaches 100 ° F or higher. When this occurs, the beeps will be
                 “ Bi-Bi-Bi----- Bi-Bi-Bi------- Bi-Bi-Bi ” . If room temperature is higher than 90 ° F
b e f o r e testing, the LCD will display the actual room temperature instead of “Lo”.
