    Note:Make sure that the capacity of the target  hard disk is 
    equ al or  larger  than  the so urce hard di sk.  
    For  exampl e, on  the  label  of the  hard  drives, it might  identify bo th 
    drives as 80GB but the actual size differs. And when this type of 
    drives are  used on the HDD  duplicator, w hen you start 
    dup licati ng, you wi ll rec eive a “Target Not Ready” error.  To 
    resolve  this issue,  you n eed to  decrease the drive  size of the 
    source dr ive. To do  this,  navigate  to: 6.Setup > 6.2Copy  Size and 
    use  the bu tton arrows  to decr ease  the drive  size of the  sour ce 
    drive by increm ents of 1%.
    I.  Installing drive into the HDD Duplicator  For installin g a h ard drive o n the vari ous enclosures th at 
    come wi t
    h  th
    e HDD duplicator, refer to the bundled 
    enclosure installation  guides. 
    Step  1 
    Once  the hard  drive  is installed  on the  drive  enclosure,  slide in 
    the Source drive  into the  drive ba y. Push  down t he hand le and 
    using  the key provid ed, turn the key  lock to the  Lock  position. 
    Th is w ill secure  the drive and  turn on the power  to the  hard  drive. 
    Step  2 
    Slide  in the  Target drive  into  the  drive ba y. Push down  the 
    han dle and usi ng the key provided,  turn the key lo ck to the  Lock 
    positi on. Th is will secu re the dr ive and turn  on the power to  the 
    hard dr ive. 
    II.  Connecting  the power  cable a nd power ing on 
    a.  Connect  the power  cord provided from
     the
     wall outlet to the 
    back of the tower. 
    b.  A main power switch is located at the back o f the tower. Turn 
    the switch on. Another  auxiliary switch is located on the front 
    of the tower. 
    c.  Push the  auxiliary switch button to turn on the HDD 
    duplicator. 
    III.  The Duplicator Panel  T here  are four  buttons a nd an LCD on the pa nel of HDD 
    Duplicator. 
    1 –  LCD shows a  function or a message. 
    2 – it is used to scroll up function menus. 
    3 – it is used to scroll down function menus. 
    4 –  it is  used to  execute a  function. 
    5 – it is used to cancel a function.

    IV.  Duplicating a drive 
    When the duplicator powers on, it  initializes and go es through  the 
    steps  below 
    Shows the firmware version  Initialize SDRAMs status..
    Detect Drives  status.    Shows the first function:  
    Copy HDD copies data di rectly from the source hard disk  to the 
    target hard disk. 
    Press  ENT button  to begin copy. T he system wi ll aut o-detect  the 
    hard disks and show the following info on the LCD. 
    T he  LCD wi ll show  the followi ng info duri ng the  copying  process: 
    remaining  time, completed  percentage. The copy  speed, ca pacity 
    and  time wi ll vary depending  on the so urce hard di sk. Once  the 
    copyi ng process  is complete t he LCD will  display the followi ng

    Functions
    The copy controller has  11 functi ons in total , with t he 11th (Adv Set up) being a hid den system function that  only appears when the  ESC key is pressed for 2 seconds until there is a  beep. These are shown below.

    Copy HDD
    Copy  HDD copies data directly from  the source  hard disk t o the t arget  hard disk. Pl ease make sure that the capacity of  the target hard disk is equal or larger t han the source  hard disk. 
    Choose option 1 from  the m enu: 
    Press  ENT to  begin copy. The system w ill auto-detect the hard di
    sks and show  the fo llowing copying info on t he LCD. 
    The LCD w ill show the follo wing info during the copyin
    g process: elapsed time, completed percentage. The copy speed, capacity and time wi ll vary depending on the source hard disk. Once the copying process is complete the LCD will display the following results.

    Async Copy HDD
    This option is used to specify the size of the source for simplifying fu\
    rther copying operations.
    Choose option 2 from the me nu:

    Press  ENT. Before the start of t he reproduction, if t he console  detects that a  hard drive 
    capacity is less t han source, then the LCD will show t he cor
    responding channel number.

    Compare HDD is used to see if  the data on a source hard disk is i dentical to the target hard disk after the C opy HD operation.

    3. Compare HDD     
    HDD: 11      232.9GB 
    Press  ENT to  begin  the comparison. The L CD will display  the fol lowing info.

    Once t he comparison is complete  the LCD wi ll display  t he following info as well as t he amount of 
    data  on the source  hard disk.

    PreScan S ourcePreScan HDD is used to check if the source hard disk can be accessed pro\
    perly.
    It also tests the read speed.
    Choose option 5 from  the m enu:

    Async Compare
    Compare HDD is used to see if the data on a source hard disk is identica\
    l to the
    target hard disk after the Copy HDD operation. While compare process is
    on-going, allows you to plug-in additional target drives and comparison \
    will
    automatically start for the added target drive.
    Choose option 4 from the me nu:

     to  begin  the async comparison. The L CD will display the fo llowing info.

    6. ReScan BUS

    Choose  option 6 from t he menu: 
    Press  ENT to re-scan hardware. The LCD wi ll display the follo
    wing info.

    7. S ource Size        
    Source Size
    Source Size is used to show the capacity of the source.  
    Ch oose option 7 from  the m enu: 
    Press  ENT and  the L CD w ill show the fo llowing info. 
    HDD:Hitachi
    Size: 232.9GB         
    Then press  ENT and the L CD w ill show the  datas size info.

    Data: 200.9GB        
    8. Secure Erase    
    Secure Erase
    Secure Erase is used to wi pe the data of  the hard disk,  it will erase a ll of HDD of dup licator (included Source  HDD). 
    Ch oose option 8 from  the m enu:
    Press  ENT to access  option. By default it is set  to No . Use  the Up 
    and Down arrow keys t o choose Yes.
    Wipe a ll data.
    Conti nue? No        
    Press  ENT and  the L CD w ill show the fo llowing info. 
    ReScan Bus allows swapping the source or target in and out without having to
    reboot the system.

    10. Setup              
    SetupSetup allows various system settings to be changed. There are 12 sub-opt\
    ions:
    Language, Copy Size, Startup Menu, Auto Compare, Button Sound, Device In\
    fo,
    System Info, Fast Copy, Auto Start Drive, Auto Start Timer, Tolerance Si\
    ze and
    Boot Time Delay.

    9. Overwrite         
    Overwrite
    Overwrite is used to overwrite  the  data of the  hard disk, it will erase a ll HDDs connected to the  duplicator 
    (includ ing Source  HDD). There are 3 sub-options:  One pass, 3 pass  and 7 pass.
    Ch oose option 9 from  the m enu:
    Press  ENT to access option. By  default it is O ne pass Use the  Up a nd Down arrow keys to ch oose 
    other options.

    10-02. Setup
    Copy Size               
    Press  ENT and the LCD will display a deta iled list of opti ons as shown  below
    Use the Up  and Down arrow keys t o choose dierent copy si zes.  The system w ill oer their 
    corresponding  percentages so the user can specify t he amount  to copy from  the source hard disk. 
    Press  ENT to confrm  and save the changes.
    C opy Size

    Startup Menu
    This opti on allows you to set an opti on other than Se tup to be display ed as the frst ava ilable 
    opti on on t he m enu every time you star t the system.

    m enu option is Copy  HDD.

    operation is completed.
    Press  ENT to access  option. By default it is set to O. Use th e Up  and Down arrow keys to choose
