USER CONTROLS
IMAGEII (VIDEO MODE)
Degamma
This allows you to choose a degamma table that has been finetuned
to bring out the best image quality for the input.
Saturation
Adjusts a video image from black and white to fully saturated colour.
Press the  to decrease the amount of colour in the image.
Press the  to increase the amount of colour in the image.
Tint
Adjusts the color balance of r ed and green.
Press the  to increase the amount of green in the image.
Press the  to increase the amount of red in the image.
Sharpness 
Adjusts the sharpness of the image.
Press the  to decrease the sharpness.
Press the  to increase the sharpness.
Aspect Ratio 
Use this function to choose your desired aspect ratio.
4:3 : The input sour ce will be scaled to fit the projection screen.
16:9 : The input source will be scaled to fit the width of the screen.
Window: When a 4:3 image is bigger than a 16:9 screen, select the “Wi\
ndow”
mode to fit the image onto the screen without changing the projection di\
stance. 
16:9 Image Position
Adjust the image position to up or down, when you select the
aspect ratio to 16:9. 
Press the  to move the image down.
Press the  to move the image up.

MANAGEMENT
Menu Location
Choose the Menu location on the display screen.
Projection
FrontDesktop The factory default setting.
Rear
Desktop When you select this function, the projector reverses
the image so you can project behind a 
translucent scr een.
FrontCeiling When you select this function, the pr ojector turns the
image upside down for ceilingmounted projection.
RearCeiling When you select this function, the projector reverses and turns the image upside down at same time. You
can project from behind a translucent screen with
ceiling mounted projection.
Signal Type
Select signal type RGB or V ideo sources.
Sour
ce Lock
When source lock is turned off, the projector will search for other
signals if the current input signal is lost. When source lock is turned
on, it willl continue to search for the “lost signal” after “So\
urce “ is
pressed.
High Altitude
Choose “ON” to tur n on High Altitude mode, this operates the fans at
full speed continuously to allow for proper high altitude cooling of
the projector.
Reset
Choose “Yes” to return the display parameters on all menus to
the factor y default settings.

Computer / Video Mode
LAMP SETTING
Lamp Hour
Displays the lamp’s elapsed operating time (in hours).
Lamp Reset
Turns the lamp hour counter to 0 hours.
Lamp Reminding
Choose this function to show or to hide the warning message when
the changing lamp message is displayed. The message will show up
30 hours before end of life.
ECO Mode
Choose “On” to dim the projector lamp which will lower power
consumption and extend the lamp life by up to 130%. Choose ”Off”
to return to normal mode.
Auto Power Off
Set the interval of power off the system if there is no signal input.

TROUBLESHOOTING
If you experience tr
ouble with the projector, refer to
the following information. If the problem persists, please
contact your local reseller or service centre.
PROBLEM No image appears on the screen
Ensure all the cables and power connections are correctly and
securely connected as described in the “Installation” section.
Ensure the pins of connectors are not crooked or broken.
Check if the projection lamp has been securely installed. 
Please refer to the “Replacing the lamp” section.
Make sur e you have removed the lens cap and 
the projector is switched on.
Ensure that the “Hide” feature is not enabled.
PROBLEM Partial, scrolling or incorrectly displayed image
Press the “ReSync” button on the Remote Control or the Control Panel.
If you use a PC:
If the resolution of your computer is higher than 1024 x 768.
Follow the steps outlined below to r eset the resolution.
For Windows 3.x:

In the Windows Program Manager, click the 
“W indows Setup” icon in the Main gr oup.
2Verify that your display r esolution setting is 
less than or equal to 1024 x 768.
For Windows 95,98,2000,XP:
1
Open “My Computer” icon, the “Control Panel” folder, 
and then double click on the “Display” icon.
2Select the “Setting” tab.
3In the “Desktop Ar ea” you will find the r esolution setting. Verify that the
resolution setting is less than or equal to 1024 x 768 resolution.
If the pr ojector is still not pr ojecting the whole image, you will also need to
change the monitor display you are using. Refer to the following steps.
4Follow the above steps 12. Click on the “Advanced Pr operties” button.
5Select the “Change” button under the “Monitor” tab .
6Click on “Show all devices”. Then select “Standard monitor
types” under the “Manufacturers” box ; choose the 
resolution mode you need under the “Models” box.
7Verify that the resolution setting of the monitor display is less
than or equal to 1024 x 768.
If you ar
e using a Notebook PC:
1
You are required to implement the above steps of 
resolution setting of the computer first.
2Switch the Notebook PC display to the “external 
display only” or “CRT only” mode.
If you experience difficulty in changing resolutions or your
monitor fr eezes, restart all the equipment and the pr ojector.

PROBLEM: The screen of the Notebook or PowerBook
computeris not displaying your presentation.
If you are using a Notebook PC:
Some Notebook PCs may deactivate their scr eens when a second
display device is in use. Refer to your computer’s documentation
for information on how to reactivate the monitor display.
If you are using an Apple PowerBook:
In Control Panels, open the PowerBook Display to 
select Video Mirroring “On”.
PROBLEM Image is unstable or flickering
Use “T racking” to correct it. Refer to page 20.
Change the monitor color setting from your computer.
PROBLEM Image has vertical flickering bar
Use “Frequency” to make an adjustment. Refer to page 20.
Check and reconfigure the display mode of your graphic card to
make it compatible with the product. Refer to page 30.
PROBLEM Image is out of focus
Adjusts the Focus Ring on the pr
ojector lens. Refer to page 14.
Make sure the projection screen is between the required 
distance 1.2 to 10.0 meters from the projector.
PROBLEM The image is outstretched when displaying 16:9 DVD
The projector automatically detects 16:9 DVD and adjusts the aspect
ratio by digitizing to full screen with 4:3 default setting.
If the image is still outstretched, you will also need to adjust the asp\
ect
ratio by referring to the following:
Please select 4:3 aspect ratio type on your DVD player if you ar e
playing a 16:9 DVD.
If you can’t select 4:3 aspect ratio type on your DVD player, please
select 4:3 aspect ratio in the on scr een menu. 
PROBLEM Image is r
eversed
Select “Management” from the OSD and adjust the projection directi\
on. See
page 23.
PROBLEM Lamp burns out or makes a popping sound
When the lamp reaches its end of life, it will burn out and may
make a loud popping sound. If this happens, the projector will not
turn on until the lamp module has been r eplaced. To replace the
lamp, follow the procedures in the “Replacing the Lamp” section. S\

PROBLEM Message Reminders
“Lamp is appr oaching the end of its useful life in full power
operation. Replacement Suggested!” will be shown about 10
seconds when lamp life is going to deplete.
“Pr ojector Over heated. Lamp will automatically tur n off soon.” will
be shown when the system temperature is over heat.
“Fan fail. Lamp will automatically turn off soon.” will be shown
when the fan is out of order.
 
                                    
						

							
The projector will detect the lamp life itself. It will show you a
warning message “Lamp is approaching the end of its useful life
in full power operation. Replacement Suggested!” When you see
this message, change the lamp as soon as possible.
Make sure the projector has been cooled down for at least 
30 minutes before changing the lamp.
Lamp Changing Procedure:
1
Turn off the power to the projector by pressing the Power button.
2Allow the projector to cool down at least 30 minutes.
3Disconnect the power cor d.
4Use a screwdriver to remove the screw from the cover  . 
5Push up and Remove the cover  . 
6Remove the two screws from the lamp module  . 
7Pull out the lamp module  . 
To replace the lamp module, reverse the previous steps.
