    							How to update firmware on AvTech DVR/NVR  Find your DVR/NVR part number on our FTP site        
    						
    							 Click on firmware and download the newest zip file           
    						
    							Unzip the file to your thumb drive if you’re upgrading at the DVR. If the file is inside a folder move it the root directory of the drive. You should be able to open the thumb drive and see the file without opening anymore folders.  At the DVR main menu go to Advanced Configuration>System Information>Tools>Upgrade. It will ask you to insert the USB Drive if you have not done so already. Then you will get a prompt to save current settings, click yes if you want to keep the current configuration. The DVR will go through the update process and reboot.          
    						
    							 To update the firmware remotely log into your DVR and click on Configuration in the top left, then Configure in the bottom left            
    						
    							 Use the button to the right of firmware file to browse to the new firmware  If you’re DVR/NVR has multiple files you can select all of them or add them individually      
    						
    							 It will go through the process of updating    
    						
    							 When it is complete it will try to refresh the page or you can click on the refresh button to bring up the login again  NOTE: When you update firmware remotely depending on the DVR/firmware version it may NOT keep the settings. They may reset to default. This means you won’t be able to access the DVR remotely again if the network settings become reset. You will either have to set the network settings again at the DVR or have remote access to a computer on the network.
