    1. 0dB Input accepts a standard
1/4” instrument plug from your bass.
This input is suited for use with
    instruments that have passive elec-
    tronics.
    2. -15dB Inputaccepts a standard
1/4” instrument plug from high out-
put basses. This input is padded
15dB to compensate for higher out-
put sources and is suited for use
with basses that have active elec-
    tronics or high output pickups.
    3. Ultra Lowincreases the low fre-
quency output by 7dB at 40Hz. This
adds to the rumble and overall feel
    of the low bass notes.
    4. Ultra Middecreases the mid fre-
quency output by 6dB at 600Hz.
This removes some of the middle
    frequencies for a “contoured”
    sound.
    5. Ultra Highincreases the high fre-
quency output by 7dB at 5kHz. This
    adds crispness to your sound.
    6. Peak LEDwill illuminate when
the Gain control (#8) is set too high.
    This indicates overdriving of the
    preamplifier which causes clipping.
    (See the Gain control, #8.)
    7. Signal LEDwill illuminate when
the Gain control (#8) is adjustedproperly. (See the text for the Gain
    control.)
    8. Gainmust be adjusted to match
the output of your instrument to the
    amplifier. For the proper setting,
turn on the amplifier, turn the Gain
control and the Master control (#13)
all the way down and begin playing
your bass. Turn the Gain control up
until the Signal LED (#7) lights while
playing and the Peak LED (#6)
    flashes occasionally.
    9. Bassadjusts the output level of
the low frequencies and offers a cut
or boost of 12dB at 70Hz.
    10. Low Midadjusts the output
level of the lower midrange frequen-
cies and offers a cut or boost of
    12dB at 300Hz.
    11. High Midadjusts the output
level of the upper midrange fre-
quencies and offers a cut or boost of
    11dB at 1.5kHz.
    12. Trebleadjusts the output level
of the high frequencies and offers a
cut or boost of 14dB at 7kHz.
    13. Master controls the overall out-
put level of the amplifier and the
level of the signal at the
Headphones jack (#15).14. Line Outsupplies a mono sig-
nal for connecting to a mixing con-
    sole, tape recorder or external
    amplifier. The signal is pre-Master
    and post-EQ.
    15. Phonesallows the connection
of a pair of stereo headphones for
    private practice sessions. The inter-
    nal speaker is disconnected when-
    ever headphones are used.
    16. Power lightindicates the ampli-
fier is turned on by glowing an iri-
    descent blue color.
    17. Power switchis used to turn
    the amplifier on and off.
    18. Power cord (rear panel, not
    shown)connects the amplifier to a
suitable source of A.C. voltage. This
is a grounded, three-wire cord and
must be connected to a properly
    grounded outlet. DO NOT attempt
    to defeat the ground connection
of the power cord!If your amp was
    purchased outside of the United
States, see the sticker next to the
A.C. connector for its power ratings.
    Follow the above guidelines.
Thank you for selecting the Ampeg Rocket Bass amplifier. Inspired by the classic Ampeg

the finest instrument amplification systems available. In order to get the most out of your
