Thank you for purchasing the Ampeg B-15E Portaflex Bass Cabinet.
Designed specifically for use as an extension cabinet for our newly-reis-
sued B-15R Portaflex Bass Amplifier, this cabinet features the same rugged
construction and quality components, and is even sized the same for the
best possible “match” visually as well as sonically. In order to obtain the
best results with this cabinet, please read this guide before its use.
    FEATURES:
    •Ampeg Vintage 15” Speaker•H.F. Horn w/Level control
•Removable Dolly Board w/Casters•Proudly Made In America
    USEOFTHECABINET:
While the B-15E is simple to install as an extension cabinet, there are a few things which
must be taken into account in order to obtain the best results:
1: Match the output impedance of the amplifier to the overall impedance of the cab-
    inet configuration.
The B-15E has a nominal impedance of 8 ohms. When used in parallel with the B-15R’s
cabinet (also 8 ohms), set the amplifier’s Impedance Selector to 4 ohms. (If the B-15E cab-
inet is to be used by itself, set the amplifier’s Impedance Selector to 8 ohms.)
2: Do not exceed the power rating of the cabinet.
The B-15E has a power handling capability of 150 watts. Do not use this cabinet with
amplifiers of higher output power ratings unless the volume is kept low enough to avoid
    overpowering the cabinet.
3: Use the High Frequency Attenuator to control the tweeter.
The B-15E’s input jackplate, located on the rear of the cabinet, has a 3-position switch
to control the tweeter output level. The far left position is “off”, the center position is -6dB
and the far right position is no attenuation. Use the tip of a flatblade screwdriver to set this
switch to the position which best suits your taste and playing style.
4: Use the Full Range Input jacks to connect the cabinet.
The B-15’s input jackplate also has a pair of 1/4” input jacks, labeled “Full Range Inputs.”
Use these jacks to connect the cabinet to your amplifier or another speaker cabinet. The
    jacks are wired in parallel.
