    5. Type the new IP address, or press ENTER to select the
    current IP address.
    The following instructions display on-screen:
    Current subnet mask = 0.0.0.0
    Enter new subnet mask for this interface:
    6. Type the new subnet mask address, or press ENTER to
    select the current subnet mask.
    The following instructions display on-screen:
    Select priority Normal/High [N/H] (N):
    7. Do one of the following, and then type Y:
    To give the interface high priority, type H.
    To give the interface normal priority, type N.
    The Router Configuration Menu redisplays.
    8. Repeat steps 1-6 for each port for which you want to
    configure an IP address.
    You must restart the PARTNER ACS 1600 DSL module
    for any changes to take effect.  For more information on

    “Getting started” chapter.
    Enabling RIP
    poisoned
    reverse
    When you enable RIP, the PARTNER ACS 1600 DSL module
    sends routing data to other adjacent routers and dynamically
    “learns” the associated network topology.
    For RIP to work, you must enable RIP globally or locally (by
    port), and then setting the RIP version.  The order in which
    you perform the procedures is irrelevant.

    Enabling RIP poisoned reverse globally
    To enable RIP poisoned reverse globally:
    1. On the Main Menu, select Configure IP Router.
    The Router Configuration Menu displays.

    in use.
    3. Type the number of the port for which you want to enable
    poisoned reverse.
    The following instructions display on-screen:
    RIP Poisoned Reverse for Slot 1, Port 1 is
    currently DISABLED

    4. Type E.

    5. Repeat steps 1-3 for each port for which you want to
    enable RIP poisoned reverse.

    Setting the RIP version
    To set the RIP version:
    1. On the Main Menu, select Configure IP Router.

    RIP poisoned reverse version.

    Adding a static
    route
    To add a static route:

    Y.

    Adding a
    default route
    To add a default route:

    Disabling
    bridging
    To configure the PARTNER ACS 1600 DSL module as a
    router, you must disable bridging both globally and by port.
    The order in which you perform the procedures is irrelevant.
    When you disable bridging globally, it automatically disables
    bridging for all ports and disables the spanning tree protocol.
    Disabling bridging globally
    To disable bridging globally:
    1. On the Main Menu, select Configure Bridge.
    The Bridge Configuration Menu displays.
