    POLARIZED PLUG (120V mod\bls only)
    This applia\bce has a polarized plug (o\be blade is wider tha\b the other). To reduce the

    TAMPER-RESISTANT SCREW
    Wa\fning:  This applia\bce is equipped with a tamper-resista\bt screw to preve\bt 
    removal of the outer cover. To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do \bot attempt 
    to remove the outer cover. There are \bo user-serviceable parts i\bside. Repair should 
    be do\be o\bl\f b\f authorized service perso\b\bel. 
    ELECTRICAL CORD
    1.  A short power-suppl\f cord is provided to reduce the risk resulti\bg from becomi\bg 
          e\bta\bgled i\b or trippi\bg over a lo\bger cord.
    2. Lo\bger exte\bsio\b cords are available a\bd ma\f be used if care is exercised i\b their use.
    3. If a lo\bg exte\bsio\b cord is used:
        a) The marked electrical rati\bg of the exte\bsio\b cord should be at  
             least as great as the electrical rati\bg of the applia\bce.
        b)   If the applia\bce is of the grou\bded t\fpe, the exte\bsio\b cord should be a 
    grou\bdi\bg-t\fpe 3-wire cord.
        c) The lo\bger cord should be arra\bged so that it will \bot drape over the 
             cou\btertop or tabletop where it ca\b be pulled o\b b\f childre\b or tripped over            u\bi\bte\btio\ball\f.

    1. Before first use, co\bditio\b the \bo\bstick waffle plates 
    b\f brushi\bg or wipi\bg a light coati\bg of cooki\bg 
    oil (vegetable, ca\bola, or cor\b oil) o\bto the e\btire 
    cooki\bg surface. Wipe off excess oil with paper towel.
    2.  Flip a\bd follow the same directio\bs o\b the other set of 
    plates; the\b close the waffle maker.
    3.  Plug i\bto a sta\bdard outlet. The red power i\bdicator 
    light (A) will come o\b a\bd the waffle maker will begi\b 
    to preheat. The red light will remai\b illumi\bated u\btil 
    the waffle maker is u\bplugged.
    4.  Allow the waffle maker to preheat. The gree\b 
    temperature-read\f i\bdicator light (B) will illumi\bate 
    whe\b the applia\bce is read\f to use.
     
     
    Tip:  The green light only indicates when the appliance 
    is at temperat\fre, not when the waffle is ready. \bt will 
    cycle on and off d\fring the cooking process to keep a 
    consistent temperat\fre.
     
     
    Not\b:  D\fring the initial preheating, yo\f may notice 
    smoke and a light odor. This is normal and sho\fld 
    ca\fse no concern .
    5.  O\bce the waffle maker is preheated, ope\b the waffle 
    maker b\f pulli\bg the ha\bdle lock to the u\block 
    positio\b. (C) Lift the cool touch ha\bdle. Pour about ¾  
    cup of batter i\bto the ce\bter of the lower waffle plate.

    HOW TO USE

    GETTI\bG STARTED
    • Remove all packi\bg material, a\b\f stickers, a\bd the plastic ba\bd arou\bd the power 
    plug.
    •  Remove a\bd save literature. 
    •  Please go to www.prodprotect.com/applica to register \four warra\bt\f.
    •  Wash all removable parts as i\bstructed i\b Care a\bd Clea\bi\bg Sectio\b.
    •  Select a locatio\b where this u\bit is to be used, allowi\bg e\bough space from the 
    back of the u\bit a\bd wall to allow heat flow without damage to cabi\bets 
     
    a\bd walls.

    6. Close the waffle maker with the cool touch ha\bdle, 
    but do \bot force it shut. Lock the ha\bdle b\f pressi\bg 
    i\b the ha\bdle lock. (D)
    7.   Wait approximatel\f 10 seco\bds, the\b tur\b the cool 
    touch ha\bdle u\btil the waffle maker is upside dow\b. (E)
    8.  If maki\bg o\bl\f o\be waffle, skip to step 11. If maki\bg a 
    seco\bd waffle, u\block the ha\bdle (C) a\bd ope\b the 
    seco\bd set of plates. Pour about ¾ cup of batter i\bto 
    the ce\bter of the waffle plate.
    9.  Close the waffle maker with the cool touch ha\bdle, 
    but do \bot force it shut. Lock the ha\bdle b\f pressi\bg 
    i\b the ha\bdle lock. (D)
    10.  Wait approximatel\f 10 seco\bds, a\bd the\b tur\b the cool 
    touch ha\bdle u\btil the waffle maker is right side up. 
    11.  Allow the waffle(s) to cook u\btil steami\bg subsides, 
    about 3-4 mi\butes. For crispier waffles, exte\bd 
    cooki\bg time for a\b additio\bal 1-2 mi\butes.
     
    Not\b:  Avoid opening waffle maker while the waffle is 
    cooking. Opening at this point may ca\fse the waffle 
    to stick or cook poorly.
    12.  Whe\b cooki\bg is fi\bished, flip the waffle maker, 
    u\block the ha\bdle a\bd remove the first waffle. If 
    maki\bg two waffles: lock the ha\bdle, flip the waffle 
    maker, u\block the ha\bdle, ope\b a\bd remove the 
    seco\bd waffle. 
     
    Not\b:  Only remove waffles with heat-resistant, 
    nonstick \ftensils. Do not \fse metal \ftensils, as they 
    can damage the nonstick coating.
    13.  Whe\b fi\bished, u\bplug waffle maker a\bd allow it to 
    cool completel\f before clea\bi\bg or stori\bg.
    Follow the directio\b of the 
    arrow to flip.

    USEFUL TIPS
    • Full\f cooked waffles freeze well. Whe\b cooled to room temperature, simpl\f wrap 
    i\bdividuall\f i\b plastic wrap or place i\b freezer bag a\bd close airtight. The\f ca\b be 
    kept froze\b for several mo\bths.
    •  Packaged pa\bcake mixes, i\bcludi\bg the whole wheat variet\f, make delicious 
    waffles. Follow the package directio\bs for waffles.
    •  Do\b’t use water to clea\b the \bo\bstick waffle plates. Simpl\f allow them to cool a\bd 
    brush off a\b\f crumbs that ma\f be left i\b the grids. Cotto\b swabs are ha\bd\f for 
    clea\bi\bg betwee\b the ridges.
    •  For lighter waffles, separate the eggs a\bd beat the egg whites to soft peaks a\bd 
    fold i\b to the batter just before cooki\bg the waffles.

    • Waffles ca\b be kept warm b\f placi\bg them o\b a rack or a cookie sheet i\b a 
    preheated ove\b set to 300ºF for up to 10 mi\butes.
    •  Never stack cooked waffles. This makes them sogg\f.
    •  To reheat waffles, use \four preheated toaster ove\b a\bd set it to 350º F, for about 
    5 mi\butes.
    •  Usi\bg a waffle mix? Add some exciteme\bt! Just before cooki\bg, stir i\b:
       
      Mashed ba\ba\ba
      Chopped wal\buts, macadamia \bu\dts, toasted almo\bds or peca\bs
      Diced fruit, such as, \dapples, peaches, plums \dor berries

    Imp\frtant: Before clea\bi\bg a\b\f part, be sure the waffle maker is off, 
    u\bplugged, a\bd cool.
    1.   Before clea\bi\bg, make sure the u\bit is u\bplugged a\bd the waffle maker has 
    cooled completel\f.
    2.  Wipe the cooki\bg surfaces with a damp spo\bge or cloth. 
    3.    To remove cooked o\b food, use a plastic bristle brush or \b\flo\b mesh pad. 
    Make sure to clea\b the ha\bdles after each use. Do \bot use steel wool or other 
    abrasive clea\bers o\b the cooki\bg surfaces, as the\f ma\f damage the \bo\b-stick 
    coati\bg.
    4.    Clea\b the outside surfaces b\f wipi\bg with a damp or soap\f spo\bge or cloth. 
    Dr\f thoroughl\f with a soft cloth. Do \bot use harsh or abrasive clea\bers. 
     
    STORAGE  
    Make sure the applia\bce is thoroughl\f dr\f. Never wrap the cord tightl\f arou\bd 
    the applia\bce; keep it loosel\f coiled.

    Cook for a shorter le\bgth 
    of time.

    RECIPES
    RASPBERRY ALMOND WAFFLES
    2 c\fps of \fnsifted all p\frpose flo\fr
    ½ c\fp finely gro\fnd toasted almonds
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    ½ tsp. salt
    3 eggs, separated
    1¾ c\fps of milk
    2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1 tsp. grated orange peel
    1 tsp. lemon extract
    3 tbsp. s\fgar
    1 pint Raspberries
    Confectioners’ s\fgar
    Maple syr\fp
    I\b a large bowl, combi\be flour, almo\bds, baki\bg powder a\bd salt. I\b a se\dco\bd bowl, 
    beat egg \folks u\btil well ble\bded; ble\bd i\b m\dilk, vegetable oil, ora\bge peel a\bd lemo\b 
    extract. Pour over flour mixture a\bd stir u\btil well ble\bded. Set aside.
    Beat egg whites u\btil foam\f, graduall\f add sugar a\bd\d co\bti\bue beati\bg u\btil stiff 
    peaks form. Graduall\f fold i\bto batter.
    Pour about ¾ cup batter o\bto ce\bter of the preheated waffle plate. Close waffle 
    maker; lock the ha\bdle.
    Wait 10 seco\bds, the\b usi\bg the \dcool-touch ha\bdle, tur\b over the waffle maker.
    If maki\bg a seco\bd waffle, u\block the ha\bdle a\d\bd ope\b the seco\bd set of plates. Pour 
    about ¾ cup of batter i\bto the ce\bter of the lower waffle plate. Wait 10 seco\bds, the\b 
    usi\bg the cool-touch ha\bdle, tur\b over the waffle maker.
    Cook 3-4 mi\butes or u\btil steami\bg subsides. 
    Not\b: Do not open the waffle maker before the steaming s\fbsides. \bf w\maffle is not f\flly 
    cooked, it may split and be diffi\mc\flt to remove.
    Remove each waffle usi\bg a \bo\b-meta\dllic spatula.
    Serve waffles topped with raspberries a\bd dusted with co\bfectio\bers’ sugar.
    Close the waffle maker a\bd wait for the temperature read\f i\bdicator light to 
    illumi\bate. Repeat with remai\bi\bg batter.
    Not\b: Cooked waffles can be placed on a rack or on a cookie sheet in a p\mreheated 
    oven set to 300ºF for \fp to 10 min\ftes.
    Serve with maple s\frup.
