The TASSIMO machine uses a short
power-supply cord to prevent the cord from
tangling and to reduce the risk of tripping
over a longer cord

5 11/2011 en ►Insert the plug into a wall outlet ►Remove the water tank, rinse it and the filter cartridge holder (5c) thoroughly under running water, and fill it up to the max mark with cool fresh water ►Replace the water tank by tilting it slightly and returning it to its original position until it clicks into place ►Remove the Service T DISC (6a) from it s compartment (6) at the back of the appliance ►Turn the machine on by pressing the ON / OF F switch (1) T he display elements will light up briefly ►Select a large cup (minimum capacity 8 o z / 20 0 m l) and place it on the cup stand (7) min 8 oz / 200 ml First.use.of.your.TASSIMO.machine
6 Bosch Home Appliances en 1. .Op en the brewing unit by lifting the handle (4a) and then pushing the brewing unit up 2..Pl ace the Service T D ISC (6a) on the T D ISC holder (4b) with the barcode facing down M ake sure that the flap of the T D ISC is centred in the slot in the front 3..Cl ose the brewing unit by first bringing it down 4 . .Th en push the handle (4a) firmly to the machine, until you hear an audible click 5..Pre ss the Start / St op button (2) to start the cleaning process 6..Wh en the cleaning process is complete, empty the cup and return it under the drink outlet .!.IMPORTANT Please.complete.st eps.5.an d.6.fo ur. ti mes .to.en sure .th e .ma chine .is.cl eaned . an d .pr epared .fo r .th e .ne xt .st eps. 7. .Op en the brewing unit, remove the Service T D ISC and store it in the compartment (6) at the back of the machine ►The next step involves installing the MAVEA MA XTR A water filter system that came with your machine P lease follow the instructions on the next pages 1. 2. 3.4. 5.6. 4 .x 7.

Th e MAVEA MA XTR A cartridges may be obtained from various retailers or from TASSIMO Customer Service Department at 1-877-TDISCS1 or only in the USA on www ta ssimo co m To o perate your machine with a new filter cartridge (5d), proceed as follows: Preparing .a nd .i nserting .t he .M AVEA . . MA XTRA .fi lter .c artridge 1. .Re move the filter cartridge (5d) from its protective wrap 2..Im merse the filter cartridge (5d) in cold tap water and move it gently back and forth to remove any air bubbles (about 5 s econds) 3..Re move the filter cartridge holder (5c) from the water tank and insert the filter cartridge (5d) into the appropriate chamber of the filter cartridge holder (5c) until it snaps into place with an audible click 4..Ho ld the filter cartridge holder (5c) un- der the tap, fill it with fresh, cold water and let the water run through the filter cartridge (5d) R epeat this procedure three times 1. 2. 3. 4.3 .x .MAVEA..MAXTRA.water.fi ltration.s ystem

filter cartridge (5d) should be replaced
every eight weeks

he MAVEA cartridge replacement indicator
(3f) on the top of the machine uses bars to
indicate when the filter cartridge (5d) should
be replaced with a new one
To activate the MAVEA filter cartridge

the Start button until all four bars appear on
the dis

ay and blink twice

e blinking dot in the lower right corner
indicates that the filter cartridge replace

hen no bars are visible
after eight weeks and the arrow is blinking,
replace the filter cartridge (5d)
To r
emove the filter cartridge (5d), simply
pull it out by its tab
To
prepare a new filter cartridge (5d), follow
the instructions in the section titled “Pre-
paring and inserting the MAVEA
MA
XTR A
filter cartridge” and reset the MAVEA filter
cartridge replacement indicator (3f) by
pressing and holding the Start button

indicator shows only one bar
