    Connecting to a Computer

    You can press ( ) to transfer the images, instead of the   button. With 
    [ ALL IMAGES], [ NEW IMAGES] or [ TRANSFER ORDERS], a 
    confirmation message appears. Select [OK] and press ( ).
     When the camcorder is connected to the computer and the image selection 
    screen is displayed, press the MENU button to return to the transfer menu.
     Even when still images recorded on the disc are correctly transferred to the 
    computer, they will still be marked as images not yet transferred (“NEW 
    IMAGES”).

    Transferring Images with Transfer
    Order Settings
    You can select still images recorded on the memory card to transfer to the computer. 
    These transfer settings are compatible with the Digital Print Order Format (DPOF) 
    standards. Up to 998 images can be selected.
    Selecting Still Images to Transfer (Transfer Order)
    Do not connect the USB cable to the camcorder while setting the transfer orders.
    1. Set the camcorder to view still images recorded on the memory card (/).
    2. Press the FUNC. button.
    3.First, select ( ) the [TRANSFER ORDER] symbol and press ( ). 
    Set it ( ) to [ON] and press ( ).
    4. Press the FUNC. button to close the menu.
    To cancel the transfer order, select [OFF] in step 3.
    Setting Transfer Orders from the Index Screen
    1. Set the camcorder to view still images recorded on the memory card  (/).
    2. Move the zoom lever toward  W.
    The stills index screen appears with up to six still images.
    3. Press the MENU button and use the omni selector ( ,  ) to select 
    the [STILL IMG OPER.] menu and then select the [ TRANSFER 
    ORDER] option.
    4. Bring ( ,  ) the cursor   to  the image you want to transfer and 
    press ( ).
    • “ ” appears on the image.
    • To cancel the transfer order, press ( ) again.
    5. Press the MENU button to close the menu.

    Erasing All Transfer Orders
    1. Set the camcorder to view still images recorded on the memory card (/).
    2. Press the MENU button and use the omni selector ( ,  ) to select  the [STILL IMG OPER.] menu and then select the [ ORD. ALL 
    ERASE] option.
    3. Select [YES] and press ( ).

    PrintingPrinting Still Images
    Connecting the Camcorder to the Printer
    1. Make sure that the memory card or disc containing the still images you want to print is loaded in the camcorder.
    2. Turn on the printer.
    3. Set the camcorder to view still images ( ).
    4. Select as the media for the still  images, the media from where you 
    want to print the images.
    5. Connect the camcorder to the printer using the supplied USB cable.
    •    appears and changes to  . The symbol will not appear if the memory card or  disc contains still images that cannot be viewed with this camcorder.
    • The   (print/share) button lights up and the current print setting will be displayed  for approx. 6 seconds.
    If   continues to flash (for more than 1 minute) or if   does not appear, the 
    camcorder is not correctly connected to the printer. In such case, disconnect the 
    cable from the camcorder and the printer. Turn them both off and then on again 
    and reconnect the camcorder to the printer.
     A “ ” will appear for images that cannot be printed. 
     We recommend powering the camcorder from a household power outlet.
     Refer also to the printer’s instruction manual.
     The print setting menu may differ slightly depending on the connected printer. The camcorder can be connected to any PictBridge compatible 
    printer. You can use the print order settings for direct printing of 
    still images recorded on the memory card ( 121).

    Printing with the   (Print/Share) Button
    You can print a still image without changing the settings by simply pressing the   
    (print/share) button.
    1. Select ( ) the still image you wish to print.
    2. Press the   (print/share) button.
    • Printing starts. The   button flashes and stays on when printing is complete.
    • To continue printing, select ( ) another still image.
    Printing after Selecting the Print Settings
    You can select the number of copies and other settings for printing. The setting options 
    vary depending on your printer model.
    1. Press ( ).
    • The print setting menu appears.
    • Depending on the printer, the message “BUSY.” may appear  before the camcorder displays the print setting menu.
    2. Select the print settings ( 117).
    3. Select ( ) the [PRINT] option and press ( ).
    • Printing starts. The print setting menu disappears when printing is complete.
    • To continue printing, select ( ) another still image.
     Images not recorded with this camcorder, uploaded from a computer, edited on 
    a computer and images whose file names have been changed may not be 
    printed correctly.
     Observe the following precautions during printing:
    - Do not turn off the camcorder or the printer.
    - Do not change the position of the  /  switch.
    - Do not disconnect the USB cable.
    - Do not remove the disc or memory card.
     If the message “BUSY” does not disappear, disconnect the USB cable from 
    both the camcorder and the printer and then reconnect them again.

    Cancel Printing
    Press ( ) during printing. A confirmation dialog appears. Select [OK] and press 
    ( ). With Canon’s PictBridge compatible printers, the printing will stop 
    immediately (even if not completed) and the paper will be fed through.
     Printing Errors
    If an error occurs during the printing process, an error message appears 
    ( 130).
    - Canon’s PictBridge compatible printers: Resolve the error. When printing 
    does not resume automatically, select [CONTINUE] and press ( ). If 
    [CONTINUE] cannot be selected, select [STOP], press ( ) and retry 
    printing. Refer also to the printer manual for details.
    - If the error still persists and printing does not restart, disconnect the USB  cable and turn the camcorder off. Turn it on again to view still images 
    ( ) and reconnect the cable.
     When you have finished printing:
    1. Disconnect the cable from the camcorder and printer.
    2. Turn off the camcorder.

    Selecting Print Settings
    The procedure for selecting the number of copies is common to all printers. Other print 
    setting procedures vary depending on your printer model. 
    Selecting the Number of Copies
    A maximum of 99 copies can be selected for each still image.
    1. In the print setting menu, select ( ,  ) (COPIES) and press ( ).
    2. Select ( ) the number of copies and press ( ).
    Setting the Print Style
     Print setting options and [DEFAULT] settings vary depending on the printer 
    model. For details, refer to the printer’s instruction manual.
     [BORDERED]: The image area remains relatively unchanged from the recorded 
    image when it is printed. [BORDERLESS]: The center portion of the recorded 
    image is printed at an enlarged size. The top, bottom and sides of the still image 
    may be slightly trimmed out.
     [VIVID], [VIVID+NR] and [NR] can be  selected with Canon PIXMA/SELPHY DS 
    printers.
     Canon printers:
    When selecting [2-UP], [4-UP], [9-UP] or [16-UP] for [PAGE LAYOUT], set the 
    [PAPER SIZE] to [10 x 14.8 cm] or [9 x 13 cm]. Canon PIXMA/SELPHY DS 
    printers: you can also print on the specially designed Photo Stickers sheets.
    When selecting [8-UP], set the [PAPER SIZE] to [CREDITCARD]. Canon 
    PIXMA/SELPHY DS printers: you can also print on the specially designed 
    Photo Stickers sheets.

    1. In the print setting menu, select ( ,  ) [PAPER] and press ( ).
    2. Select ( ) the paper size and press ( ).
    Select the paper size of the paper set in your printer.
    3. Select ( ) the paper type and press ( ).
    Select the paper type of the paper set in your printer.
    4. Select ( ) a layout option and press ( ).
    Including the Date in the Print
    1. In the print setting menu, select ( ,  )    (date) and press ( ).

    Setting the Print Effect (Image Optimize)
    This function uses the camcorder’s recording information to optimize the image data, 
    yielding high quality prints.
    1. In the print setting menu, select ( ,  ) (print effect) and press ( ).
    2. Select ( ) a setting and press ( ).

    Selecting Trimming Settings
    Set the print style before changing the trimming settings.
    1. In the print setting menu, select ( ,  ) [TRIMMING] and press ( ).
    The trimming frame appears.
    2. Change the size of the trimming frame.
    • Move the zoom lever toward  T to shrink the frame, and 
    toward  W to enlarge it.
    • To cancel the trimming settings, move the zoom lever toward 
    W  until the trimming frame disappears.
    3. Move ( ,  ) the trimming frame.
    Pressing the MENU button brings you back to the print settings 
    menu.
     About the color of the trimming frame (Canon CP printers only):
    - White: No trimming settings.
    - Green: Recommended trimming size. (The trimming frame may not appear in 
    green depending on the image size, paper size or borders settings.)
    - Red: The image is magnified beyond the recommended size. The print quality  will probably be disappointing.
     The trimming setting applies only to one image.
     The trimming setting is canceled with the following operations:
    - When you turn off the camcorder.
    - When you disconnect the USB cable.
    - When you expand the trimming frame beyond its maximum size.
