This section outlines the basic preparations for the camcorder such as attaching a lens and attaching the

• When a compatible lens is attached to the camcorder (A121) and the focus mode is set to AF, you can have 
the lens retract automatically when the camcorder's power is turned off.

Configuring the Modular Units
Attaching and Removing the Handle Unit
The handle unit extends the camcorder’s audio capabilities, adding XLR terminals as well as a built-in stereo 
microphone.
Attaching the Handle Unit
1Set the Q switch to OFF.
2 Insert the attachment base at the bottom of the handle unit to 
the camcorder’s accessory shoe.
3 Tighten the handle unit’s lock screw while gently pressing it

The grip unit comes originally attached to the camcorder. You can remove it and replace it with the thumb rest

1 Adjust the viewfinder’s angle as necessary.
• The viewfinder's angle can be adjusted up to 68°.
2 Turn on the camcorder and adjust the dioptric adjustment 
lever.
• You can press the VIEWFINDER button to turn the 
viewfinder on and off.

Using the OLED Panel
1 Pull the OLED panel 180 degrees to the left.
• The OLED panel can be pulled to the left 270 degrees so that 
the screen can be viewed from the side.
2 Push the OLED panel up or down to adjust it to the 
desired angle of view.

• If you are not using the viewfinder during a long recording, we 
recommend turning it off.
• While recording with the OLED panel facing toward the subject,
