    a)UseabrowsertoconnecttotheCiscoIMCGUIsoftwareontheserverthatyouareupgrading.
    b)intheaddressfieldofthebrowser,entertheCiscoIMCIPaddressforthatserver,andthenenteryourusernameand
    password.
    c)ClickLaunchKVMConsoleonthetoolbar.tolaunchtheKVMConsole.
    Selecttheservernodeonwhichyouwanttobootthe

    Step 5IntheBootMenuscreen,choosethepreparedISO:
    •Foralocalupgrade,choosethephysicalorexternallyconnectedCD/DVDdeviceandthenpressEnter.
    •Foraremoteupgrade,chooseCiscovKVM-MappedvDVD1.22,andpressEnter.
    Theserverbootsfromtheselecteddevice.
    Step 6AftertheHUUboots,CiscoEndUserLicenseAgreement(EULA)appears,readtheEULAandclick:
    •IAgreetoagreewiththelicenseagreementandproceedwiththeupdate.
    •IDisagreetocancel.
    AfteryouaccepttheEULA,whentheCiscoHostUpgradeUtilitywindowappearswithalistofallthecomponents
    thatareavailableforupdate.
    Step 7Ifyouwanttoupdateallthelistedcomponents,clickUpdateall.
    •EnablingCiscoIMCSecureBootconfirmationdialogboxappears.
    Step 8ReadthecontentontheconfirmationboxcarefullyandclickYes,ifyouwanttogoaheadandupdatethefirmwareand
    enableCiscoIMCsecureboot.

    •Whenyouupdatethefirmwareofoneofthefollowingthreecomponents:BMC,BIOS,orCMC,we
    recommendthatyoualsoupdatethefirmwareoftheothertwocomponents.
    •IfyouupdatetheBMCfirmware,clickExitandthenOktoactivatetheBMCfirmware.
    •IfyouchoosetoupdateBMCandanyothercomponentwithitandifyouhavenotchosenBIOS,thenon
    exit,youwillbepromptedtoupdatetheChassisFirmware,clickYesintheconfirmationboxtoupdate
    thechassisfirmware.
    WhenyouclickUpdateorUpdatealltoupdatethechassiscomponentsofCMC1andCMC2simultaneously,
    theupdateonthesecondtriggeringservercomponentisskipped,andthesubsequentcomponentisupdated.
    Important
    ThisinitiatestheupdateandthestatusoftheupdateisdisplayedintheUpdateStatuscolumn.Youcanalsoviewa
    moredetailedlogofaseriesofactivitiesandstatusesthatareinvolvedwhileupdatingthefirmwareintheExecution
    Logssection.
    Step 14Ifyouwanttoupdatethefirmwareoftheharddiskofaserver,clickUpdateHDDFirmware.Awindowdisplaysalist
    ofharddiskdrivesontheserverthatsupportnewfirmware.Harddiskdrivesthatdonotsupportfirmwareupgradesare
    notlisted.
    Updatingthefirmwareoftheharddiskdrivecouldresultindataloss.Ciscorecommendsthatyoutakea
    completesystembackuppriortoupdatingthefirmware.
    Important
    a)Toupdatethefirmwareofalltheharddisks,clickUpdateAll.
    Withthisoption,HDDswiththelatestfirmwareinstalledarenotupdated.
    b)ToupdateaspecificHDD,choosetheHDDandclickUpdate.
    Step 15ClickExittoexitfromtheHUU.
    Note•IfyouhaveupdatedtheBMCandnottheBIOS,whenyouclickExit,BMCgetsactivatedandyoulose
    connectivitytotheBMCandKVM.
    Step 16ClickYesattheconfirmationprompt.
    Step 17Reboottheservertoapplyfirmwarechanges.
    Step 18BoottheserverbackintoHUUISO,andclickLastUpdateVerify.
    ThisactioncomparesthepreviouslyupdatedfirmwareversionforeachcomponentthatwasupdatedusingtheHUU
    withthecurrentversionofthefirmwareonthecomponentsandprovidesthestatusoftheupdate.
    Step 19Ifyouwanttosavethelogfilesoftheupdatestatusforlateruse,clickSaveLogs.
    LogfilesthatcontainadetailedstatusoftheupdatearesavedtoanexternalUSBdevicethatisconnectedtotheserver
    physicallyorthroughtheKVMvMedia.
    Ifanerroroccurswhileupdatingthefirmware,youarepromptedtosavetheerrorlog.ClickSaveLogstosave
    thelogtoanexternallyconnectedUSB.Thislogcanbeusedforidentifyingthecauseoftheerrorand
    troubleshooting.
