Contacts Add Directory Groups Directorygroupsaremaintainedbyyouradministratorforyourenterprise.WhenyouaddadirectorygrouptoyourContactslist, thenthelistofpeopleassignedtothatdirectorygroupareautomaticallyaddedtothegroupinyourcontacts.Youdon'thaveto maintainthelistbecauseitsynchronizesautomaticallywiththedirectoryforyourenterprise,meaningthatpeopleareaddedand removedfromthegroupinyourContactswhenevertheadministratoraddsorremovesthemfromtheenterprisedirectory.Youcan removeadirectorygroupfromyourcontactslistatanytime. Ifthedirectorygroupislargerthan100people,thennopresenceisdisplayedforanyoneinthatgroup,unlesssomeoneisalsoin yourpersonalcontactslist. Procedure Step 1SelecttheMenuicon,thenFile>New>DirectoryGroup. Step 2Inthedialogboxthatopens,enterthedirectorygroupname. Yourmaybeabletosearchforthedirectorygroupthatyouwanttoadd.Butifyoudon'thaveanysearchcapability,then thedirectorygroupnamemustbeprovidedtoyoubyyouradministrator. Step 3SelectAddthenOK. Add External Contacts CiscoJabberletsyouaddcontactsfromchatapplicationsthatareexternaltoyourorganization.Youcanalsoaddcustomcontacts forpeoplewithoutanIMaddress. Step 2Startaconversationwithyourcontactbyusingoneofthefollowingmethods: •Hoveryourcursoroverthecontacttoaddthatcontacttoalistortocallthatcontact. •Double-clickthecontacttostartachatsession. Start Group Chats Youcanusegroupchatstosendinstantmessagestotwoormorecontactsatthesametime.Groupchatsarenotpersistent,meaning thatyoucanusethemtocreateachatwithtwoormorepeoplebutnohistoryisstored. Procedure Selectoneorseveralparticipantstoinvitetothegroupchat.Themaximumnumberofparticipantsinagroupchatis100. •Openachatwindowwithoneparticipantofthegroupchat.SelectAddparticipantsinthebottomrightcornerofthechat windowandspecifyotherinvitees. 5

Send a Broadcast Message BroadcastIMsallowyoutosendasingleIMtomultiplecontacts.Youcanselectmultiplecontactsoragroupofcontactsfromyour contactlistandsendabroadcastmessagetothemallatonce.RecipientsreceivebroadcastIMsinthesamewayasnormal1:1chats. Procedure Step 1Fromyourcontactlist,selectallthecontactsthatyouwanttoIM. Ifyouwanttosendamessagetoanentiregroup,selecttheheaderforthecontactgroup. Youcanbrowseallroomsbyviewingalistofroomnames,joinopenrooms,orbeaddedtoaroombyanadministrator.Youcanbe amemberofmultiplerooms.Youcanfilterroomcontentbykeywordsorsenders. Join Chat Rooms Joiningachatroomallowsyoutoparticipateintheconversationorreadwhatisbeingsaid,wheremultiplechatroommembersshare informationinacommonchatwindow.AlloftheroomsthatyouareamemberofarelistedinyourMyroomstab.Ifanadministrator addsyoutoachatroom,itisdisplayedimmediatelyinyourMyroomstab. Procedure Step 1ClicktheChatRoomiconintheHubwindow,andselecttheAllRoomstab. Step 2Browseforaroom,whicharelistedalphabetically. Ifaroomisrestrictedtospecificmembers,youcannotjointheroomunlessyouareaddedbyanadministrator.Forthe restrictedroomsthatyouarenotamemberof,youseealockiconinsteadoftheJoinbutton. Step 3ClickJoinbesidetheroomthatyouwanttojoin.Theroomswhereyouarealreadyamemberhaveacheckmarkbeside them. 10
