    NEVEROPERATETHEOUTFITWITHTHE 
    BELTGUARDREMOVED.THEBELTGUARD 
    SHOULDBEREMOVEDONLYWHENTHE 
    COMPRESSORISUNPLUGGED. 
    ToReplaceBelt: 
    1.Unplugcompressor. 
    2.Removethefrontofthebeltguardbydisengagingthe 
    snaps,Insertaflatbladedscrewdriverateachsnap 
    locationandprythebeltguardapart. 3.Themotorismountedonaspecialbase.Byloosening 
    thewingnutatthemotorholddownplate,themotor 
    canbetiltedtoallowforeasyremovalofthebelt. 
    4.Removebeltandreplace. 
    NOTE 
    Thebeltmustbecenteredoverthegrooveson 
    theflywheelandmotorpulley. 
    5.Tightenthewingnutuntilitmakescontactwiththe 
    washerplusoneadditionalturn. 
    6.Replacethefrontofthebeltguard. 
    ToAdjustBeltTension: 
    1.Tightenthewingnutuntilitcontactsthewasher,plus 
    onemoreturn. 
    PulleyandFlywheel-Alignment 
    Thecompressorflywheelandmotorpulleygrooves 
    mustbein-line(inthesameplane)within1/32toassure 
    beltalignmentwithingrooves.Tocheckalignment,dis- 
    connectelectricalpowerandremovethebeltguard. 
    Placeastraightedgeagainsttheoutsideoftheflywheel 
    andmeasurethedistancefromittothenearestgroove. 
    Alignmentisachievedwhentheotherendofthestraight- 
    edgeiswithin1/32ofthemeasureddimensionatthe 
    pulleygroves. 
    STORAGE 
    BeforeYouStoreTheAirCompressor: 
    1.ReviewtheMaintenancesectiononthepreceding 
    pagesandperformmaintenanceasnecessary.Drain 
    th,ewaterfromtheairtank. 
    2.SettheOFF/AUTOswitchtotheOFFposition,and 
    unplugtheunit, 3.Removetheairtooloraccessory. 
    4.Protecttheelectricalcordandairhosefromdamage 
    (suchasbeingsteppedonorrunover).Windthem 
    looselyaroundtheoutfithandle, 
    5.Storethecompressorinacleananddrylocation.

    NEVEROPERATETHEUNITWITHTHEBELTGUARDREMOVED. 
    PROBLEMCAUSECORRECTION 
    Excessivetankpressure- 
    safetyvalvepopsoff. Pressureswitchdoesnotshutoff 
    motorwhencompressorreaches 
    cut-outpressure. MovethepressureswitchlevertotheOFFposi- 
    tion.Iftheoutfitdoesntshutoff,andtheelectrical 
    contactsareweldedtogether,replacethepressure 
    switch. 
    Ifthecontactsaregood,checktoseeifthepinir 
    thebottomofthepressurereliefvalveisstuck.Ifi 
    doesnotmovefreely,replacethevalve= 
    Pressureswitchcut-outtooReturntheoutfittotheSearsServiceCentert( 
    high.checkandadjustorreplaceswitch.
