    This section wi\f\f he\fp you to manua\f\fy confi\bure the wire\fess settin\bs of your router. P\fease 
    note  that  chan\bes  made  on  this  section  may  a\fso  need  to  be  dup\ficated  on  your  wire\fess 
    devices and c\fients.
    The Wire\fess Settin\bs pa\be a\f\fows you to confi\bure how your router connects to the Internet. 
    There are severa\f ways to set up your wire\fess connection. 
    You can c\fick on the  W\freless Connect\fon Setup W\fzard  button to start a wizard that wi\f\f \buide 
    you throu\bh settin\b up your wire\fess settin\bs.
    If you want to manua\f\fy confi\bure your settin\bs, c\fick the  Manual W\freless Connect\fon Setup 
    button and skip to “Manua\f Wire\fess Connection Setup” on pa\be 24.
    You can a\fso set up a wire\fess connection to a device automatica\f\fy, or confi\bure your router 
    automatica\f\fy throu\bh Windows by c\fickin\b the  W\f-F\f Protected Setup button. This is described 
    in “Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS)” on pa\be 29.
    This wizard wi\f\f \buide you throu\bh a step-by-step process to confi\bure your D-Link router’s 
    wire\fess .

    Enter a name for your wire\fess network, then c\fick Next to continue.
    Se\fect a \feve\f of wire\fess security to use, then c\fick Next to continue.
    If  you  chose  BEST  or  BETTER,  se\fect  whether  to  use  TKIP  or  AES  encryption,  then  enter  a 
    password to use for your wire\fess network. It is recommended that you use AES if your wire\fess 
    computers and devices support it, as it is more secure. C\fick Next to continue.
    If you chose GOOD, se\fect whether to use a HEX or ASCII password, then enter a password 
    to  use  for  your  wire\fess  network.  If  you  choose  HEX,  you  wi\f\f  need  to  enter  a  10  or  26  di\bit 
    password usin\b on\fy hex characters (0-9, A-F). If you choose ASCII, the password can be up to 
    5 or 13 a\fphanumeric characters. C\fick Next to continue.
    This comp\fetes the Wire\fess Connection Setup Wizard. C\fick  Save to save your chan\bes and

    Se\fect this checkbox to enab\fe wire\fess access. When you set 
    this option, the fo\f\fowin\b parameters take effect.
    A\fso known as the SSID (Service Set Identifier), this is the n\uame 
    of your Wire\fess Loca\f Area Network (WLAN). Enter a name 
    usin\b up to 32 a\fphanumeric characters. The SSID is case-
    sensitive.
    B/G m\fxed: Enab\fe this mode if\u your network contains a mix of 
    802.11b and 802.11\u\b devices.
    N only: Enab\fe this mode if \uyour network on\fy has 802.11n \u
    devices.
    B/G/N m\fxed: Enab\fe this mode if \uyou have a mix of 802.11n\u, 
    802.11\b, and 802.11b c\fien\uts.
    Enab\fin\b this feature wi\f\f a\f\fow the router to scan for the best 
    channe\f to use automatica\f\fy.
    A wire\fess network uses specific chan\une\fs in the wire\fess 
    spectrum to hand\fe communication between c\fients. Some 
    channe\fs in your area may experience interference from 
    other e\fectronic devices. Choose the c\fearest channe\f to he\fp 
    optimize the performance and covera\be of your wire\fess 
    network, or enab\fe Auto Channe\f Scan for the router to 
    automatica\f\fy se\fect the best channe\f.
    This settin\b determines whether the SSID\u wi\f\f be V\fs\fble or 
    Inv\fs\fble to wire\fess c\fients \fookin\b for wire\fess networks. 
    Settin\b this to Inv\fs\fble can increase the security of your 
    network by hidin\b it, but c\fients wi\f\f need to manua\f\fy enter 
    the SSID of your network to connect.
