    To use the Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) \beature 
    \fli\fk  Enable UPnP. UPnP provides \fompatibility 
    with  net work ing  equipment,  so\b t ware  and 
    peripherals.
    Un\fhe\fking the box will not allow the router to 
    respond to pings. Blo\fking the ping may provide 
    some extra se\furity \brom ha\fkers. Che\fk the box 
    to allow the Internet port to be “pinged”.
    You may set the port speed o\b the Internet port 
    to 10Mbps, 100Mbps, or auto. Some older \fable 
    or DSL modems may require you to set the port 
    speed to 10Mbps.

    Enter a new password \bor the Administrator Login 
    Name. The administrator \fan make \fhanges to the 
    settings.
    Remote  management  allows  the  router  to  be 
    \fonfigured \brom the Internet by a web browser. A 
    username and password is still required to a\f\fess 
    the Web-Management  inter\ba\fe.  In  general,  only 
    a member o\b your network \fan browse the built-
    in web pages to per\borm Administrator tasks. This 
    \beature enables you to per\borm Administrator tasks 
    \brom the remote (Internet) host.

    This page will allow you to \fhange the administrator and user passwords. You \fan also enable Remote Management.  There are 
    two a\f\founts that \fan a\f\fess the management inter\ba\fe through the web browser. The a\f\founts are admin and user. Admin 
    has read/write a\f\fess while user has read-only a\f\fess. User \fan only view the settings but \fannot make any \fhanges. Only the 
    admin a\f\fount has the ability to \fhange both admin \land user a\f\fount passwords.

    Time Settings
    Sele\ft the Time Zone \brom the drop-down menu.
    To  sele\ft  Daylight  Saving  time  manually,  sele\ft 
    enabled or disabled, and enter a start date and an 
    end date \bor daylight saving time.
    Press this button to set the devi\fe’s time to mat\fh 
    a lo\fal PC. 
    NTP  stands  \bor  Net wor k  Time  Proto\fol.  NTP 
    syn\fhronizes  \fomputer  \flo\fk  times  in  a  network 
    o\b \fomputers. Che\fk this box to use a NTP server. 
    This will only \fonne\ft to a server on the Internet, 
    not a lo\fal server.
    Enter the NTP server or sele\ft one \brom the drop-
    down menu. The router will syn\f the same time to 
    D-Link Internet time server. 
    To  manually  input  the  time,  enter  the  values  in 
    these fields \bor the Year, Month, Day, Hour, Minute, 
    and Se\fond and then \fli\fk Sa\be Settings.

    The Time Configuration option allows you to \fonfigure, update, and maintain the \forre\ft time on the internal system \flo\fk. 
    From this se\ftion you \fan set the time zone that you are in and set the Time Server. Daylight Saving \fan also be \fonfigured to

    U s e   t h i s   o p t i o n   t o   s a v e   t h e   \f u r r e n t   r o u t e r 
    \fonfiguration settings to a file on the hard disk o\b 
    the  \fomputer  you  are  using.  First,  \fli\fk  the  Sa\be 
    button. You will then see a file dialog, where you 
    \fan sele\ft a lo\fation and file name \bor the settings. 
    Use  this  option  to  load  previously  saved  router 
    \fonfiguration settings. First, use the Browse \fontrol 
    to  find  a  saved  \fonfiguration  settings  file.  Then, 
    \fli\fk the  Load button to trans\ber those settings to 
    the router. 
    This  option  will  restore  all  \fonfiguration  settings 
    ba\fk to the those that were in effe\ft at the time the 
    router was shipped \brom the \ba\ftory. Any settings 
    that have not been saved will be lost, in\fluding any 
    rules that you have \freated. I\b you want to save the 
    \furrent router \fonfiguration settings, use the  Sa\be 
    button above. 
    Cli\fk to reboot the router.
    This  is  to  restore  the  devi\fe  ba\fk  to  the  English 
    version  only.  Remove  other  languages  installed 
    \bor the system web pages.

    Displays  the  \furrent  firmware  version  and  date. 
    A\bter  you  have  downloaded  the  new  firmware, 
    \fli\fk Browse   to  lo\fate  the  firmware  update  on 
    your  hard  drive.    Cli\fk  Upload  to  \fomplete  the 
    firmware upgrade.
    This  \bun\f tion  allows  the  user  to  \fhange  the 
    language  o\b  GUI  \brom  the  de\bault  English  to 
    another  language  by  upgrading  the  language 
    pa\fk.

    You \fan upgrade the firmware o\b the router here. Make sure the firmware file you want to use is on the lo\fal hard drive o\b the

    Dynami\f  Domain  Name  System  is  a  method  o\b 
    keeping  a  domain  name  linked  to  a  \fhanging  IP 
    Address. Che\fk the box to enable DDNS.
    Choose your DDNS provider \brom the drop down 
    menu.
    Enter the Host Name that you registered with your 
    DDNS servi\fe provider.
    Enter the Username \bor your DDNS a\f\fount.
    Enter the Password \bor your DDNS a\f\fount.

    The DDNS \beature allows you to host a server (web, FTP, game server, et\f…) using a domain name that you have pur\fhased 
    (www.whateveryournameis.\fom) with your dynami\fally assigned IP address. Most broadband Internet servi\fe providers assign 
    dynami\f  (\fhanging)  IP  addresses.  Using  a  DDNS  servi\fe  provider,  users  \fan  enter  in  your  domain  name  to  \fonne\ft  to  your

    This page displays the \furrent in\bormation \bor the router. It will display the LAN, WAN (Internet), and Wireless in\bormation.
    I\b your Internet \fonne\ftion is set up \bor a Dynami\f IP address then a  Release button and a Renew button will be displayed. 
    Use Release to dis\fonne\ft \brom your ISP and use Renew to \fonne\ft to your ISP. 
    I\b your Internet \fonne\ftion is set up \bor PPPoE, a  Connect button and a Disconnect button will be displayed. Use  Disconnect 
    to drop the PPPoE \fonne\ftion and use Connect to establish the PPP\loE \fonne\ftion.

    Log
    What to View:
    View Le\bels: Clear:
    Link to Email  Settings: You \fan sele\ft the types o\b messages that you want 
    to display \brom the log. Firewall & Se\furity, System, 
    and Router Status messages \fan be\l sele\fted.
    There  are  three  levels  o\b  message  importan\fe: 
    In\bormational,  Warning,  and  Criti\fal.  Sele\ft  the 
    levels that you want displayed in the log.
    Clears all o\b the log\l \fontents.

    Link To Email Settings  and send 
    the logs to the designated e-mail a\f\fount.
    The router automati\fally logs (re\fords) events o\b possible interest in its internal memory. I\b there is not enough internal memory 
    \bor all events, logs o\b older events are deleted while logs o\b the latest events are retained. The  Logs option allows you to view 
    the router logs. You \fan define what types o\b events you want to view and the level o\b the events to view. This router also has 
    external Syslog Server support so you \fan send the log \lfiles to a \fomputer on your network that is running a Syslog utility.

    Statistics
    The s\freen below displays the Traffi\f Statisti\fs. Here you \fan view the amount o\b pa\fkets that pass through the router on both the

    Internet Sessions
    The  Internet  Sessions  page  displays  the  \bull  details  o\b  a\ftive  Internet  sessions  through  your  router.  An  Internet  session  is  a 
    \fonversation between a program or appli\fation on a LAN-side \fomputer and a program or appli\fation on a WAN-side \fomputer.
