    SETUP
The Case Trimmer is assembled at the factory in order to fit snugly in the packaging. Unscrew the alu-
minum Case Trimmer crank handle from the cutter shaft, turn it around, and then rethread the crank onto
the cutter shaft. Next, remove the slotted screw from the Case Trimmer base, which holds the rim-holding
device to the gold aluminum base. Turn the rim-holding device so that the opening is facing the cutter
shaft. Refasten the .50 BMG rim-holding device to the Case Trimmer base using the screw hole, which
allows the most clearance for cases. The bearing may also be moved out 1/4” for greater case clearance.
    TRIMMING THECASES
Fasten the Case Trimmer securely to the reloading bench (or fasten it to a board and clamp it to
your bench) to allow free use of both hands. Tighten the #510 Pilot securely in place in the cutter shaft.
Variations in brass thickness may require use of the Forster #505 Pilot (not supplied). Insert the base
of your .50 BMG case into the rim holding device. Move the pilot into the mouth of the case. Tighten
the collet screw to snug the base of the .50 BMG case in your Case Trimmer.
To adjust for case length, take a trial cut and remove the case to check for length. A good-quality
dial caliper may be used to check for length. Adjust the stop collar by moving it along the shaft to make
coarse adjustments. The Frankford Arsenal drawing calls for a 3.910” case length.
Finer case-length adjustments are made by turning the stop collar fine adjustment screw. First,
loosen the locking screw, then turn it clockwise to increase case length or counterclockwise to decrease
case length. One complete 360° turn of the fine adjustment screw changes case length by .032”.
    MAINTENANCE
Store your Case Trimmer in a dry, clean environment. Occasionally lubricate the cutter shaft / bearing with
    a drop of lightweight oil.
