							I. BASIC PROCEDURE
LOAD THE BATTERY
oUse one 3V Fujifilm-Eveready CR123A lithiumbattery.oA new lithium battery will provide power fortaking about 300 pictures, including 150 withflash (as tested according to Fujifilms batterytesting procedure).
1. Open the battery compartment cover (Fig. 1)Push the Covers grained part up (toward thecamera back) and open the Cover toward you.
2. Insert the battery (Fig. 2)Insert the battery in the Battery Compartment,minus Q end first, then press in the plus @ endand close the Battery Compartment Cover.
3. Check the loaded battery Fig. 3)Push the Lens Cover Button downward. lf the LensCover opens and the lens barrel moves out intoshooting position (wideangle), the battery is loadedcorrectly..lf the Flash Sign ( f ) in the LCD blinks for 12
seconds or more after taking a flash picture, thebattery is spent. Change the battery with a newone as soon as possible..lf you are going on a trip or are planning to takelots of pictures, take a spare battery along withyou just in case you might need it. This isespecially true if you are travelling abroadbecause in some countries you may not be ableC to obtain the type of battery you want.

I t. Open the camera back (Fig. 5)- To open, hold the camera bottom side up andpush the Camera Back Lock downward.
2. Insert the film (Fig. 6)Just push the film gently into the Film Chamber.o Do not open the Camera Back all the way. lt isnormally set to open about 15o or just enough to
