    Navigating the menus
    Use the Menu buttons to navigate the menu items.
         
    •Press the Menu button to access the menu system.
    • If you know the menu item number, press that number. For example, you 
    can get to 4:Basic Setup either by pressing 4 or by using the 
    arrow buttons (W X).
    • Use the arrow buttons (W X) to scroll through the options on a 
    particular level.
    •Use the Enter button to select a menu option.
    •Use the Cancel button to back up a level in the menu.
    •Press the Cancel button repeatedly to exit the menus.

    To change the default Resolution setting to Standard, you would 
    take the following steps.
    1Press the Menu button.
    1:Fax Functions will display.
    2Press 4.
    4:Basic Setup will display.

    Fine     * will display.
    Tip! The * means that Fine is the current setting.
    6 Press the right arrow button (X) until Standard displays (2 times).
    7Press Enter. 
    8Press the Cancel button repeatedly to exit the menu.
    Entering dates, times, text, and telephone numbers
    Some menu items ask you to enter dates, times or text. Here is the 
    information to do that.
    
    The unit will ask you for a 4-digit year, 2-digit month, and a 2-digit 
    day. The display will show the date in the proper format for your country.
    Tip! If the date format seems unfamiliar, check that your country is selected 
    under the Advanced Functions menu.
    2The unit will ask you for the time. If your country normally uses a 
    12-hour clock, you will be asked to choose am or pm.
    
    To enter text, press the telephone keypad numbers repeatedly to scroll 
    through the letters. 
    When the correct letter appears, wait for the cursor to move to the next 
    space, then press the number for the next letter.

    		2+To enter a telephone number, including in your header 
    or when programming your speed dial codes, press the telephone keypad 
    numbers. To put a pause or a dash (-) into a telephone number, use the 
    Redial/Pause button. When you put a dash between numbers, a pause is 
    entered.
