    Transferring data between your phone and a 
    USB storage device
    You can use a USB On-The-Go (OTG) cable to connect your phone to a USB storage device 
    directly and transfer files. Compatible USB storage devices include USB flash drives, card 
    readers and phones with a microSD card.
     
    •This feature only applies to phones that support USB OTG cables.
    •Please use a USB OTG cable that is certified by Huawei. To purchase a cable, please 
    contact your device vendor.
    Transferring data between your phone and a microSD card
    You can use a USB OTG cable to access data on another phones microSD card without 
    using a computer.
     Make sure the phone you want to connect to has a microSD card inserted.
    1 Connect to the other phone using a USB OTG cable and a USB data cable.
    2 On the other phone, set the USB connection mode to USB flash drive.

    3 Touch  > Local > Linux USB drive to browse data on the microSD card. You can 
    select and copy data to a destination folder. For more information, refer to Copying, 
    moving or deleting files. 
    4 When you have finished browsing, touch Settings > Advanced settings > Memory & 
    storage
     > Linux USB drive > Eject.
    5 Disconnect the USB OTG and USB data cables from both phones.
    Transferring data between your phone and a USB storage device
    Your phone can access data on USB flash drives, card readers and other storage devices 
    directly with a USB OTG cable.
    1 Connect your phone to a USB flash drive with a USB OTG cable.
    2 Touch  > Local > Linux USB drive to browse data on the USB flash drive. You can 
    select and copy data to a destination folder. For more information, refer to Copying, 
    moving or deleting files.
    3 When you have finished browsing, touch Settings > Advanced settings > Memory & 
    storage
     > Linux USB drive > Eject.
    4 Disconnect the USB OTG cable from the phone and the USB flash drive.

    Multi-screen
    Share multimedia content with friends and family. Multi-screen lets you connect 
    wirelessly to a TV or screen and display your photos, videos or a game.
    What if my TV doesnt support Multi-screen? As long as your TV supports HDMI, you can 
    buy an Android TV box or a similar wireless device to display phone content on your TV.
    Open 
    Settings. Touch Advanced settings > MirrorShare, and then select the receiving 
    device.
     For more information, refer to the instruction manual for your TV box.
    Using NFC to transfer data between phones
    You can use NFC to share data rapidly between two phones. To share photos, videos, 
    web pages and contacts, simply place the two phones back to back.
     This function is only available on phones that support NFC.
    Enabling NFC
    1 Open Settings.
    2 Touch More > NFC.
    3 Turn on the NFC switch.
    4 Turn on the Huawei Beam switch.
    Using NFC to share web pages or contacts
    Before sharing data, make sure that both phones are unlocked and that NFC and Huawei 
    Beam are enabled.
    1 Select the web page or contact that you want to share.
    2 Hold your mobile phone and the receiving device back to back. After a connection is 
    established, a sound will be played and the content you are sharing will shrink on the 
    screen.

    Using the Backup app to back up and restore 
    data
    Easy backups help ensure you never lose your data. You can use a local backup to copy 
    data to your phones internal storage or a microSD card.
     Features may vary depending on your network operator.
    Backing up data to local storage
    1 Open Backup.
    2 Touch New backup
    3 Select the data you want to back up, and then follow the onscreen instructions to 
    perform the backup.
     If data encryption is selected, enter a password when prompted and ensure you 
    remember it.
     By default, backup data is saved to the HuaweiBackup folder in Files.

    Restoring data from local storage
    1 Open Backup.
    2 Select the backup you want to restore.
     If the backup data is encrypted, enter the encryption password when prompted.
    3 Select the data you want to restore, and then touch Restore.
    Restoring factory settings
    Restoring your phone to the factory settings will erase all personal data from your phone 
    storage, including account information, system and application settings, and 
    downloaded applications.
     Back up important data on your phone before restoring factory settings. For more 
    information, refer to Using the Backup app to back up and restore data.
    1 Open Settings.
    2 Touch Advanced settings > Backup & reset > Factory data reset.
    3 Choose whether to format your internal storage, and then touch Reset phone.
     Selecting Erase internal storage will delete all files on your internal storage, such as 
    music and images.
    4 Touch Reset phone to restore your phone to its factory settings. Your phone will 
    restart automatically when the process is complete.
    Updating your phone
    Update your phone to the latest system version for the best user experience.
     
    •Using unauthorised third-party software to update your phone may render your 
    phone unusable or put your personal information at risk. It is recommended that 
    you update through your phones online update feature or download official 
    update packages from Huaweis official website.
    •All your personal data may be erased during a system update. It is recommended 
    that you back up important data before updating your phone. 
    						
    							Backup and restore

    •When updating, ensure that your phone has at least 20% battery power remaining.
    •After updating, you may find that some third-party apps are incompatible with your 
    system, such as Internet banking apps and games. This is because it takes some 
    time for third-party app developers to produce updated versions for new Android 
    releases. Please wait until a newer version of the app is released.
     To view your phones version number, touch Settings > About phone > Build number.
    OTA updates
    When a new system update is released, you will be prompted to download and install the 
    latest version. Select OTA update for quick and secure updates.
     Ensure that your phone is connected to the Internet before updating. Connect to a 
    Wi-Fi network before updating to avoid incurring data charges.
    1 Open Settings.
    2 Touch Update. Your phone will automatically check for updates.
    3 Select the latest version to download the update package.
    4 Once the download is complete, touch Restart and update. The update process may 
    take a while to complete. Do not use your phone before it has finished updating. Your 
    phone will restart automatically when it has finished updating.

    Viewing files
    Viewing files by category
    If you like to keep your files organised, you can open the Files tab in Categories. Your 
    files are automatically sorted into different categories.
    Finding files quickly
    If files are cluttered, use the search feature to quickly locate what you are looking for.
    1 Open Files.
    2 In the Local tab, touch Internal storage or  SD card.
    3 Touch , and then enter the file name or keywords. Search results will be displayed 
    below the search bar.
    Sorting your files
    If your files are cluttered, you can use the sort feature to arrange your files by type, name, 
    size or date.
    1 Open Files.
    2 In the Local tab, touch Internal storage or  SD card.
    3 Touch , and then sort files by type, name, size or date as desired.
    Adding a bookmark
    Add a bookmark to a file if you need rapid access to certain files, but dont want to 
    clutter your home screen with shortcuts.
    1 Open Files.
    2 In the Local tab, touch and hold the destination file or folder, and then touch  > 
    Add bookmark.
    3 In the Categories tab, touch Bookmarks to view and access your bookmarked files.

    Creating file shortcuts on the home screen
    You can create a shortcut to frequently-used files on the home screen for easy access.
    1 Open Files.
    2 In the Local tab, touch Internal storage or  SD card.
    3 Touch and hold on the file you want to create a shortcut for, and then touch  > 
    Create desktop shortcut.
    Sharing files
    If you have an interesting photo or video, you can use Files to share it on social media 
    or with friends.
    1 Open Files.
    2 In the Local tab, touch Internal storage or  SD card.
    3 Select the files you want to share, and then touch  > Share.
    4 Choose a sharing method, and then follow the onscreen instructions to share your 
    files.
    Creating folders
    Create folders and place files inside them to keep your phone organised.
    1 Open Files.
    2 In the Local tab, touch Internal storage or  SD card.
    3 Touch , enter the name of the new folder, and then touch Save.
    Renaming files
    Give your files distinctive names so that you can find them more quickly.
    1 Open Files.
    2 In the Local tab, touch Internal storage or  SD card.

    3 Touch and hold the file or folder you want to rename, and then touch  > Rename.
    4 Rename the file or folder, and touch OK.
    Copying, moving or deleting files
    1 Open Files.
    2 In the Local tab, touch Internal storage or  SD card.
    3 Select the files you want to copy, move or delete. You can:
    • Copy files to a destination folder: Touch , select a destination folder, and 
    then touch .
    • Move files to a destination folder: Touch , select a destination folder, and 
    then touch .
    • Delete files: Touch  > Delete.
    Creating or extracting archives
    You can combine multiple files into a single zip archive. This format uses less storage 
    space and is easy to share.
    1 Open Files.
    2 In the Local tab, touch Internal storage or  SD card.
    3 Select the files or folders you want to add to the archive, and then touch  > 
    Compress.
    4 Choose the archive destination. The selected files will then be compressed into a zip 
    archive, which will be named automatically.
     
    To extract an archive, touch and hold on the archive file, and then touch   > 
    Extract to. Select where the archive should be extracted to.
