    audits to zero, highlight NO RESET AUDITS and you

    Select TOURNAMENT OPERATOR
    ADJUSTABLES to enter into a menu of tournament
    settings and options.  Most of these settings will not be
    necessary for normal tournament access and phone
    connections, and should be left at the factory settings as
    shown on the screen displayed on page 21.
    DISPLAY TOURNAMENT AUDITS displays
    detailed tournament audits on the tournament games
    played on the machine.  Most of these audits are not
    necessary for routine information and collection
    purposes.  This information may be used to help
    determine possible tampering or game problems.
    DISPLAY HARDWARE AUDITS displays the
    voltage readings for the PCB during initial power up of
    the game and during play of the game.
    DISPLAY TIMERS displays time settings that your
    machine is currently using.  These settings are set by the
    ITS via modem.  It also displays game ID and serial
    numbers.
    Tournament Operator Adjustables
    Most of these settings will not need to be changed for
    normal tournament access and phone connections in
    most locations.  The settings should remain as shown in
    the screen display below.

    TOURNAMENT OPERATOR ADJUSTABLES MENU
    FORCE TOURNAMENT UPLOAD may be used if
    you need to force a phone call to the 
    ITS.  To force a
    call, highlight FORCE TOURNAMENT UPLOAD
    using the trackball.  Then move the trackball to the right
    to display YES.  When you exit out of Test Mode, the
    game will automatically make a phone call attempt.  If
    the call is successful, this setting will default back to
    NO.  If the call is not successful, the game will continue
    to call periodically until a successful call is made.
    Some phone systems or companies may require an
    initial prefix, such as 9, before dialing.  Highlight
    OUTSIDE LINE ACCESS NUMBER to select your
    desired prefix.  Moving the trackball left or right will
    increase or decrease the number.  When the desired
    number is displayed, press the 
    START button.  Zero
    means no prefix is used.
    Some phone systems or companies may require a delay
    before dialing in order to connect to a dial tone.
    Highlight OUTSIDE LINE ACCESS DELAY and
    move the trackball left or right to select the desired
    delay.  The number represents seconds.  When the
    desired delay time is displayed, press the 
    START
    button.  The default delay is 2.
    Some older locations may still use rotary, or pulse
    phone systems.  You can change the game to accept
    rotary phone lines by highlighting ROTARY DIAL
    PHONE LINE and then moving the trackball to the
    right to change the setting to YES.  If your location uses
    the more common tone lines, make sure this setting is
    set to NO. 
    						
    							Golden Tee Golf ’99 - 22 MODEM CONNECT TIMEOUT is used to adjust
    the amount of time the modem remains on line in order
    to complete a phone call.  If you notice your game
    timing out before a connected call is completed, you
    may wish to increase this setting, to allow for longer
    connect time. The default setting is 1:30.
    DISPLAY UPLOAD DIAGNOSTICS will display de-
    bugging code on the screen during a phone call.  This
    setting should remain on NO.
    DISABLE ITS ACCESS will completely disable the
    game from trying to make a call.  To avoid losing your
    tournament capability, this setting should remain on
    NO.
    DISABLE MODEM CONNECTION is used at the
    factory during production and should remain on NO.
    Display Tournament Audits
    This screen shows a detailed history of tournament
    activity on your machine.  Normally, you will not need
    to access this screen.  These audits can not be reset by
    the operator.  At the start of each tournament, this audits
    screen is reset to zero by the ITS.    You can use this
    screen to verify your total ITS collections, and verify
    any power loss or reset claims by players.

    ITS TIME is the current time read by the real time
    clock on the PCB using Greenwich Mean Time minus
    12 hours.
    LOCAL TIME is the current time in your time zone.
    TOURNAMENT START TIME and END TIME
    show the current settings for the most current
    tournament. 
    						
    							23 - Golden Tee Golf ‘99 SPECIALS START and END refers to any special
    contests during a tournament such as a Hole-in-One
    contest over a weekend.
    CALL IN TIME is the approximate time that your
    machine calls in to the 
    ITS.
    FIRST TIME TRY and NEXT TIME TRY show
    when your game began calling the 
    ITS and when it will
    try again.  These times will only show if a first attempt
    at a call was unsuccessful.
    CALL IN ATTEMPTS shows the number of
    unsuccessful phone calls, if any.
    GAME ID NUMBER should match the ITS number on
    your game cabinet.  If this number does not match your
    game cabinet, call Incredible Technologies service
    department immediately, as this problem will hinder
    tournament play.
    PCB SERIAL NUMBER should match the AAMA
    sticker on your PCB.  If this number does not match
    your PCB, call Incredible Technologies service
    department immediately, as an incorrect number will
    hinder tournament play.
    NOTE:
    Your programmed Game ID Number andAAMA PCB serial number appear on thisscreen.  Use this information to verify that theyare the same as the stickers on your cabinetand PCB.  If these numbers do not match, youwill not receive correct tournament data.Contact Incredible Technologies immediately.
    Leaderboard Menu
    The factory default for Golden Tee ‘99 displays pre-set
    initials and scores on the Leaderboard, which allows for
    a sense of competition and improvement to the player.
    If you are going to run your own league or tournaments,
    you may wish to delete these placeholders so only real
    players are displayed on the Leaderboard.

    shot points have been included on this screen for use as
    tie breakers.

    When selecting an in-house tournament, you should
    clear all of the names and scores from the course you
    wish to play on.  Highlight the course Leaderboard and
    press START.  All of the initials and scores will be
    cleared, and the Leaderboard will be empty.  Players
    who complete an 18 hole course on the cleared course
    will have their statistics saved on the Leaderboard until
    it is cleared again.
    System Tests Menu
    Golden Tee ‘99 Golf has been inspected and tested at the
    factory, and most likely the game will be in perfect
    working order when you plug it in. If you are
    experiencing any problems with the game, the System
    Tests Menu is a good place to start when tracking down
    the problem. The System Tests MENU can be found in the
    OPERATOR MODE MENU by pressing the test switch
    located just inside the coin door of the cabinet, or set DIP
    Switch 1 on the Main PCB to the OFF position.

    rectangles.  Use these colors as a guide and adjust your
    monitor so they look as good as possible.  This test can

    Full GROM Checksum Test
    Choose Full GROM Checksum Test from the System
    Test Menu to test the Graphics chips on the PCB.  This
    test performs a complete test of the Graphics ROMs.
    While the test is in progress the following message is

    							27 - Golden Tee Golf ‘99
    Control Panel Test
    When CONTROL PANEL TEST is selected, the screen
    will display a diagram of a typical GOLDEN TEE ‘99
    GOLF control panel.  The controls are highlighted on
    the diagram when the controls are active.  Test all of the
    controls, including test and service switches.  Press
    FACE LEFT and FACE RIGHT together to exit this
    test.

    Voltage Adjust Test
    Use this screen to adjust the voltage to the PCB.  It is
    important that the voltage be set correctly to avoid reset
    games or lost video sync.

    CURRENT VOLTAGE shows the current status of
    your voltage.  If the voltage is low or high, you may
    experience some game problems.  Adjust your voltage
    to read 5.2 volts across an IC on the PCB.  Exit this
    screen and re-enter to update your voltage history.
    Sign Test
    (Tournament Version Only)
    This test checks the integrity of the connection from the
    PCB to the LED sign.  Press the LEFT or RIGHT
    button to activate the sign test.  The LED sign will
    display the code version number, followed by a string of
    letters and numbers, then a solid bar will scroll across
    the display.

    APPENDIX A
    General Troubleshooting
    Phone Line Connection Problems (Tournament Version Only)
    SymptomProbable CauseSolution
    Your game is unable to make an initial call
    to ITS.Improper phone connection. Double check all of the cable connections to
    make sure they are placed and connected
    properly.
    Be sure the cables are plugged all the way
    into their connectors. A click should be
    heard when a proper connection is made.
    Make sure the modem is switched ON and
    its power supply is connected.
    Enter Test Mode and go to the Tournament
    Menu. Under Tournament Operator
    Adjustables, set FORCE TOURNAMENT
    UPLOAD to YES. Exit Test Mode and try
    again.
    Modem in lost state. Turn the game OFF then ON again.
    During setup, the text message on the screen
    says MODEM DIALING and quickly
    changes to MODEM HANGING UP.No dial tone. Check for a dial tone by plugging in a
    regular telephone into the extra jack on the
    modem. A dial tone should also be heard
    from the phone.
    Double check all of the cable connections.
    Be sure the game is connected to a direct
    outside line. ITS will not work if connected
    through certain phone systems. A fax or
    credit card line may be used.
    Make sure the modem is switched ON and
    its power supply is connected.
    Set outside line access number, if needed

    Wrong setting in the Tournament Operator
    Adjustables.Be sure all the settings in the Tournament
    Operator Adjustables are correct. Refer to
    Tournament Operator Adjustables on page

    Modem connects but does not transfer data. Bad modem or ID number. Enter Test Mode and verify the ID number
    at the top of the screen.  If the ID number is
    not valid, call Incredible Technologies
    Service Department.
    Be sure the game is connected to a direct
    outside line.  ITS will not work if connected
    through certain phone systems.  A fax or
    credit card line may be used.
    Line is busy. A normally good call is sometimes cut off
    or interrupted by a busy signal or a noisy
    line.  Wait and the game will try to call
    again automatically; or go into Test Mode
    and force a phone call from the Tournament
    Operator Adjustables menu.
    Turn the game OFF then ON again.
    Modem transfers data but the screen reads
    CALL IN UNSUCCESSFUL.Improper connection. Be sure the game is connected to a direct
    outside line.  ITS will not work if connected
    through certain phone systems.  A fax or
    credit card line may be used.
    If the line is being shared, the other phone,
    fax or credit card machine may be trying to
    make a call.  Wait a few minutes and try
    again.
    A loose connection or bad wire may be the
    cause.  Make sure all connections are
    securely in place.
    Modem in lost state. Turn the game OFF then ON again.
