    							Taking Videos in Intelligent Auto Mode
    You can record without worrying about the setting details by using the IntelligentAuto mode. Settings such as exposure and focus will be adjusted automaticallyto suit the shooting conditions.

    In case of specific shooting scenes such as person etc., its icon is displayedon the screen.

    Before recording an important scene, it is recommended to conduct a trialrecording.

    This unit is a microcomputer-controlled device. Electrostatic discharge,external noise and interference (from a TV, a radio, etc.) might prevent it fromfunctioning properly. In such a case, turn off the power, then remove the ACadapter and battery pack. This unit will be reset.

    Make a backup of important recorded data.It is recommended to copy your important recorded data to a DVD or otherrecording media for storage.JVC will not be responsible for any lost data.

    Check the remaining recording time in the media before you start shooting. Ifthere is not enough space, move (copy) the data to a computer or disc.

    When there are many files in the media, it may take time for them to bedisplayed on the playback screen. Wait for a while as the access lamp appearsblinking, which indicates normal operation.

    Depending on the shooting conditions, the four corners of the screen mayappear dark, but this is not a malfunction. In this case, change the shootingconditions by moving the zoom lever, etc.
    Zooming
    The angle of view can be adjusted using zoom.
    0 Use the W end (wide angle end) to shoot a wider field of view.
    0 Use the T end (telephoto end) to magnify the subject for shooting.

    enlarged.

    							Manual Recording

    							Scene Selection
    Common scenes that are often encountered can be recorded with the mostsuitable settings.

    							Adjusting Focus Manually
    Set this when the focus is not clear in Intelligent Auto or when manual
    focusing is desired.

    A subject that is focused at the telephoto (T) end remains in focus when
    it is zoomed out to the wide angle (W) end.

    							Adjusting Brightness
    You can adjust the brightness to your preferred level.

    							Setting White Balance
    You can set the color tone to suit the light source.

    							Setting Backlight Compensation
    You can correct the image when the subject appears too dark due to
    backlight.

    0 If multiple faces are detected, the face that is closest to the camera
    will be focused.
    5 Start recording.

    When “FACE PRIORITY AE/AF” is set to “ON”, the following settings willchange.- If “SCENE SELECT” is set to “SPOTLIGHT”, it will be switched to “OFF”.- If “FOCUS” is set to “MANUAL”, it will be switched to “AUTO”.- If “BACKLIGHT COMP.” is set to “ON”, it will be switched to “OFF”.
    0When the following settings are made, “FACE PRIORITY AE/AF” will
    switch to “OFF”.
    - When “SCENE SELECT” is set to “SPOTLIGHT”
    - When “FOCUS” is set to “MANUAL”
    - When “BACKLIGHT COMP.” is set to “ON”
    Memo : 
    0 The camera is able to detect up to 16 faces.
    0 Some faces may not be detected depending on the shooting environment.
    0 If appropriate results cannot be obtained, record with “FACE PRIORITY
    AE/AF” set to “OFF”.Reducing Camera Shake
    When the image stabilizer is set, camera shake during video recording can
    be effectively reduced.Memo : To select/move cursor towards up/left or down/right, press the button UP/<

    3Select “ON” or “ON (AIS)” to activate the image stabilizer and press OK.
