6-1. Troubleshooting
Before asking for repair, please check your connection, settings and operation once again. \bf the trou\fle cannot \fe corrected, 
please contact you\fir dealer/distri\futo\fir for instructions\fi or repair. 
6-1-1. Problems and where to check

The projector cannot \fe t\fiurned on. Check to see if AC\fi power is supplied\fi to the projector.
Make certain that the main\fi power switch is O\fiN.
Check to see wheth\fier the panel key l\fiock function is ac\fitivated. \bf so, the\fi main unit’s control 
\futtons are locked and do no\fit work.
\bs the temperature inside the projector too high? W\fihen the inside tem\fiperature is too high, the \fi
protective function \fidoes not allow you\fir projector to \fe turned on. Wait some time and \fithen turn 
it on.
Are  you  using  the  projector  at  high  elevations  with  an  altitude  of  approximately  5500  feet/1600 
meters or higher? The cooling fan settings need to \fe configured when using the projector at high 
elevations. Please\fi contact your deal\fier/distri\futor for \fiinstructions.
The image cannot \fe\fi projected. Check to see if th\fie connected input \fihas \feen selected.
Check to see if a \fica\fle is properly connected t\fio the input terminal.
Check to see wheth\fier the douser is c\filosed.
Check to see if th\fie settings are all adjusted properly.
The image is distor\fited. Check to see if th\fie protractor is properly set up.
The image is \flurred. Make certain that the lens\fi is properly focused.
Check to see if th\fie screen and a projector are installed at cor\firect angles.
The projection distance \fimay \fe larger than \fithe focusing range.\fi
See if the lens an\fid other parts have condensati\fion on them. \bf the \fiprojector is turned on in a 
warm place after stor\fiage in a cold place\fi, the lens and oth\fier optical compone\fints inside may 
develop condensati\fion. \bn such a case,\fi please wait sever\fial minutes until t\fihe condensation 
disappears.

6-3. Operation using an HTTP\l browser
6-3-1. Overview 
The use of HTTP server functions will allow control of the projector from a we\f \frowser. Please \fe sure to use “Microsoft \bnternet 
Explorer 4.x” or a higher\fi version for the w\fie\f \frowser. 
This device uses “JavaScript” and “Cookies” and the \frowser should \fe set to accept these functions. The setting method will 
vary  depending  on  the  version  of  the  \frowser.  Please  refer  to  the  help  files  and  the  other  information  provided  in  your 
software. 
NOTEThe  display’s  or  \futton’s  response  can  \fe  slowed  down  or  operation  may  not  \fe  accepted  depending  on  the 
settings of your ne\fitwork. 
Should this happen\fi, consult your net\fiwork administrator\fi. 
The projector may not respond if its \futtons are repeatedly pressed in rapid intervals. Should this happen, wait 
a moment and repeat. 
Access is gained to\fi the HTTP server f\fiunctions \fy and spe\ficifying
http:///index.html 
in the entry column of the UR\fiL.
6-3-2. Preparation before use
Make network conne\fictions and set up \fithe projector and confirm that it is compl\fiete \fefore engaging in \frowser operations. \fi
Operations with a \frowser that uses a proxy server may not \fe possi\fle depending on the type of proxy server and the setting 
method. Although the type of proxy server will \fe a factor, it is possi\fle that items that have actually \feen set will not \fe dis-
played depending on the effectiveness of the cache, and the contents set from a \frowser not \fe reflected in operation. \bt is 
recommended that a \fiproxy server not \fe u\fised unless it is u\finavoida\fle.
6-3-3. Handling of the add\lress for operation via a browser
Regarding the actual address that is entered for the address or entered to the URL column when operation of the projector is 
via a \frowser, the host name can \fe used as it is with the host name corresponding to the \bP address of the projector has \feen 
registered  in  the  domain  name  server  \fy  a  network  administrator,  or  the  host  name  corresponding  to  the  \bP  address  of  the 
projector has \feen se\fit in the “HOSTS” fil\fie of the computer \fi\feing used. 
(Example 1) When the host name \lof the projector has been set to “pj.nec.co.jp”

6-3-4. Structure of the HTTP server
    
PowerControls the power to y\fiour projector. 
• On: Turns the power on. 
•  Off: Turns the power off. 
Lamp Turn the lamp on/off. 
• On: Turns the lamp on. 
•  Off: Turns the lamp off.
Title List Displays titles set\fi in the projector (such as i\finput port, screen type, and titl\fie).
Check, and the tit\file will \fe changed.\fi
Basic Control Displays the \fasic \ficontrol items.
Lens Controls the lens opera\fition.
Shift  : Shifts the projected screen upward. 
 : Shifts the projected screen downward. 
 : Shifts the projected screen leftward. 
 : Shifts the projected screen rightward. 
 : Stops the shift\fiing. 
Shifting can also \f\fie stopped \fy clicki\fing the same \futton \fione more time. 
Zoom  : Zooms up the le\fins. 
 : Zooms down the \filens. 
 : Stops the zoomi\fing. 
Zooming the can als\fio \fe stopped \fy cli\ficking the same \futt\fion one more time. 
Focus  : Focuses up the \filens. 
 : Focuses down th\fie lens. 
 : Stops the focus\fiing. 
Focusing can also \f\fie stopped \fy clicki\fing the same \futton \fione more time. 
Mute Picture Click and the dous\fier closes and the \fiprojected picture disappears. Clic\fik once again and th\fie 
picture will \fe projected again.
Projector Status Displays the condit\fiion of the projector. 
• Lamp Usage: Display\fis the hours of lam\fip use. 
•  Lamp Power: Display\fis lamp output (%).\fi 
•  Lamp Status: Displa\fiys the status of t\fihe lamp (On: Lights\fi / Off: Off). 
•  Error Status: Displays\fi the status of err\fiors occurring withi\fin the projector. 
•  Refresh: Updates the d\fiisplay of the foll\fiowing conditions.
