    Basic operationSeveral  settings can be adjusted using the menu.
    Example :  Auto po wer of f time  setting
    1. Press the MENU  button.
    2. Select the DET AIL MENU and pr ess the ENTER  button  (or 
     
    bu tton) .
    3. Press the 
     or   button to select INS TALLA TION. 
    4. Press the ENTER  button (or

    Impor tant: 
    • When the  button doesn’ t function, unplug the power co rd from  the 
    wa ll outlet.  Wait about 10 minutes, plug the power co rd in, and tr y 
    again.
    • A fter selecting the items mark ed with , press the ENTER  but-
    ton.
    Me nu Option sSet the f ollowing options pr ovided in the  respectiv e menu s.
    1.IMA GE menu
    • Y ou cannot adjust TINT when the TV50 (P AL, SECAM) signal is inputted.
    • Y ou cannot adjust COLOR TEMP . when WALL SCREEN in the INST ALLATION menu is set to other than OFF.
    • W hen COMPUTER 1 or COMPUTER 2 or HD MI is selected, TINT do not work.
    • W hen COLOR ENHANCER is  switched, pr ojected images ma y be distorted.
    • C aptions ar e not displ ayed  while in formation about the menu,  volume setting, or input signal selection is being displa yed on  the sc reen.
    • T he closed caption function displa ys text information included in  the NTSC signal, which is main ly used for TV br oadcasting in  NorthA meri ca.

    • The ST ANDA RD lamp mode is acti vated  by def ault whene ver the pr ojector is tu rned on. When the LO W LAMP MODE has been chosen, th e
    de fault ST ANDARD lamp mode is s witched to the LO W lamp mode in 1 minute .
    • I n AUDIO INPUT , HDMI audio  is selected when the Input Sour ce is HDMI input.  The audio of AUDIO 1,  AUDIO 2,  AUDIO 3, and MIX   c annot 
    be selected .

    BO ARD/WHITE BO ARD Selects a desi
    red setting based on the color of the scr een or wall 
    on which im ages are projected.  When selecting a setting other 
    than BL ACK BO ARD/WHITE BO ARD, yo u can ne-tune the color 
    tone  to the desi red le vel on the 1 to 5 scal e. (See page 18.)
    LAMP MODE ST
    AND ARD Select this setting when 
    you wa nt to vie w images in a well-lit  
    ro om.
    LO W Select this setting when 
    you wa nt to view images at a moderate 
    light intensit y. Th e operating sound is consequent ly re duced, and 
    th e lamp lif etime becomes longer .
    • W hen this mode is  switched, projected images ma y ick er.
    • I f this mode is fr equently switched, the lamp ma y be deterio-
    ra ted.  
    ST ANDBY MODE ST
    ANDARD LAN can be activated in ST
    ANDARD MODE. MONITOR OUT 
    cannot be acti vated.
    LO W Po
    wer consumption can be lo wered when  selecting LOW. Ho w-
    ev er, LAN  and MONI TOR OUT cannot be acti vated.
    AU DIO INPUT AU
    TO If 
    AU TO is  selected, selects  AUDIO 1 when the input sour ce is 
    COMPUTER 1, selects  AUDIO 2 when the input sou rce is CO M-
    PUTER 2, selects A UDIO 3 when the input sou rce is  VIDEO/S -
    VIDEO,  selects HDMI when the input source  is HDMI.
    AU DIO 1/A UDIO 2/A UDIO 3 S elect the audio input.
    MI X
     Selects MIX signal of AUDIO 1 and AUDIO 2.  You can change the 
    balance of  AUDIO 1/ AUDIO 2 using MI X .
    AU TO PO WER ON ON/OFF When this mode is set to ON, the lamp 
    is automatically lit when 
    th e po we r co rd is plugged in the  wall outlet. Select ON when  you 
    set the pr ojector at the ceiling.
    • W hen the lamp is of f, the pr ojector is  in standb y. Use the 
    re mote cont rol to tu rn on the lamp .
    AU TO PO WER OFF OFF/5-60 min Selects a desir
    ed timer setting until the pr ojector enters the 
    st andb y mode when ther e is no signal input  from the sour ce.

     Use to capture the screen  for the splash sc reen. (See page 33.)

    BA CK COLOR BLUE/BLACK/IM AGE Selects the ba
    ckground co lor that is displ ayed when there is no

    ckground, either BL ACK, or  IMAGE,

    will be displ ayed when the  AV MUTE  button is pr essed. When

    4.SIGNAL menu
    • T hough horiz ontal strips  ma y appear on the enlar ged projected imag e, such symptom is not a malfunction.
    • W hen you change the horiz ontal or vertical position to a la rge ex tent, noise  may appea r.
    • T he adjustab le range of the  vertical position  varies  depending on the type of the input signal. Though the image ma y stay in  the same position  
    ev en  when the setting  value is changed, such symptom is not a malfunction .
    • S HUTTER will not work  correctly  during  keystone adjustment.
    • W hen you incr ease the setting  value of  OVER SCAN, noise ma y appear on the screen.
    • S ee pages 28 and 29  for the detailed setting pr ocedure.
    Important:
    • Y ou can set the IMAGE, SIGNAL, SIGNAL-RESOLUTION (MEMORIZE) and SIGNAL-USER menus only when the signal is supplied.

    Use to select the setting of RESOLUTION (MEMORIZE) al ready sa ved.
    Impossib le to select if no setting has been sa ved.  AU TO is selected  by 
    de fault. It optimiz es the signal  form at automatically depending on the 
    type of video signal supplied fr om the computer. Press the ENTER  but-
    ton to clear the setting al ready sa ved.
    RESOLUTION
    (MEMORIZE      ) The 
    current resolution  is displayed.  To change the  current setting,  press 
    the ENTER  button to disp lay the RESOLUTION (MEMORIZE) menu. 
    The ne w setting can be sa ved  to MEMO RY 1 or MEMO RY 2.
    VERT ICAL
    FREQUENC Y- The 
    vertical fr equency of the  currently pr ojected video signal is dis-
    pl ay ed.
    HO RIZONT AL
    FREQUENC Y- The ho
    rizo ntal fr equency of the curr ently projected video signal is dis-
    pl ay ed.
    HORIZ. PIXELS 640-1920 The 
    number  of ho rizontal  pixe ls of  the  curr ently  projected  video signal  is 
    displa yed. When  you change the curr ent setting, select EXECUTE, and 
    then pr ess the ENTER  button, the image is automatically adjusted  
    acco rding to the re solution you set. The adjustment  result can be sa ved 
    to  MEMO RY 1 or MEMO RY 2.
    VER T. LINE S 3 50-1200 The number of 
    vertical pi xels of the curr ently projected video si gnal is 
    displa yed. When  you change the curr ent setting, select EXECUTE, and 
    then pr ess the ENTER  button, the image is automatically adjusted  
    acco rding to the re solution you set. The adjustment  result can be sa ved 
    to  MEMO RY 1 or MEMO RY 2.
    EXECUTE OK
     Press the ENTER  button to star t the automatic adjustment. At the com-
    plet ion of the automatic adjustment, a message is displ ayed  and  you 
    can sa ve th e adjustment  result to MEMO RY 1 or MEMO RY 2.

     The process to change the curr ent resolution is canceled and the SIG-
    NAL menu is displa yed.
    HORIZ. POSITION 0-99 9 U se to adjust the horizo ntal position of the pr ojected image.

    Adjusting projected imag es
    To adjust the brightness (CONTRAST and BRIGHT -
    NESS):
    Y ou can ma ke adjustments of the br ightness of the projected image 
    using the men u.
    (See page 20 or 22 f or the menu options.)
    1. Displa y the QUICK MENU or the IM AGE menu.
    2. Select CONTRAST or BR IGHTNESS by pr essing the 
     or  
    bu tton.
    3. Adjust the selected option  by pr essing the 
     or  bu tton .
    To cancel the menu :
    4.Press the MENU  button.
    CONTRAS TSelect to adjust the contrast of the image . Every time the  bu tton is  
    pr es sed,  the image  becomes  brighter  and more clearly  dened.  Every 
    time the 
     button is pr essed, the image becomes da rker and less 
    clearly dened.
    BRIGHTNESSEv ery time the  button is pr essed, the image becomes br ighter.

    To adjust the color (COLOR and TINT):
    You can adjust the color of the pr ojected image using the menu.

    2. Select COLOR or TINT  by pr essing the

    • C OLOR and TINT is selectable only  when the  input signal is  
    VIDE O.
    • T INT is selectable only when the NTSC or 4.43NTSC signal  
    is input .

    To sharpen  or soften  the projected  image (SHARPNESS) :
    You can adjust the shar pness of the projected image using the me nu.

    About color temperature
    There are diff erent  variat ions  in white  color. Color  temperatur e is a 
    wa y to sh ow these  variat ions in whit e. When the tempe ratu re is  
    lo w,  white appears  reddish. When the temper ature rises,  white 
    appears  bluish.  For ex ample, yo u can change the temper ature 
    using the  follow ing pr ocedur es.
    To  raise the temperatur e: Increase CONTRAST B (b lue) and 
    decr ease CONT RAST R (red).
    To  reduce the temperatur e: Decrease CONT RAST B (blue) and 
    incr ease CONTRAST R (r ed).
    • I f yo u set CONTRAST R, G, and B to negati ve va lues , the 
    brightness  of the  image  cant retain  the original  even  when  you 
    maximize  the  value  of CONTRA ST in the  QUICK  MENU  or the 
    IM AG E menu .
    Color Enhance rYou can set user -dened values  for the brightness and hue using the 
    menu. (See page 22  for the menu option s.)
    1. Display  the IMAGE menu .
    2. Select COLOR ENHANCER  by pr essing the 
     or  button .
    3. Select USER   by  pr essing the  
     or  button.
    4. Press the ENTER  button .
    5. Select a setting  you w ant to set.
    GAMMA modeUse this setting to set an optimal gamma  value and modulation of  
    lamp powe r. The le vel of br ightness can be adjusted  for subdued 
    colors .
    DY NAMIC ............Select when vi ewing cris p, clear  images in a 
    br ightly  lit room or st rong da ylight.
    The leve l of  brightness  is adjusted  to higher le vels.
    NA TURA L........... .Select when vie wing images of which colors ar e 
    more  fa ithfully  repr oduced. 
    The  leve l of  brightness  and vividness  is adjusted 
    to optimal le vels.
    DE TAIL ................ Select when  viewing  images  of wh ich  brightness

    Ho w to adjust the computer imageThis  projector automatically  selects a pr oper signal  form at accor ding to the  type of video signal supplied fr om the computer. H ow ever, video signals  
    fr om  the computer  may not  be pr ojected  correctly depending  on the  types  of the  computer  and images  to be  projected.  In such a  case , ma ke ad just -
    ment accor ding to the o wchart belo w.

    case,  yo u can  reduce such str eak noise by enabling the  LPF. Howe ver, pr ojected images become softened slightly .
    Simple method to adjust the image positio n
    To adjust the horizontal position:
    1. Align  the left edge of the image with the left side of the scr een by adjusting  HORIZ. POSITION.  Then, align the righ t edge of  the  image  with 
    the  right side of the sc reen  by adjusting  TRAC KING .
    2. Repeat step 1 ab ove to complete the adjustment of the ho rizo ntal position .
    To adjust the ve rtical position:
    3. Align the upper edge of the image with the upper side of the scr een by adjusting VE RT. POSITION.
