51 To enjoy program repeat play If REPEAT MODE is pressed during program play (see page 52), the display changes as follows: To return to program play Press REPEAT MODE until “ OFF ” is displayed. Clearing the program When the program playback screen is displayed. • To clear the last program one by one Move to “Clear last” and press SELECT. (Pressing CANCEL on the remote control also clears the last program.) • To clear the whole program Move to “Clear all” and press SELECT. (The program is also cleared when the player is set to the standby mode or turned off, or OPEN CLOSE is pressed.) Random play [ Video CD / CD ] Press PLAY MODE twice in the stop mode. The random playback screen appears on the TV monitor. 1 • To exit the screen Press PLAY MODE once. The player plays the tracks on the disc in random order. 2Press PLAY. (See page 57.) This operation works only with discs on which multiple audio soundtrack languages are recorded. 55 Viewing from another angle [ DVD ] Some DVDs contain scenes which have been shot simultaneously from a number of different angles. For these discs, the same scene can be viewed from these different angles with the ANGLE button. (The angles depend on the disc used.) Changing subtitle language [ DVD ] 1Press DISPLAY button to display the player information. • When no subtitles are recorded, “– –” will be displayed instead of the language number. It is possible to change the subtitle language to a different language from the one selected at the initial settings if available. (See page 57.) 57 Selecting rating level [DVD] At the initial settings screen (on page 56) Press the SELECT ( , ) button to select “2 Ratings” and press ENTER. 1 This is to disable the playing of some DVDs which are unsuitable for some audiences, for example, children. • Some DVDs are encoded with a specific rating level. If the rating level of the disc is higher than that preset in the initial settings operation, playback of the disc will be prohibited. In this case, remove the disc, and unlock the player. For your reference: • The numeric buttons can also be used instead of the SELECT ( , ) button for selecting items or values. To change the password Press “2”, enter a new 4-digit password and press ENTER, then press ENTER again. To unlock the player temporarily Press “4” and then press ENTER. • The rating is unlocked temporarily only for the current disc. The player is locked again when OPEN / CLOSE is pressed or the player is set to the standby mode. To finish setting without changing the rating level Press “0”.
