    Set the recording/playback switch to 
    the playback [Q]. ( P18 )You can perform category playback by 
    classifying pictures according to the 
    recording information such as scene mode 
    ([PORTRAIT], [SCENERY], etc.).

    To register the category slide show
    If you register a category, you can easily 
    play back the pictures in the set category 
    as a slide show 
    ( P71 ).
    On step 2, press e/r/w/q to select the 
    category to play back and then press 
    [DISPLAY] to set.
    Select [SLIDESHOW SETUP] using r 
    and press [MENU/SET].
    Select [YES] using e and press [MENU/
    SET].
    You can register only one category 
    slide show. If registered already, it will 
    switch to the new registration.
    If there are 1000 or more pictures, you 
    can make a slide show with up to 999 
    pictures. ■

    The motion picture recording time B 
    is displayed on the LCD monitor. After 
    playback starts, the elapsed playback 
    time is displayed on the bottom right of 
    the LCD monitor. For example, 8 minutes 
    and 30 seconds is displayed as [8m30s].
    The cursor displayed during playback 
    corresponds to e/r/w/q. 
    To stop motion picture playback
    Press r.
    Fast forwarding/Fast rewinding
    During motion picture playback, keep 
    pressing w/q.
    q: Fast forward
    w: Fast rewind
    When releasing the button, it turns to 
    normal motion picture playback.
    To pause
    Press e during motion picture playback.
    Press e again to cancel pause.
    Frame-by-frame forward/reverse 
    viewing
    Press w/q during pause. •

    To hear audio recorded with movie, 
    recording must be played back on a 
    computer or TV. This camera is not 
    equipped with a speaker 
    ( P87 ,  94 )The fi le format that can be played back 
    with this camera is QuickTime Motion 
    JPEG.
    Please note that the bundled software 
    includes QuickTime to play back motion 
    picture fi les created with the camera on 
    the PC 
    ( P87 ).
    Some QuickTime Motion JPEG fi les 
    recorded by a PC or other equipment 
    may not be played back with this camera.
    When playing back motion pictures 
    that have been recorded with other 
    equipment, the quality of pictures may be 
    deteriorated or it may not be possible to 
    play them back.
    When using a high capacity card, it is 
    possible that fast rewinding may be 
    slower than usual.
    You cannot use the following functions 
    with motion pictures.
    Playback zoom (While playing back or 
    pausing motion pictures)

    Using the  [PLAYBACK] Mode Menu
    You can use various functions in playback 
    mode to rotate pictures, set protection for 
    them etc.
    Press [MENU/SET].
    Press e/r to select the menu 
    item and then press q.

    When saving the edited picture in [TEXT 
    STAMP], [RESIZE], [TRIMMING] and 
    [ASPECT CONV.], the picture will be 
    saved as new fi le. Check remaining 
    capacity of the card or built-in memory

    Delete the title (for [SINGLE] only)
    In step 2 when [SINGLE] is selected, 
    delete all the texts, select [EXIT], and 
    press [MENU/SET].
    Press [MENU/SET] twice to close the 
    menu.
    Registered text can be displayed on the 
    screen of this unit. (Displayed on slide if 
    too many texts are input.)
    The name setting of [BABY] or [PET] 
    mode can be registered by using the 
    same operation as “Single setting”. 
    However, the name setting and [TITLE 
    EDIT] cannot be registered at the same 
    time.
    You can use the software 
    [PHOTOfunSTUDIO-viewer-] on the 
    CD-ROM (supplied) to print the text 
    (comments). For details, refer to the 
    operating instructions (PDF fi le) of the 
    software.
    Example of text entry
    In case of entering [LUMIX]:
    1 Move e/r/w/q to move the cursor to 
    [L] and then press [MENU/SET].
    2 Move e/r/w/q to move the cursor to 
    [U] and then press [MENU/SET].
    3 Move e/r/w/q to move the cursor to 
    [M] and then press [MENU/SET].
    4 Move e/r/w/q to move the cursor to 
    [I] and then press [MENU/SET].
    5 Move e/r/w/q to move the cursor to 
    [X] and then press [MENU/SET]. ■

    [ TEXT STAMP]Stamping the text on your pictures
    You can stamp the set text, date and time 
    of recording, the age and the travel date on 
    the recorded pictures.
    This function is suitable when you print
    4˝ × 6˝/10 × 15 cm images. (Images are 
    resized when you add the text to the 
    pictures taken with a resolution of more 
    than [
    ].)
    Select [
     TEXT STAMP] from 
    playback menu ( P74 ).
    Press e/r to select [SINGLE] or 
    [MULTI] and press [MENU/SET].

    then specify printing the date when 
    you order prints or on a printer, both 
    dates will be printed and may overlap. 
    Make sure there is some space available 
    on the built-in memory or card.
    The text may be cut off with some printers.The printed texts may be blurred on the

    Once you have added the text stamp you 
    will no longer be able to use the following 
    functions with the pictures.

    the fi le size of the picture in cases when 
    it needs to be attached to an e-mail or
