• To close the flash securely, press the 
center of the flash until it clicks. When you

The flash is automatically activated 
according to the recording condition. It 
reduces the red-eye phenomenon (eyes of 
the subject appear red in photo flash) by 
triggering the flash before actually 
recording the picture.
After that, the flash is activated for actual 
recording again.

The available flash range to take pictures 
depends on the ISO sensitivity selected 
(P84).
• The available flash range is an 
approximation.
• Refer to P29 for the focus range.
• Refer to P84 for the ISO sensitivity.
• If ISO sensitivity is set to [AUTO] or [ ] 
when using the flash, it will be 
automatically increased to a maximum of

Adjust the flash output when the subject is 
small or reflection ratio is extremely high or 
low.

Compensating the Exposure
 
Use this function when you cannot achieve 
appropriate exposure due to the difference of 
brightness between the subject and the background.

In this mode, 3 pictures are automatically 
recorded by each press of the shutter 
button according to the compensation 
range of the exposure.
You can select the desired exposure 
among the 3 types of pictures.
