This table shows the relationship between lamp Lit/Unlit/blinking states and the
Memory Card Video Recorder’s operating status.
: Lit : Normal blinking : Unlit : Fast blinking (about three times/sec)
: Blinking consisting of short off intervals combined with long on intervals
∗1 When there is little space left on a P2 card (about 30 minutes or less) or more
than 1900 recording files (up to 2000 files) have been recorded, the [REC]
    lamp will blink continuously.
∗2 If the error is related to the status of the P2 card, the error details will appear
in the status display of the On-Screen Display. See page 21, “Viewing Memory
    Card Video Recorder status”.
    Notes:
    • If pressing the [REC] button or entering a recording trigger fails to start
recording, the [REC] lamp blinks at a high rate.
    • The [BUSY] lamp blinks when accessing the P2 card immediately after
opening or closing the Memory Card Video Recorder’s P2 card slot cover.

    Troubleshooting
Before requesting service, check the points listed below. If the problem persists,
    contact your supplier.
      Starting up
      Operation
    Symptom Remedy
Power does not come on.• Make sure the control panel cable is connected
    properly.
    Power gets turned off
automatically. • If you have set the PowerOff Time (see page 32)
and are running the recorder with the ignition
switch at LOCK (OFF), turn the ignition switch
on (see page 13) and reboot the recorder.
    • If the operating environment is hotter than the
    recommended temperature, the Memory Card
Video Recorder may turn off for safety reasons. If
this happens, wait for the operating environment
to cool down before using the recorder.
    Symptom Remedy
    The unit does not respond
    or another problem has
occurred.• Hold down the front panel [REC] and [STOP]
buttons for about 10 seconds to reset the
Memory Card Video Recorder. All lamps go off
for one to two seconds after which they all light
for about one or two seconds to indicate that the
    recorder is being reset.
    Recorder was restarted
without performing a reset.• If a P2 card is removed during data access
(the [BUSY] lamp is lit), the P2 card slot may
become disabled. Wait awhile to allow the
Memory Card Video Recorder to reboot before
    reinserting the P2 card.
    • When auto maintenance is set to “ON”, the
recorder reboots at the set interval.

    							54
      Recording
    Symptom Remedy
Cannot start recording.• Check if the P2 card slots of the Memory Card
Video Recorder contain a P2 card.
    •
Make sure the P2 card slot cover on the Memory
    Card Video Recorder is closed.
    • The P2 card may be full. Make sure the card has
free space, and free up space after uploading
    files, etc.
    • Make sure that the write-protect switch of the P2
card is not set to PROTECT.
    • Make sure the GPIO/SERIAL port and recording
    trigger conditions are set properly.
