Check for and install available 
software updates. 
Note : This page only appears if it is supported by 
your wireless service provider. 
1.  From a Home screen, tap   Apps 
 > 
 Settings . 
2.	 Tap 

Software update, tap an item, and then 
follow the prompts: 
• Download updates manually: Check for 
software updates. 
• Scheduled software updates: Set a time to 
automatically check for and install software 
updates. 
• Update PRL : Download and update the PRL 
(preferred roaming list) automatically. 
• Update Pro�le: Automatically update your 
online user pro�le information.

legal information, hardware and 
software versions, and more. 
1.  From a Home screen, tap    Apps > 
 Settings . 
2.	 Tap 

About device, and then tap items for more 
details: 
• Download updates manually: Check for 
software updates. 
• Scheduled software updates: Set a time to 
automatically check for and install software 
updates. 
Note : The two options above only appear if there is 
no System update page. 
• Status: View the status of the battery, network, 
and other information about your device. 
• Legal information: View legal notices 
and other legal information, including your 
embedded Samsung legal information. 
• Device name: View and change your device’s 
name. 
• Additional device information includes the 
Model number, Android version, Build number, 
and more.
