TOOLS for UR28M is necessary when connecting the device to a computer. When you install the TOOLS for UR28M, “Yamaha 
Steinberg USB Driver” and “Steinberg UR28M Applications” will be installed. The “Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver” allows 
communication between the device and a computer. The “Steinberg UR28M Applications” allows setting the parameters of the 
device from a computer or using the Link function between the device and Cubase series. The “Steinberg UR28M Applications” 
consist of four software components; “dspMixFx UR28M,” “UR28M Extension,” “Sweet Spot Morphing Channel Strip,” and 
“REV-X.”
TOOLS for UR824 is necessary when connecting the device to a computer. When you install the TOOLS for UR824, “Yamaha

							The instructions on installing the TOOLS for UR28M are the same as those applicable when installing this software by using the 
“TOOLS for UR28M” CD-ROM supplied with the UR28M. For instructions on installation, refer to the Getting Started manual of 
the UR28M (printed booklet) supplied with the UR28M. To install this software, double-click “setup.exe” (for Windows) or 
“TOOLS for UR28M.mpkg” (for Mac) in the compressed file that you have downloaded.
NOTE
• If the same software components have already been installed in your computer, you can use the same procedure as described in the Installation 
instructions to update the software.
• The install procedure for Mac OS X 10.7 is the same as Mac OS X 10.6.
• If you do not have the Getting Started manual (printed booklet), you can download the corresponding PDF file from the Steinberg web site.
