    Ifthe spring haspopped outand
    uncoiled:
    • Wind upthe spring clockwise, from
    the inside outwards, untilitsoverall
    diameter is
    50mm(2).
    • Usepointed nosepliers togrip
    spring about10mm
    (318)fromthe
    outer loopandrefit
    it.
    • Install therope rotor.

    Tensioning therewind spring
    •Make aloopinthe starter ropeand
    use itto turn therope rotor seven
    full revolutions counterclockwise.
    • Hold therotor steady -straighten
    the twisted rope-release therotor.
    • Letgoofrope slowly sothat
    it
    winds ontotherotor.
    Thestarter gripmust befirmly seatedin
    therope guide bush.
    If grip droops toone side:
    • Add onemore turnonrope rotor
    to increase springtension.
    Whenstarter ropeisfully extended it
    must bepossible torotate therotor
    -another halfturn.
    • Ifthis isnot the case, thespring
    is overtensioned andcould break.
    • Take oneturn ofrope offthe rotor.
    • Refit andsecure thestarter cover
    and machine support.

    Iftheengineislow onpower, checkthe
    spark arresting screeninsidethemuffler.
    • Pulloffthe spark plug
    terminal (1).
    • Take outshroud mounting
    screws (2).
    • Remove theshroud (3). •
    Take outthescrews (4).
    • Remove thecover (5).
    • Remove thespark arresting
    screen (6).
    • Clean sparkarresting screen
    if
    necessary.
    •
    Ifscreenisdamaged orcoked up,
    fit anew one.
    • Refit thespark arresting screen.
    • Fitthe cover.
    • Fitthe shroud. For
    periods ofabout 3months orlonger:
    • Drain andclean thefuel tank.
    • Runengine untilcarburetor
    isdry­
    this helps prevent thecarburetor
    diaphragms stickingtogether.
    • Remove, cleanandinspect the
    ClLttingtool.
    • . Thoroughly cleanthemachine ­
    pay special attention
    tothecylinder
    fins and airfilter.
    • Store themachine
    inadry,high or
    locked location -out ofthe reach
    of children andother unauthorized
    persons.
