TA SCAMs Model 130 cassette deck is the bestvalue for mix down applications. The 130s threehead design places the pla y head after therecord head, so you can monitor the sound fromtape during mixdown, rather than just listen tothe audio being sent to the recorder . Of course, with high sonic performance, detailed metering, and complete list of noise reduction options, itsno wonder the 130 is popular with users of alllevels.

The 130s three head design is k ey in mixdown situations. In a typical cassette deck, there are only two heads. The er ase head erases an y signal previously recorded to the tape, and the other head switches between record or pla yback. So, when you are recording, y ou only know what is being sent to the cassette recorder.
A three headplay, so the signal can be recorded with one head, and pla yed back from the pla y head during the recording process. This allows you to listen to what is going onto the cassette while recording. Listening to the tape as y ou record lets you know instantly if the tape is overloading, or if there are bad sections on the tape. Nolonger will y ou have to w ait until the whole tape is done to knowif the tape is OK!
Also, if an yMPX Filter is in valuable. FM broadcasts actually carry progr am material that can interfere and possibly totally defeat Dolb y noisereduction circuits from being effective. The MPX Filter targets and removes these frequencies from the content to be recorded without creating an y audible artifacts.
Home anMixdown is the obvious application for the 130. Confidence monitoring afforded b y the three head design, combined with the outstanding sonic performance mak e the 130 the best value forcassette recorders.
Music EduFor band, choir , drama, and dance progr ams that need to mak ehigh quality rehearsal and show tapes, the 130 is unbeatable. Often times, users in this application do not ha ve an y formal training in audio recording, and the simple oper ation of the 130limits the possibilities of the wrong button being engaged. Plus, the pitch control offers the ability to make anything from minoradjustments to pitch, or dr astic tempo adjustments easily .
