Planning a route in advance
You can use your GO to plan a route in advance, selecting your starting point 
and your destination.
Here are some more reasons to plan a route in advance:
• Find out how long a journey is going to take before you start.
You can also compare journey times for  the same route at different times of 
the day or on different days of the week. Your TomTom GO uses IQ Routes 
when planning a route. IQ Routes calculates routes based on the real aver-
age speeds measured on roads.

You can access these options for the route you last planned by tapping the 
Details button on the route summary screen.
You can then select from the following options:
Browse as  text
Tap this button for a list of all the turn instructions on the route.
This is very useful if you need to explain a route to someone else.
Browse as images
Tap this button to see each turn in the journey. Tap the right and left arrows 
to move forwards and backwards through the journey.

Voice command and controlInstead of tapping the screen to control your TomTom GO, you can now give 
instructions to your GO using your voice.
For example, to increase the volume on  your GO, you can say, "Increase vol-
ume."
Important: To use command and control, you must have a computer voice 
installed on your TomTom GO. You can install computer voices using 
TomTom HOME.

Your device plans a route from your current position to your Home address.
Tips
• The microphone switches off after a few seconds if you don’t say anything.
• You can stop your device from listening for commands either by tapping  the screen or by saying any of the following commands: Back, Cancel, Quit.

When you say the city name, you are then shown a list of six names that  
match what you said.
Your GO tells you the name at the top of the list. If the name you hear is cor-
rect, then say, "Done" or "OK" or  "Yes" or "One" or tap on the name.
If the city name you hear is not correct, but the name appears in the list, then 
say the number next to the correct name or tap on the correct name.
For example, if the correct name is Rotterdam and this name is number two

Tip: If you say, "Back" when there are no numbers shown on the screen, then 
your GO will return you to the previous screen.
When the number is shown correctly say, "Done" or "OK." Alternatively, 
enter the number by tapping the screen.
To select a crossroads as the location,  say, "Crossing".
Note : You need to say numbers in the sa me language that is used for menu 
buttons.

Your GO recognises place and street names spoken using the local language 
and pronunciation.
It is not possible to use voice address input to say place and street names in 
all countries.You can use speech to enter destinations wherever you see this button.

with detailed information about your current position.

showing you which lane you should be in.
Note: This information is not available for all junctions or in all countries.
