11 Planning a route Important: In the interest of safety and to reduce distractions while you are driving, you should always plan a route before you start driving. To plan a route on your TomTom navigation device, do the following: 1. Tap the screen to open the Main Menu. 2. Tap Navigate to or Drive to. 3. Tap Address. 14 Selecting a route type Every time you plan a route, you can choose to be asked about the type of route you want to plan. To do this, tap Settings then tap Route planning. Select Route types and then tap Ask me every time I plan. The types of route you can choose from are as follows: Fastest route - the route which takes the least time.
