    buttons Press the respective button to select a channel. 
    After	you	input	the	channel	numbers,	press	
    ENTER to direct to the channel immediately, or 
    wait for 3 seconds to change automatically.
    5 - VOL +
    Press	to	adjust	the	volume.
    6 FAV Press this button to show Favorite List and select 
    your favorite channels that have already been 
    stored.
    j To preset favorite channels, set the Favorite 
    option in the Channel menu (see page 16).

    ENTER 
    buttons Press these buttons to navigate the OSD menus. 
    •	
    ▲/▼	-	move	upward/downward	to	select	menu	
    options.
    •	 ◄/►	-	move	to	the	right/left	to	select	the	main

    You	can	also	use	►	to	enter	the	corresponding	
    submenu.
    •  ENTER:	Confirm	the	selection	or	enter	the	
    corresponding submenu. 
    8 INPUT
    Press to display the Source 
    Select list and select the source 
    with	▲/▼.	 
    To	confirm	the	selection,	press	
    ENTER.
    9 PICTURE Press this button repeatedly to select the preset 
    picture mode.  
    Available	options:	Standard,	Movie,	User,	Power	
    Saving, or Dynamic.
    10 SOUND Press this button repeatedly to select the preset 
    sound mode. 
    Available	options:	Standard,	Soft,	User	or	
    Dynamic.
    11 MTS Press this button to choose the available sound 
    output that is preset by TV broadcasting station. 
    Available	options:	Mono,	Stereo,	or	SAP.
    12 MUTE Press to turn off the sound. To restore the sound, 
    press this button again, or press the  VOL+/- 
    button.

    13 RETURN Press to return to the previous channel.
    14 C.C Press to select the Closed Caption menu in the 
    TV	or	
    AV	mode.	
    15 ▼ CH ▲ Decrease or Increase the channel number
    16 GUIDE Press to display the Electronic Program Guide 
    (EPG). It contains the program information for 
    the channel you’re watching.
    17 EXIT Press to exit the OSD menu screen.
    18 MENU
    Press to turn the OSD (On-Screen Display) 
    menu on.
    19 ASPECT Press this button repeatedly to select the screen 
    size.  
    Available	options:	Normal,	Wide,	Cinema,	or	
    Zoom or Full 100%.
    * For Full 100% option, it is only available on 
    HDMI/DVI input source.
    20 SLEEP Press repeatedly to set the sleep timer. The TV 
    will automatically turn off after a preset period of 
    time.  
    Available	options:	OFF,	15	min.,	30	min.,	60	
    min., 90 min., or 120 min..

    Operation
    Turning the TV On and Off
    Press 
     on the remote control.
    You can also use the 
     key on the front side of the panel.
    j If there is no input signal within 10 minutes, TV will be turned off 
    automatically.
    Initial Setup
    If an antenna or cable (without a cable box) is connected to your 
    TV’s	tuner,	you	will	need	to	go	through	an	INITIAL 	SETUP	process	
    in order to watch the TV.  The setup wizard will automatically start 
    when	you	first	turn	on	the	 TV.	
    1.	Press	◄	or	►	button	to	select	the	 Menu Language preference. 
    2.	Press	▲	or	▼	button	to	select	the	options	you	want	to	adjust	 and	Press	◄	or	►	button	to	change	its	value.			
    3.	Press	◄	or	►	buttons	to	select	your	connection	type	between
    	 	Air	(antenna)	or	Cable	and 	press	ENTER to scan for channels. 
    4. The channel scan may take a while to complete, and after it is  done,	the	screen	will	return	to	the	first	found	channel.
    Please Note:
    j  The time setting on the TV will only keep accurate time if 
    you do not unplug or turn off standby power from the TV.
    j  Not	all	broadcasts	are	in	High	Definition	(HD).		Please	refer	to	
    your local broadcasting stations for more information. 
    j  The	HDTV’s	tuner	is	designed	for	HDTV	therefore	requires	a	
    stronger signal than normal TVs.  If you cannot achieve that 
    signal	level	with	your	antenna	or	cable,	your	HDTV	might	lose	
    picture or sound. 
    j  ViewSonic wants to help you save energy! This HDTV meets 
    the ENERGY STAR® guidelines under the default picture 
    setting called POWER SAVING.  Changing this setting or 
    enabling other options will increase power consumption 
    which could possibly exceed the guidelines of ENERGY STAR®.

    Changing Channels
    1.	Using	Channel	ButtonsPress	▼CH▲	to	change	channels,	and	the	 TV	changes	the	
    available	channels	in	sequence.
    2.	Using	Number	Buttons (1)	 ATV
    The	“-”	has	no	function	in	 ATV	mode.	Directly	press	the	number	
    buttons to select channels.
    (2) DTV
    Use	“-”	to	select	the	sub	channel	in	DTV.
    For example: Your sub channel number is 80-3.
    Press	8	→	press	0	→	press	“-”	→	press	3.
    j Return to the previous channel, press  RETURN.
    Adjusting the Volume
    Press VOL +/-	to	adjust	volume.
    To turn off the volume, press MUTE.
    To restore volume, press  MUTE again, or press VOL +/- directly.
    Viewing the Displayed Information
    To display the current information of the LCD TV:
    Press INFO, and the current state will be displayed on the screen. 
    (It shows all or some of the information about Input, Channel, 
    Resolution,	 Audio	Type,	etc.,	depending	on	the	input	source)

    Selecting the Input Source
    To select the TV or other external input sources connected to the TV:
    1. Press INPUT on the remote control.
    2.	Press	▲	or	▼	to	select	the	desired	input	source.
    3.	 To	confirm	the	selection,	press  ENTER.
    Favorite Channel Setting
    To set your favorite channel into memory:
    1. Press MENU to display the OSD main menu.
    2.	Press	◄	or	►	to	select	 CHANNEL menu, then press ENTER to 
    enter the menu. 
    3.	Press	▲	or	▼to	select	 Favorite,	then	press	►	to	enter.	
    4.	Press	▲	or	▼	to	select	the	channel	you	want	to	add	into	your	 favorite channel.
    5.	Press	◄	or	►	to	highlight	Favorite , and press ENTER	to	confirm	 your selection.
    6. To cancel the selection, press  ENTER again on the selected .
    7. Press EXIT to exit the menu. j To view your favorite channels, press  FAV to display Favorite 
    List and select your favorite channels that have already been 
    stored.
    Customizing Channel Label
    To customize a name for the current channel:
    1. Press MENU to display the OSD main menu.
    2.	Press	◄	or	►	to	select	 CHANNEL menu, then press ENTER to 
    enter the menu. 
    3.	Press	▲	or	▼to	select	 Channel Label,	then	press	►	to	enter	
    Channel Label  submenu.
    4.	Press	◄	or	►	to	highlight	Label check box, and press ENTER to  start editing the label.
    5.	Press	ENTER	to	confirm.
    6. Press EXIT to exit the menu.

    Using the Parent Controls
    With	PARENT	CONTROL,	you	can	block	television	and	movie	programming	based	on	Movie	and	
    TV ratings. 
    Password	is	required	to	access	the	PARENTAL 	CONTROL	menu.	The	default	is	“0000”.
    To	manage	programs	using	the	US	Ratings	system:
    1. Press MENU to display the OSD main menu.
    2.	Press	◄	or	►	to	select	 Lock menu, then press ENTER to  
    enter the menu. 
    3. Enter the password. 
    4.	Press	▲	or	▼to	select	 System Lock,	then	press	◄	or	►	to		
    select On.
    5.	Press	▲	or	▼	to	select	 US Rating,	then	press	►	to	enter	the	  
    US	rating	submenu.
    Movie Rating
    1.	Press	▲	or	▼	to	select	 MPAA,	then	press	►	to	enter	its	
    submenu.
    2.	Press	◄	or	►	to	select	your	desired	MPAA 	ratings	level.
    The	MPAA 	ratings	level	are	defined	as	following:
    •	 G (general audience)
    •	 PG (parental guidance suggested)
    •	 PG-13 (recommended for children 14 years of ageor older)
    •	 R (mature audience)
    •	 NC-17	(no	one	under	17	years	of	age)
    •	 X (adult audience only)
    3. Press ENTER	to	lock	/	unlock	your	selection.
    4. Press EXIT to exit the menu.

    TV Rating
    1.	Press	▲	or	▼	to	select	
    TV Rating,	then	press	►	to	enter	its	
    submenu.
    2.	Press	▲	or	▼	to	select	your	desired	 TV	ratings	level	and	press	
    ◄	or	►	to	select	the	desired	content	check	box.
    The	 TV	ratings	level	and	content	are	defined	as	following:
    TV ratings level TV ratings content
    •	 TV-Y (all children)
    •	 TV-Y7 (older children)
    •	 TV-G (general audience)
    •	 TV-PG (guidance suggested)
    •	 TV-14 (strongly cautioned)
    •	 TV-MA 	(mature	audience) •	
    D (suggestive dialog)
    •	 L (adult language)
    •	 S (sexual situations)
    •	 V (violence)
    •	 FV (fantasy violence)
    3. Press ENTER	to	lock		/	unlock		your	selection.
    4. Press EXIT to exit the menu.
    To manage programs using the Canada Ratings system:
    1. Press MENU to display the OSD main menu.
    2.	Press	◄	or	►	to	select	 Lock menu, then press ENTER to enter 
    the menu. 
    3. Enter the password.
    4.	Press	▲	or	▼to	select	 System Lock,	then	press	◄	or	►	to		
    select On.
    5.	Press	▲	or	▼	to	select	 Canada Rating,	then	press	►	to	enter	
    the	Canada	English	/	Canada	French.

    Canada English 
    1.	Press	▲	or	▼	to	select	
    Canada English,	then	press	►	to	enter.
    2.	Press	◄	or	►	to	select	your	desired	Canadian	English	rating	 level.
    The	Canadian	English	rating	levels	are	defined	as	following:
    •	C (children)
    •	 C8+ (children eight years and older)
    •	 G (general programming, suit able for all audiences)
    •	 PG (parental guidance)
    •	 14+ (viewers and older)
    •	 18+ (adult programming)
    3. Press ENTER	to	lock	/	unlock	your	selection.
    4. Press EXIT to exit the menu.
    Canada French 
    1.	Press	▲	or	▼	to	select	 Canada French ,	then	press	►	to	enter.
    2.	Press	◄	or	►	to	select	your	desired	Canadian	French	rating	 level.
    The	Canadian	French	rating	levels	are	defined	as	following:
    •	G (general)
    •	 8 ans+ (children eight years and older)
    •	 13 ans+ (not appropriate for children of less than 13 years)
    •	 16 ans+ (not appropriate for children of less than 16 years)
    •	 18 ans+ (reserved to adults)
    3. Press ENTER	to	lock		/	unlock	your	selection.
    4. Press EXIT to exit the menu.

    Changing Password
    To change a new password:
    1. Press MENU to display the OSD main menu.
    2.	Press	◄	or	►	to	select	Lock	menu,	then	press	ENTER	to	enter	
    the menu. 
    3. Enter the password. 
    4.	Press	▲	or	▼to	select	 Change Password,	then	press	►	to	enter	
    its submenu.
    5.	Enter	the	old	password	on	 Old PIN.
    6. Enter your new password on  New PIN.
    7. Enter your new password again on  Confirm.
    The screen will return to the  Lock menu. This indicates the 
    password has been changed.
    8. Press EXIT to exit the menu.
    Blocking Selected Input Source
    To block the selected input source:
    1. Press MENU to display the OSD main menu.
    2.	Press	◄	or	►	to	select	 Lock menu, then press ENTER to enter 
    the menu. 
    3. Enter the password. (Default password is 0000) 
    4.	Press	▲	or	▼	to	select	 Input Block, then press ENTER to enter 
    its submenu.
    5.	Press	▲	or	▼	to	select	the	input	source	that	you	want	to	block.
    6. Press ENTER	to	confirm. Press	◄	or	►	to	select	(Unblock/Block).
    7. Press EXIT to exit the menu.

    Customizing PC Display
    Connect the PC and your TV using the VGA cable. See “Personal
    Computer” on page 10.
    1. Press INPUT  to display the Source Select menu.
    2. Press ▲ or ▼ to select PC, then press ENTER to confirm the 
    setting.
    3. Press MENU to display the OSD main menu.
    4. Press ◄ or ► to select  Setup menu, then press ENTER to enter 
    the menu. 
    5. Press ▲ or ▼ to select  PC Settings, then press ENTER to enter 
    its submenu.
    6. Press ▲ or ▼ to select  H-Pos, V-Pos, Clock,Phase or Auto, 
    and press ◄ or ► to adjust the setting.
    7. Press EXIT to exit the menu.
    Using USB Function
    Your TV is equipped with a USB connector that enables you to view photos or l\
    isten to music stored 
    on a USB storage device.
    j USB only supports JPEG and MP3 files.

    1. Plug a USB device to the USB connector on the rear side of the TV.
    2. Press INPUT  to display the Source Select menu.
    3. Press ▲ or ▼ to select  Media, then press ENTER to confirm the setting. The USB menu appears 
    on the screen.
