    The built-in Lightmeter
makes it easier for you to get the correct aperturefor whatever shutter-speed is used.
Instructions: Move scale, by pushing the milledsquare (e), to either left or right until the film-speed (for instance 1B DIN or 50 ASA) appears ineither window (d) or (f). Now focus on the subjectand turn the setting ring (b) until the two pointersin the lightmeter window (a) precisely cover eachother. Now you can read off any combination ofshutter-speed-aperture (c) and transmit both to thesetting rings on the lens barrel.
    Shutter-speed setting
Turn shutter-speed ring to the selected speed. Thecorrect speed 1/soo, 1/tzs, 1/ao, 1/to will then be pro-perly set off in the shutter mechanism when theshutter is released.
On 8 setting the shutter will stay open as longas the release is kept depressed. For this purposethe camera has to be put on a tripod and a cablerelease has to be used (12).
    Setting the aperture
Turn aperture ring (4) by using the two blackhandles and set the selected lens opening oppositethe index marking.
    Setting the distance
In the centre of the crystal-frame finder you cansee the bright circular field of the coupled range-finder. As long as the subject is not correctlyfocused, the latter appears with double image inthe rangefinder field.
Turn focusing (1) until the double outlines fuseinto one image. Now the camera is set for thecorrect distance.
Of course, you can also use the footage scaleor the red snapshot markings for focusing:O (4112 feet) = Portraits, V (11 feet) = GrouP,O (33 feet or more) : landscapes.
    The crystal-frame inside the viewfinder
outlines clearly in life-size the picture you will get.On short subject distance the two small lineswithin the finder witl indicate the limitations ofthe picture area - between 3 and 7 feet eitherhorizontally or vertically.
    The Rapid-wind
Always turn one full swing, thus cocking theshutter, transporting the film, and advancing theframe-counter. There is also an automatic double-ex.posure prevention in connection with the shutterrelease.

    							The Shutter release
Press quickly and smoothly - do not jerk, thismay otherwise result in blurred pictures.
    Aperture and Depth of Field
The depth of field is that zone of the picture whichis sufficiently and sharply rendered in front, aswell as behind the focused distance. lt is takenfrom the distance in feet opposite the selectedaperture on the depth of field scale (2) to thedistance setting opposite the same aperture valueon the other side of the A mark.
Please remember: When using a large aperture(2.8 or 4) you will get a short depth of field. Whenusing a smaller aperture (11 or 16) you will geta large depth of field.
    Flash shots
The camera is X-synchronized. The flash unit isconnected with the camera thru the flash contact(19). When using flash bulbs (Type XM-1/PF-1 orAG-1) the shutter-speed must be 1/so (not above). When using electronic flash units, all shutter-speeds up to 1/roo can be used.
The Guide number of the respective flash bulbsor unit has to be used in order to figure out thecorrect aperture. This guide number can usually befound in the instructions coming with the equipment.
    Practical Accessories
o For black and white or color film there is a rangeof Voigtlrinder f ilters in various colors and densitiel.
o For close-up shots there is the VoigtliinderPROXIMETER.

o Press spring catch (5), open camera back andpull knob all the way out (6). See No. I

Nowoperate rapid wind (10) and release (7) alter-natively until the counter is set to either 36 or 20.Now the counter will automatically show thenumber of frames left each time the film isadvanced.
    Film advance control
Once the film has been properly loaded, therewind knob should turn anti-clockwise with everyadvance stroke. The turning of the rewind knobwill start after about 3 to 6 frames depending onthe film tension in the cartridge.

Now wind thefilm thru the camera until the counter shows oncemore that f rame number last exposed. Let goshutter release and advance one frame.
