2.1 Important Information for set up
\bfter having unpacked your loudspeaker, please allow the syste\f to accli\fate to
the te\fperature of the roo\f for approxi\fately an hour.
We reco\f\fend using high q\nuality cables to guarantee opti\fal perfor\fance.
It is i\fportant to ensure the speakers sit fir\fly on a solid surface!
We reco\f\fend that you retain the original packaging, as it is the best way to
guarantee safe transportation should the need to do so arise.
Please note that the loudspeakers will take so\fe break-in ti\fe to achieve
    opti\fu\f sonic perfor\fance.
    2.2 Connecting the spea\ckers
    a) Before connecting the loudspeakers to your audio co\fponents and the power
source \fake sure that both the loudspeakers and your audio source are switched
off and set the level controls fully counterclockwise.
\f) Connect the loudspeakers with your audio source by using XLR cables. The \fa\nle
plug goes into the loudspeaker, the fe\fale plug into your audio co\fponent.
    c) Check if the specified voltage \fatches the voltage of the power supply you use.
If this is not the case do not conne\nct the loudspeakers to a power source! Please
contact your local dealer o\nr national distributor.
If the voltages \fatch, use the included power cables to connect the loudspeaker
    to the \bC sockets.
    d) Switch on the \fain on/off switches on the back panel of the loudspeakers.
    e) Make sure that the line out level (volu\fe) of your stereo is either at a low level or
all the way off. Then, switch on your audio syste\f.
    f) Turn on your source of \fusic and adju\nst the volu\fe carefully.

    General recommendations
Please \fake sure that there are no obstacles in the way fro\f the \fonitor to your
ears. You should be able \nto see the speakers co\fpletely.
The distance to the surrounding walls should be at \nleast 40 c\f (16“) to avoid
early reflections, which will degrade the sound.
The loudspeakers should be aligned\n with the listener’s position.
Please note that vibrating parts of nearby objects can \fask \nthe sound.
Mechanical adjustments: If you plan to \fodify the speaker cabinet (e.g. dr\nilling
holes), please cont\nact us before doing so. Usually, we will handle your warranty
    obliging.

3.2 Tweeter at the height o\cf ears
The Tweeter should be posit\nioned approxi\fately at the height of your ears. If the
speaker does not point r\night in your direction, you \fight lose sound \n
    infor\fation.
In case you need to position the speaker in a significant l\nower or higher positi\non,
the \fonitor should be angled accordingly.
    3. Speaker Placement

    							8
    3.3 The Stereo Triangle
If the loudspeaker is going to be used for stereo ap-
plications, the opti\fu\f listening position shoul\nd be
at the top of an i\faginary equilateral triangle with the
two loudspeakers placed at the other two points of this
triangle. The loudspeakers should be aligned\n with the
    listener’s position.
    3.4 Surround Placement
Speaker positioning for \fulti-channel stereo purposes is ide\nally based on a circle
with speakers placed at 0° (Ce\nnter), 30° (Front Right), 110° (Rear Right), 250°
(Rear Left), 330° (Front Left), with the listener being the circle’s center (Radius
    between 0.7-2.0 \f). This\n ITU reco\f\fended configuration \fay vary depending
on the purpose of the control roo\f (\fusic or fil\f). \nHowever, it is reco\f\fended
to create a sy\f\fetrical lis\ntening position with the front side and surround
speaker pointing to the listener’s ear. The distance to the surrounding walls
should be at least 40 c\f (16“) to avoid early reflections, which can degrade the
    sound.

     The front control panel
On the front you will find a highl\ny sophisticated control panel
that allows for detailed fine-tuning of your loudspeakers to your
particular roo\f acoustics and personal listening preferences.
The following tips are intended to assist you at using the
    controls in the best \fanner.
    For S\fX users:
\b tri\f\fed control panel is located on the rear side of the S1X \fodel. In addition to that, you will find
an LED on the botto\f of the tweeter at the front. It indicates Power On and, in case of an overload, the
function of the protective circuit. When the speaker is switched on, the LED will flash red a few ti\fes.
This does not indic\nate an overload!
Please note that using the controls \fay have a great i\fpact on the overall sound
characteristics of your loudspeakers. We reco\f\fend using the controls with
ut\fost care and only after several audio tests with fa\filiar recordings.
    4.2 Stand\fy Switch and LEDs
The \fain power switch can be found on the rear of the
loudspeaker. On the front, there is a switch for Power On/
Standby. In Standby \fode, the switch glows orange, in power
    on \fode it glows green.
To the right of the standby switch you can find
    two LEDs:
    • In case of an overload, the OL LED will flash red.
The protective circuit will save your speaker
    fro\f da\fage.
    • \bll SX-\fonitors (except S1X) can be retrofitted with a 24 bit/192 kHz D/\b
Converter. The D/A LED glows blue when a converter is inserted in the input on
the rear side of the speaker .

    4.3 Input Controls
There are two different controls to regulate the overall input
    sensitivity:
    • One control allows for coarse settings fro\f -20dB to +8dB. The
    control works in 4dB steps.
    • The other control is intended for fine tuning in 0.5dB steps,
    ranging fro\f -1.5dB to 2dB.
    4.4 Bass Controls
There are two different controls to regulate the lower
    frequencies:
    • The E\f 80 H\b control is an equalizer to boost bass response.
    • The 6 kH\b control is a shelf filter that allows to progressively
raise or lower the frequencies above 6 kHz (see Fig.).
    4. Speaker Adjustment
Room EQ 6 k\bz for high
    frequencies above 6 k\bz
