    Iftheprogramtimeislongerthantheprevious
    washusingthesameprogram,“1”willbe
    displayeduntiltheprogramfinishes.Thisis
    normal!Thenexttimeyouusetheprogram
    undersimilarconditions,theestimatedpro-
    gramtimewillbemoreaccurate.
    Toaddorremovelaundryafterthe
    programstarts
    Ifyouwanttoaddorremoveitemsafterthe
    programhasstarted,youcanstopthepro-
    grambypressingandholdingtheDoor
    Openingbutton(keysymbol)forthreesec-
    onds."Door"appearsonthedisplay.When
    yourestartthemachine,addanyextradeter-
    gentneededandclosethedoor.Themachine
    continuesautomaticallyfromthepointwhere
    theprogramwasinterrupted.
    Stoppingorchangingaprogram
    Youcanalsostopaprogrambypressingthe
    Start/Stopbuttonforthreeseconds."Stop"
    appearsonthedisplay.Torestartthema-
    chine,selectanewprogram,addanyextra
    detergentneeded,andpresstheStart/Stop
    button.

    Oncetheprogramhasfinished
    Onceaprogramhasfinished,"End"
    appearsonthedisplay.
    Thedooropensautomaticallyoncethepro-
    gramhasfinished.Ifyouwanttodeactivate
    AutomaticDoorOpening,seethe"Selecting
    settings"section.
    •Removethelaundry.
    •Turnoffthemainpowerswitchand
    youwillsaveenergy.
    Ifyouhavesmallchildrenorpetsathome,
    closethewasherdooronceyouhavere-
    movedthelaundry.

    							Youcanselectoptionstoadjustthewashingprogramtosuityourownspecificrequirements.
    Themachinerememberswhichoptionsyouchoseforaprogram(withtheexceptionofDelayed
    Start)thenexttimeyouselectthesameprogram.Ofcourse,youcanchangethisifyouwant.
    Temperature
    1.Selectthetemperaturebypressingthe-/+buttonsuntilthedesiredtemperatureisdisplayed.
    2.YoucanselecttemperaturesbetweenColdand203°F(95°C).IfyouselectCold,thewashing
    temperaturewillbethesameasthatofthewaterenteringthemachine.ForWool/handwash
    youcannotchooseatemperaturehigherthan104°F(40°C)andthemaximumtemperature
    fortheTimeChoiceprogramis140°F(60°C).
    3.PresstheStart/Stopbuttontostarttheprogramorselectmoreoptions.
    Spin
    1.Selectthespinspeedbypressingthe-/+buttonsuntilthedesiredspinspeedisdisplayed.
    2.Youcanselectspeedsbetween400and1600rpm,Nospin,orNodrain.Aspinwithaspeed
    of400-800rpmisalwaysashortspin.FortheWool/handwashandPermaPressprograms
    youcannotchooseaspinspeedhigherthan800rpm.
    3.TimeChoicehasamaximumspeedof1600rpm.
    4.Nospinmeansthattheprogramdoesnotincludeaspincycleandendsbydraining.No
    drainingmeansthattheprogramdoesnotincludeaspincycleandendswiththewaterfrom
    thefinalrinsestillinthemachine.Thewashingwillremaincoveredbythewaterfromthefinal
    rinseandthereforewillnotbecomewrinkled.
    5.Inordertoremovethelaundryfromthemachine,selecteitheraSpinorDrainprogramor
    presstheDoorOpeningbutton(keysymbol)todrainthewaterfromthemachine.
    6.PresstheStart/Stopbuttontostarttheprogramorselectmoreoptions.
    DelayedStart
    SelectDelayedStartbypressingthe+buttonontheTimebutton.ThedisplayshowsDelayed
    Startfor3seconds.Youcandelaythestartbybetween1and24hours.Thenumberofhours
    selectedisshowninwholehours.Pressthe-buttontoreducethenumberofhoursofdelay.
    ThesymbolforDelayedStartlightsbesidethenumberofhours.PresstheStartbutton.The
    machinecountsdown1houratatimeandstartsaftertheselecteddelay.Thisoptioncannotbe
    usedwiththeTimeChoiceprogram.
    SuperRinse
    UsetheSuperRinseoptionifyouwanttoincreasethenumberofrinses.Themaximumnumber
    ofrinsesissevenandvariesdependingontheselectedprogram.Thisoptioncannotbeselected
    withtheAuto,TimeChoice,Rinse,Spin,orDrainprograms.
    •SelectSuperRinsebypressingthebuttonunderthesymbol.
    •Thesymbolabovethebuttonlightswhenthisoptionisactivated.

    HighWaterLevelmeansadditionalwaterisusedduringthemainwashandrinsecycles.Can
    beusedwithallprogramsexceptAuto,TimeChoice,Wool/handwash,andRinse.
    •SelectHighWaterLevelbypressingthebuttonunderthesymbol.
    •Thesymbolabovethebuttonlightswhenthisoptionisactivated.
    Note!
    ThemachinetakesintheadditionalwaterforHighWaterLevelabout15minutesafterthemain
    washhasstarted.
    AntiWrinklefunction
    AntiWrinklemeansthatthedrumwillrotateforthreesecondsperminutefortwohoursoncethe
    washprogramhasfinished.Thisfunctionpreventstheclothesfromlyinginthesameposition
    andgettingwrinkled.Thisisausefulfeatureifyoucannottakethelaundryoutstraightaway.
    CanbeusedwithallprogramsexceptAuto,TimeChoice,Wool/handwash,Nospin,andRinse.
    •SelectAntiWrinklebypressingthebuttonunderthesymbol.
    •Thesymbolabovethebuttonlightswhenthisoptionisactivated.
    SuperWash
    SuperWashincreasesthetimeduringwhichwaterispumpedintothemachine.Theamountof
    watermustsuittheloadifstainsanddirtaretobewashedout,whilethemainwashtimeisalso
    increased.CanbeusedwithallprogramsexceptTimeChoice,Quick,Wool/handwash,and
    Rinse.
    •SelectSuperWashbypressingthebuttonunderthesymbol.
    •Thesymbolabovethebuttonlightswhenthisoptionisactivated.
    Pre-soak
    Ifthelaundryisstained,suchaswithblood,werecommendapresoak.Thelaundrywillbe
    soakedincoldwaterfortwohoursbeforethewashprogramstarts.Canbeusedwithallprograms
    exceptAuto,TimeChoice,andRinse.
    •SelectPresoakbypressingthebuttonunderthesymbol.
    •Thesymbolabovethebuttonlightswhenthisoptionisactivated.

    Ifforanyreasonyoudonotwantthedoortoopenautomatically,youcanprogramthemachine
    sothatthedooronlyopenswhenyoupresstheDoorOpeningbutton.Doasfollows:

    							Checkingthefilteranddrainpump
    Thewashingmachinehasafilter,where
    coins,hairpins,andthelikecangetcaught.
    Tocleanthefilteranddrainpump:
    1.Makesurethemachineisemptyofwater
    andthatitisswitchedoffatthemainpower
    switch.
    2.Openthehatchforthedrainpumpas
    shownintheillustration.
    3.Drainoutthewater,intoabowl,forexam-
    ple,byunhookingthedrainagehosefrom
    thepininsidethehatch.
    4.Openthepumpbyunscrewingthecover
    counterclockwise.Removethecoverwith
    thefilter.
    5.Removeanyobjectsordebrisfromthe
    pumphousing.Checktoseethatthepump
    impellersatthebackwillrotate.
    6.Screwonthecover,replacethedrainage
    hoseonthehatchpin,andclosethehatch.
    Cleaningthedetergent
    compartment
    Openthedetergentcompartmentandliftout
    theinsert.Rinseitandscrubitcleanwitha
    dishbrush.Replacethecompartment.
    Note!
    Donotrunthedetergentcompartment
    throughadishwasher!
    Cleaningtheoutsideofthemachine
    Cleantheoutsideofthemachineandthe
    programpanelwithamildcleaner.Donotuse
    anysolvents,asthesecandamagethema-
    chine.
    Note!
    Donothosedownorspraythemachinewith
    water.
    Cleaningtheinsideofthemachine
    toavoidunpleasantsmells
    Moderndetergentsoftenallowlaundrytobe
    washedatlowtemperatures.Thismeansthat
    smalldepositscanbuildupinthemachine.
    These,inturn,mayleadtounpleasantodors

    (95°C)washprogramonceamonth.When
    youdothis,useasmallquantityofdetergent.

    							Rinseholesunderthepaddle
    Ifyouthinkthatanobject,suchasanailora
    paperclip,mayhavefallenthroughthewash
    drum,youshouldcheckthecontainerunder
    thepaddle.Objectsofthiskindcanrustand
    causespotsonclothing.Nailsandothersharp
    objectscanmakeholesinfabric.
    Doasfollows:
    1.Useascrewdriverorsimilartool.
    2.Insertthescrewdriverintothecenterhole
    onthepaddleandturnthescrewdriver
    handlegentlytotheleft.
    3.Withyourotherhand,holdthepaddleand
    pullittowardyouasshownintheillustra-
    tion.
    4.Liftthepaddle.
    5.Removeanyobjects.
    6.Placethepaddleinthemountingholewith
    theF-marktowardyou.Ensurethatallthe
    paddlefastenersareintheirholesinthe
    drum.Pushitawayfromyouuntilitcatch-
    es.
    Ifyouhavehardwater
    Ifyouliveinanareawithhardwater
    (limescale),thewasherdrummaydevelopa
    grayish-whitecoating.Toremovethis,empty
    asachetofcitricacid,approx.20gram
    (1ounce),intothewasherdrumandrunthe
    Stain-Colorprogramat203°F(95°C).Re-
    peatifnecessary.

    							Thewasherdoorwillnotopen
    1.Checkthatthemainpowerswitchison.
    2.Hasthepowersupplybeencutoff?Check
    thehousefuses(circuitbreakers).The
    washerdoorcannotbeopenedusingthe
    buttonwiththekeysymbolifthepower
    supplyhasbeencutoff.
    Ifnothingelseworks,thewasherdoor
    canbeopenedasfollows:
    •Thismustonlybedoneinanemergency
    ifthemachine'sglassdoordoesnot
    openautomaticallywhentheprogram
    hasfinished.
    •Firstcheckthatthereisnowaterleftin
    themachine.Ifthereiswaterleftinthe
    machineanditisnotpossibletorunthe
    Drainprogram,emptythemachine.This
    isdescribedundertheheading
    "Checkingthefilteranddrainagepump"
    inthe"Careandcleaning"chapter.
    •Makesurethatthemainpowerswitch
    isoffandthattheplughasbeenre-
    movedfromthewallsocket.
    •Youwillfindtheemergencyopenerfor
    theglassdoorinthedoublesealedbag.
    •Opentheglassdoorbyputtingthe
    openerintheslottotherightofthelock
    onthedoor.Pushtheopenerupor
