    Removin\b the Back Co\rver
    1.   
    Hold the Power/End Key to turn off 
    the phone.
    2.    Lift the bottom of th\&e back cover from 
    the notch and remove\& the back cover as \&
    shown below.

    Notes:
    •     The phone automatica\&lly turns off if th\&e 
    battery power is too\& low.
    •     If you are not \boin\&\b to use the battery \&for 
    a lon\b time, remove \&it from the phone an\&d 
    store it in a cool \&dry place. 
    1.    Hold the Power/End Key to turn off 
    the phone. 2.  
    Remove the back cov\&er.
    3.    Carefully insert th\&e battery, makin\b sure 
    the contacts are loc\&ated a\bainst the \bold\& 
    sprin\bs of the phon\&e.
    4.    Push down the batter\&y until it clicks  
    into place.
     
     
    5.    Replace the back co\&ver on the back of \&  
    the phone.
    Caution: Make sure the cove\pr is lined up 
    \fefore pressing it i\pnto place. \bo not fo\prce it. 
    \boing so will damage\p the \fack cover.
    Removin\b the Battery\r
    1.    Hold the Power/End Key to power off 
    the phone.
    2.   Remove the back cov\&er.
    3.    Lift the end of the \&battery near the 
    bottom of the phone \&and remove the 
    battery from the pho\&ne.

    SIM and Memory Cards\r
    Insertin\b the SIM (Su\rbscriber 
    Identity Module) Ca\rrd
    You can obtain a SIM\& card from your ser\&vice 
    provider when you \&si\bn on as a subscr\&iber.
    Caution:
    •    \bo not \fend or scra\ptch your SIM card. \p
    Keep the card away \pfrom electricity a\pnd 
    magnetism.
    •     \bo not touch the metal surface of the SIM 
    card. \boing so could\p cause information\p on 
    the card to \fe lost\p or destroyed.
    •     \bisconnect the char\pger and other 
    accessories from y\pour phone and remov\pe 
    the \fattery \fefore \pinserting and remov\ping 
    your SIM card.
    1.    Hold the Power/End Key to power off 
    the phone.
    2.    Remove the back cov\&er and battery.
    3.    Hold the SIM card w\&ith the metal 
    contacts facin\b down\&ward and the cut 
    corner at the bottom \&ri\bht. Insert the  
    card into the card \&holder and slide i\&t   
    into position.
    4.    Replace the back co\&ver on the back of \&
    your phone.
    Removin\b the SIM Car\rd
    1.   Hold the Power/End Key to power off 
    the phone.
    2.   Remove the back cov\&er and battery.
    3.    Gently remove the SI\&M card from the  
    card holder.
    Insertin\b a Memory Ca\rrd
    The memory card \bive\&s your phone a ver\&y 
    lar\be memory capacit\&y. This allows you \&to 
    save multimedia data\&, includin\b ima\bes, \&
    photos, MP3 audio fi\&les, and rin\btones.\& 
    You can also use thi\&s memory card to sto\&re 
    other files.
    Tip: Your phone can supp\&ort a memory card 
    with up to an 8GB c\&apacity.  1.   
    Hold the Power/End Key to power off 
    the phone.
    2.   Remove the back cov\&er and battery.
    3.    Carefully insert th\&e memory card into 
    the memory card slot\& and push it until \&it 
    clicks into positio\&n as shown below.
    4.    Reinsert the battery\&, replace the back \&
    cover, and turn the phon\&e on.Caution: Only use approved m\pemory cards 
    for this device. Any\p use of unapproved \p
    memory cards might \pcause loss of data\p or 
    damage to your phon\pe. 
    Removin\b a Memory Ca\rrd
    1.   Hold the Power/End Key to power off 
    the phone.
    2.   Remove the back cov\&er and battery.
    3.   Push the card inwar\&d so that it pops ou\&t.
    4.   Carefully remove th\&e memory card. 5.   
    Reinsert the battery\&, replace the back \&
    cover, and turn the phon\&e on.
    Tips:
    •     Do not remove the me\&mory card while 
    readin\b or writin\b t\&o the card. Doin\b s\&o 
    mi\bht corrupt the inf\&ormation on the card\& 
    or phone. If possi\&ble, insert and rem\&ove 
    the memory card whil\&e the phone is 
    turned off.
    •     If you want to forma\&t the memory card  
    on your PC, make su\&re you select the 
    FAT2 Formattin\b type. I\&f this is not done,\& 
    the memory card mi\bht\& not be identified 
    by your phone.
    Char\bin\b Your Phone
    Your phone uses a r\&echar\beable battery. 
    When you first unpac\&k the phone, the  
    battery is not fully\& char\bed, but there \&mi\bht 
    be enou\bh power to \&turn on the phone. \&You 
    can use the provide\&d char\ber to char\be \&  
    the battery.
    1.   Open the USB port c\&over.
    2.    Insert the char\ber\fs USB adapter into \&the 
    USB port.
    3.    Plu\b the char\ber int\&o a standard AC

    4.    When the battery is \&fully char\bed,  
    unplu\b the char\ber a\&nd disconnect it   
    from the phone.
    Notes:
    •     Make sure the char\b\&er\fs connector is 
    inserted correctly. Do not force the \&
    connector into the p\&ort.
    •     The battery will re\&main fully char\bed \&for   
    3 to 4 hours.
    •     Only use the char\be\&r provided by the 
    ori\binal provider. Usin\b an unapprov\&ed 
    char\ber mi\bht be dan\&\berous and violate \&
    the authorization an\&d warranty rules of\& 
    the phone.
    •     If the phone is use\&d too often when   
    the battery is low o\&r not used for a lo\&n\b 
    time, the screen may\& not display the 
    char\be indicator un\&til the battery has \&
    been continuously c\&har\bed for 10 to  
    40 minutes. •    
    To \bet the maximum per\&formance out of 
    your battery, it is recommended \&that you 
    completely char\be th\&e battery before 
    usin\b the phone for\& the first time. A 
    new battery\fs full performance \&is only 
    reached after three\& complete char\be and\& 
    dischar\be cycles ha\&ve been finished.
    •     Char\bin\b is only po\&ssible within a 
    temperature ran\be of\& 32°F to 113°F.Powerin\b Phone On/Off\r
    Note:
    •   Do not turn your ph\&one on in areas 
    in which wireless \&phone use is not 
    permitted, or when i\&t could cause 
    interference or dan\&\ber.
    Hold the Power/End Key to turn the phone 
    on or off.
    Tips:
    •    When prompted, enter\& your PIN  
    (Personal Identifica\&tion Number) code   
    or handset code and\& press the OK Key.
    •    The PIN code is the\& password provided\&   
    by your network ser\&vice provider. You 
    cannot use the SIM \&card without it.
    •    When the PIN code o\&r handset code 
    is accepted, the ph\&one automatically 
    searches for the ne\&twork. After a few \&
    seconds, your phon\&e displays idle mod\&e.

    In lists, messa\bes, \&and menus: Used to \&scroll up, down, l\&eft, and ri\bht.
    Left Soft Key/
    Ri\bht Soft Key The bottom line of t\&he display shows th\&e options that can b\&e selected 
    usin\b the Left and Ri\bht Soft Keys. The options chan\b\&e dependin\b on 
    the application/fun\&ction bein\b used.
    Send Key Press to dial or an\&swer calls.
    From idle mode: Press to sho\&w a list of all cal\&ls.
    Multitask

    Use the keypad lock\& to prevent the keys\& from 
    bein\b pressed accid\&entally.
    1.   
    To lock the keypad a\&utomatically, from 
    idle mode, press th\&e Ri\bht Soft Key for 
    Menu, then select Settin\bs > Phone 
    > Auto key\buard. Select 5s, \f0s, \f5s, 
    30s, or 60s auto keylock to se\&t the 
    keypad. These indi\&cate the delay befo\&re 
    the keypad is locke\&d.
    2.    To lock the keypad m\&anually, from idle 
    mode, hold the * Key.
    3.    To unlock the keypad\&, press the  
    Left Soft Key for Unlock and then 
    press the * Key. Tips:
    •   
    When the keys are l\&ocked, the word 
    Unlock is shown on\& the display.
    •    If a call comes in \&when the keypad is \&
    locked, you can pr\&ess the Send Key 
    to answer it. When \&the call is ended o\&r 
    rejected, the keypa\&d locks automaticall\&y.
    •    When the keypad loc\&k is on, calls are\& still 
    possible to the 911\& emer\bency number.

    Chan\bin\b Input Mode
    You can enter text in\&to your phone usin\b\& the 
    followin\b input meth\&ods: ZiAbc, abc, A\&bc, 
    ABC, and number inp\&ut. You can also switch \&
    the lan\bua\be between\& En\blish and Spanish\&.
    Current Text Mode
    When you are in a \&field that allows 
    characters to be entered, the text input mode 
    indicator is shown \&in the upper ri\bht c\&orner 
    of the display.

    Press the # Key and select an inpu\&t method 
    or lan\bua\be.
    Usin\b Predictive Text (ZiAbc)
    The predictive text \&method is based on \&a 
    built-in dictionary\& and \benerates word\&s from 
    the combination of l\&etters pressed.
    1.   Press each key onc\&e that corresponds \&to 
    the letter you want \&to enter. The letters 
    are shown on the di\&splay as they are 
    entered. The list o\&f candidate words 
    chan\bes as each key\& is pressed. 2.   
    When the candidate \&words are displaye\&d, 
    use the Navi\bation Key to hi\bhli\bht 
    a candidate word an\&d then press the  
    OK Key for Select.
    3.    Press the 0 Key to insert a space,\& or 
    press the * Key to select symbols.
    4.    Press the Clear & Back Key to delete 
    the letter to the lef\&t of the cursor. Hold 
    the Clear & Back Key to delete all 
    entered text to the l\&eft of the cursor.
    Enterin\b Letters (Abc\r/ABC/abc)
    1.   Press a number key \&(2 throu\bh 9) multiple 
    times until the desi\&red letter is shown\& on 
    the display. Press once to ent\&er the first 
    letter on the keypad\&, press twice quick\&ly 
    to enter the second \&letter, and so on.
      • Press the 0 Key to add a space.
      •   Press the 0 Key twice quickly or ho\&ld 
    the 0 Key to enter 0.
    Notes:
    •    When usin\b “Abc” mo\&de, only the first 
    letter is a capital \&letter.
    •    After enterin\b the fi\&rst capital letter, the 
    input mode will be \&chan\bed to “abc” 
    mode automatically.

    Press the # Key and select 123. The\& input 
    method icon () is then shown on \&the 
    display. You can enter number\&s directly usin\b 
    the number keys.
    Tip: When usin\b number \&input, you need 
    to switch to other te\&xt input methods if \&
    you want to insert a\& space by pressin\b \&the 
    0 Key.
    Enterin\b Symbols
    1.  Press the * Key.
    2.    Use the Navi\bation Key to select 
    a symbol.
    3.  Press the OK Key.

    1.   From idle mode, ente\&r a phone number.
    2.    Press the Send Key to call the number.

    1.   From idle mode, sel\&ect Menu > 
    AddressBook.
    2.    Hi\bhli\bht a contact a\&nd press the  
    Send Key to call the number.
    Usin\b Call Options
    Durin\b a call, you \&can press the  
    Left Soft Key for more options. \&The 
    options vary depend\&in\b on the function \&  
    you are currently u\&sin\b.
    •    Hold/Unhold: Put the current call\& on 
    hold or retrieve th\&e call. 
    •    End call: End the current cal\&l.
    •   
    Record: Record the current\& call. Press 
    the OK Key to stop recordin\b.
    •    DTMF off/on: Enable or disable \&the 
    sendin\b of the DTMF\& tones.
    •    Messa\be: Switch to the Messa\&\bin\b 
    menu durin\b a call.\&
    •    Contacts: Switch to the Addre\&ssBook 
    menu durin\b a call.\&
    •    Browser: Browse the Interne\&t durin\b 
    a call.
    Receivin\b Calls
    When a voice call \&comes in, press the\&  Send 
    Key to answer the call\&. Press the OK Key 
    to answer the call with the speakerphone on.
    Tip: If you have conne\&cted a headset to 
    the phone, you can \&press the button on \&the 
    headset to answer th\&e call.
    Adjustin\b the Volume
    Durin\b a call, pres\&s the Volume Keys to 
    adjust the earpiece\& or speaker volume.\&

    Types of Messa\bes
    Your phone provides\& the followin\b messa\&\be 
    types:
    •  Text Messa\bes (SMS)
    •   Multimedia (Picture)\& Messa\bes (MMS)
    •   Instant Messa\bes (IM\&s)
    The Short Messa\be S\&ervice (SMS) lets y\&ou 
    send and receive te\&xt messa\bes to and f\&rom 
    other mobile phones\& and email addresse\&s. To 
    use this feature, y\&ou may need to subs\&cribe 
    to your service pro\&vider\fs messa\be service.
    The Multimedia Mess\&a\bin\b Service (MMS)\& 
    lets you send and r\&eceive multimedia 
    messa\bes (such as p\&icture messa\bes) to \&
    and from other mobil\&e phones and email \&

    SMS and MMS 
    Sendin\b a New SMS Me\rssa\be
    1.    From idle mode, sel\&ect Menu > 
    Messa\bin\b > Create messa\be.
    2.    Enter the recipient\fs phone number(s). \& 
    You can also press \&the OK Key for 
    Contacts to add recipient(s\&). 
    3.    Press down on the Navi\bation Key to 
    access the Text field. 4.   
    Enter a messa\be.
    5.    Press the OK Key for Send to send 
    the messa\be.
    Sendin\b a New MMS Me\rssa\be
    1.   From idle mode, sel\&ect Menu > 
    Messa\bin\b > Create messa\be.
    2.    Enter the recipient\fs phone number(s). \& 
    You can also press \&the OK Key for 
    Contacts to add recipient(s\&). 
    3.    Press down on the Navi\bation Key to 
    access the Text field.
    4.  Enter a messa\be. 
    5.    Press the Left Soft Key for Options 
    and select Insert to insert an ima\be,\& 
    audio file or video\& file. The messa\be w\&ill 
    convert to MMS autom\&atically.
    6.    Press the OK Key for Send to send 
    your messa\be.
    Notes:
    •    To save an unfinishe\&d messa\be, press 
    the Left Soft Key for Options and select 
    Save to save it to the D\&rafts folder.
    •    Messa\bes in Outbox \&and in Drafts can b\&e 
    edited and sent.
    Viewin\b a Messa\be
    The  or  envelope icon wil\&l appear on 
    the information bar \&to indicate that you\& have 
    received a new mess\&a\be. Press the OK Key twice to view the 
    messa\be. 
    Or from idle mode, \&select Menu > 
    Messa\bin\b > Inbox to check your 
    messa\bes.
    Voicemail
    Voicemail Settin\bs
    From idle mode, sel\&ect Menu > Messa\bin\b 
    > Settin\bs > Voicemail number to check 
    the voicemail number\&.
    Your voicemail phone\& number is preset b\&y 
    your service provi\&der. You do not need to s\&et 
    it manually.
    Receivin\b a Voicemail
    When the system send\&s you a messa\be 
    notifyin\b you that th\&ere is a new voice\&mail, 
    from idle mode, hol\&d the \f Key to access the 
    voicemail service.
    Note: Contact your servi\&ce provider for mor\&e 
    information on usin\&\b the voicemail serv\&ice.
    Messa\be Folders
    •   
    The Inbox folder contains al\&l of your 
    received messa\bes. \&In this folder you \&can 
    view your received\& messa\bes and reply\& 
    to them or forward m\&essa\bes to another 
    recipient. •   
    The Outbox folder contains al\&l messa\bes 
    that were not sent d\&urin\b the last 
    attempt. In this fold\&er you can edit or \&
    resend your messa\be\&s.
    •    The Sent folder contains me\&ssa\bes that 
    were sent successfu\&lly. From this folder \&
    you can edit or for\&ward messa\bes to 
    another recipient.
    •    The Drafts folder contains dr\&afts and 
    unfinished messa\bes.\& In this folder you\& 
    can complete or res\&end your messa\bes.
    •    The Saved messa\bes folder contains 
    messa\bes that you mov\&ed from the Inbox.
    Notes:
    •    You cannot receive n\&ew messa\bes if  
    the messa\be memory is\& full.
    •    The total amount of \&space available  
    for savin\b messa\bes \&is determined by  
    the space available\& on the phone and   
    SIM card.
    Usin\b Messa\be Options\r
    While viewin\b the c\&ontents of the Inbox\&, 
    press the Left Soft Key to access the 
    followin\b options, \&which apply to the \&
    hi\bhli\bhted text mess\&a\be:
    •    Reply: Reply to the messa\b\&e.
    •    Call Sender: Call back the ori\b\&inator of 
    the messa\be.
