    Lomo
    Creates a Lomo-like effect by adding over saturated colors, dark corners, and so 
    on.
    1. Press  >  > 
    Scene Mode.
    2. Press   or   to enter the submenu.
    3. Press   or   to select 
    Lomo.
    4. Press   to confirm setting.
    5. Take a picture. (The Lomo effect will be applied to this picture immediately.)
    Pre-composition
    Captures the background first for positioning the final image. Ideal for asking 
    others to take your photo.
    1. Press  >  > 
    Scene Mode.
    2. Press   or   to enter the submenu.
    3. Press   or   to select 
    Pre-composition.
    4. Press   to confirm setting.
    5. Press the shutter to capture the background. The bottom section of the 
    screen displays the captured background image in a semi-transparent region.
    6. Use the captured background image to frame the composition, and press the 
    shutter to capture the final image.
    • When the Lomo effect is applied, color shift (changes in colors) might occur.
    • You can also other types of Lomo effect to the image or video that you want to 
    capture. See Lomo on page 30.

    Combines a maximum of 4 shots into one single image on a VGA (640 x 480) 
    size, so it can be quickly used in situations such as Internet auctions.
    1. Press   >   > 
    Scene Mode.
    2. Press   or   to enter the submenu.
    3. Press   or   to select 
    Web Auction.
    4. Press   to confirm setting.
    5. Press   or   to move to the number of shots you want to take, and then 
    press .
    6. Press the shutter to take one picture.
    7. If you are satisfied with the picture, press   to take the next one. (If you 
    want to re-take the previous picture, press   and repeat Step 6.)
    8. Once you have finished taking all pictures, the camera will automatically 
    combine these images into one.

    Drive mode
    To select a drive mode:
    1. Press  >  > Drive Mode.
    2. Press   or   to enter the submenu.
    3. Press   or   to select the desired setting.
    4. Press   to confirm the setting.
    AF Area
    To select an automatic focus area:
    1. Press  >  > AF Area.
    2. Press   or   to enter the submenu.
    IconModeDescription
     10 sec / 2 sec 
    (Self-timer)Automatically takes a picture after 10 or 2-
    second delay. This mode is useful when you 
    want to be part of the picture.
    DoublePerforms delay and capture twice:
    Performs a 10-second delay, then captures 
    the image.
    Performs another 2-second delay then 
    captures the image again.
    OffTakes one picture at a time.

    Face TrackingAutomatically detect faces and track faces 
    continuously.
    WideFocuses on a wide range of multiple objects.

    4. Press   to confirm the setting.
    If 
    Object Tracking is selected, move the focus point to the center of the 
    subject and press   to lock the subject (press   again to unlock). The 
    AF tracking feature will now keep tracking the subject even if the subject 
    moves. Once you see the composition you want, half press the shutter to 
    make sure the subject is correctly focused and press the shutter fully to 
    capture the image.
    Setting sharpness, saturation and contrast
    Adjusts how colors appear in the pictures by setting sharpness, saturation, and 
    contrast.
    To set sharpness, saturation, or contrast:
    1. Press   >  , and then select Sharpness, Saturation or Contrast.
    2. Press   or   to enter the submenu.
    3. Press   or   to select 
    High, Normal, or Low.
    4. Press   to confirm the setting.
    Quality
    To select an image quality level:
    1. Press   >   > Quality.
    2. Press   or   to enter the submenu.
    3. Press   or   to select the desired setting.
    4. Press   to confirm the setting.

    Super FineBest image quality with the lowest 
    compression rate. File size is the largest.
    FineBetter image quality with medium 
    compression rate. File size is medium.

    Digital Zoom
    The digital zoom enlarges or shrinks the image using a software process. 
    To select a digital zoom:
    1. Press  >  > Digital Zoom.
    2. Press   or   to enter the submenu.
    3. Press   or   to select the desired setting.
    4. Press   to confirm the setting.
    Date Stamp
    Imprints the date when a picture was taken on the picture itself.
    To set the date stamp:
    1. Press  >  > 
    Date Stamp.
    2. Press   or   to enter the submenu.
    3. Press   or   to select 
    Date, Date & Time, or Off.
    4. Press   to confirm the setting.
    Instant Review
    This feature displays a 1-second preview of the image that has just been 
    captured.
    To set the Instant Review:
    1. Press  >  > 
    Instant Review.
    2. Press   or   to enter the submenu.
    3. Press   or   to select 
    On or Off.

    Wise ZoomReduces the image size, and thus increases 
    the effective zoom length without sacrificing 
    image quality.

    Grid Line
    Displays a framing grid on the LCD screen for taking pictures.
    To set the grid line:
    1. Press   >   > Grid Line.
    2. Press   or   to enter the submenu.

    S.S.F. (Super Shake-Free)
    Reduces blur caused by camera vibration, and thus improves image quality and 
    clearness.
    To set S.S.F.:
    1. Press   >   > S.S.F..
    2. Press   or   to enter the submenu.
    3. Press   or   to select 
    On or Off.
    4. Press   to confirm the setting.
    Continuous AF
    Records videos with auto focus feature.
    To enable Continuous AF:
    1. Press   >   > Continuous AF.
    2. Press   or   to enter the submenu.
    3. Press   or   to select 
    On.
    4. Press   to confirm the setting.
    During instant review, half press the shutter to return to the capture mode.

    Zoom
    Sets the zoom control during video recording. If the feature is enabled, the 
    sound during lens zooming will not be recorded.
    To enable Zoom:
    1. Press  >  > Zoom.
    2. Press   or   to enter the submenu.
    3. Press   or   to select 
    On (Zoom Mute).
    4. Press   to confirm the setting.
    The optical zoom will be disabled if the Zoom setting is set to Off.

    Press   >   to access Setup menu options. Set the necessary settings 
    before you start taking the picture or recording the video clip.

    Sounds StartupSelects the startup sound when the 
    camera is turned on.
    ShutterSets the shutter sound on and off.
    OperationSets the button (excluding shutter) 
    sound on and off.
    Beep VolumeAdjusts the volume of the shutter 
    sound, startup sound, operation sound 
    and playback sound.
    Power Saving [1 min.]For power conservation, the camera 
    automatically enters the standby mode 
    after it has been idle for a period of

    File Numbering [Series]Stores the most recently used file 
    number regardless of deleted files or a 
    change of memory card. This is useful 
    for avoiding the file name duplication 
    when images are downloaded to a 
    computer.

    Reset]Resets file numbering each time the 
    memory card is changed.
    TV Setting TV OutSwitches the video output according to 
    different regional standards. Available 
    settings: 
    •
    NTSC: for America, Japan, Taiwan, and 
    others.
    •
    PA L: for China, Europe, Oceania, and 
    others.
    HDMISets an image resolution for HDMI 
    output. The available settings vary 
    depending on the 
    TV Out setting.
    •If the 
    TV Out is set to NTSC, the 
    available HDMI settings: 
    Auto / 480p / 
    720p / 1080i.
    •If the 
    TV Out is set to PA L, the 
    available HDMI settings: 
    Auto / 576p / 
    720p / 1080i.
    HDMI ControlSets the playback control on the TV.
    •
    On: Operate with the TV remote 
    control.
    •
    Off: Operate with the camera.
     TV Out should be set to either NTSC or PA L depending 
    on your region. For details about which system should be used, 
    check with your local authorities.

    EnglishLCD Brightness [Auto]The LCD brightness is automatically set 
    based on the surrounding environment.

    High]The LCD brightness is increased.

    Normal]The LCD brightness remains at the 
    default value.
    Manage Memory [Format]Formats the internal memory or the 
    memory card.

    Copy to 
    Card
    ]Copies files from the internal memory 
    to the memory card.
    Reset AllResets the entire menu and button operation settings to 
    initial default.
