Basic Operation
The  dial is mainly used for shooting-related settings.
(1)After pressing a 
button, turn the 
< 6 > dial.
When you press a button, its function 
remains on for 6 seconds (9). While 
turning the <
6> dial, look at the setting in 
the LCD panel. When the timer ends or if 
you press the shutter button down halfway, 
the camera will be ready to shoot.
  In this way, you can set the AF mode, 
drive mode, and metering mode and 
select the AF point.

The  dial is mainly used for shooting-related settings and selecting LCD monitor 
items. When you want to use the  dial, set the  switch to  first.
(1)After pressing a button, turn the  dial.
When the camera is ready to shoot and you press a 
button, the buttons function remains on for 6 
seconds (
9). While the function remains active, 
turn the <
5> dial while looking at the LCD panel or 
viewfinder. When the function turns off or if you

By setting various optional settings with the menus, you can set the 
image recording quality, Picture Style, the date/time, Custom Functions, 
etc. While looking at the  LCD monitor, you use the < M> button, 
< 0 > button, and < 5> dial on the camera back to proceed to the next 
step.
The menu screen is color coded for the three menu categories.

1Display the menu.
 Press the < M> button to display 
the menu. To turn off the menu, press 
the button again.
2Select a menu item.
  Turn the < 5> dial to select the menu 
item, then press < 0>.
  Press the < C> button to jump to 
the first item of each menu category.
3Select the menu setting.
  Turn the < 5> dial to select the 
desired setting.
4Set the desired setting.
  Press < 0> to set it.
5Exit the menu.
  Press the < M> button to exit the 
menu display.

The LCD monitor’s interface language can be set to one of fifteen languages.
1Select [Language].

1Select [Date/Time].
 Turn the < 5> dial to select [ c Date/

The date/time (back-up) battery maintains the camera’s date and time 
and its service life is about 5 years. If the date/time is reset when the 
battery is replaced, replace the back-up battery with a new CR2016 
lithium battery as described below.
The date/time setting will also  be reset, so you must set the 
correct date/time.
