    Maintenance
The projector needs little maintenance. You should keep the lens
clean because any dirt or stains will appear on the screen. You will
also need to clean the air filter located at the bottom of the
projector periodically. It is important to keep the air filter clean
because a clogged air filter prevents proper ventilation which is
necessar y to cool the projector and prevent it from overheating.
The only par ts you should replace yourself are the lamp and the air
filter. If any other parts need r eplacing, contact your EMP-7100/
5100 dealer or qualified ser vice personnel.
When cleaning any part of the projector, always switch off and
    unplug the projector first.
    u
Warning: Never open any of the covers on the projector except the
lamp and filter covers. Dangerous electrical voltages inside the
projector can cause severe injury. Except as specifically indicated in
this OwnerÕs Manual, do not attempt to service this product
yourself. Refer all ser vicing to qualified service personnel.

    							725 ¥ Maintenance
    Cleaning the Lens
Clean the lens whenever you notice dirt or dust on the surface. Wipe
the lens surface gently with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth.
To remove dirt or stains on the lens, moisten a soft cloth with water
and a neutral detergent and gently wipe the lens surface.
    Cleaning the Projector Case
To clean the projector case, first unplug the power cable. To remove
dirt or dust, wipe the casing with a soft, dry, lint-fr ee cloth. To
remove stubborn dirt or stains, moisten a soft cloth with water and a
neutral detergent. Then wipe the casing.
Do not use alcohol, benzene, thinners or other chemical detergents
as these can cause the casing to warp.
    Cleaning the Air Filter
The air filter, which is located at the bottom of the projector, should
be cleaned after every 100 hours of use. If it is not cleaned periodi-
cally, it can become clogged with dust and prevent the projector from
being ventilated properly. This can cause overheating and damage the
    projector.
