Using the projector or monitor for a 
presentation
You can configure your convertible notebook so the settings 
are correct each time you give a presentation.
To use a projector or external monitor for a presentation: 
1Press the Mobility Center button . The Windows 
Mobility Center window opens.
2Click or tap (Change presentation settings). The 
Presentation Settings dialog box opens.

Port replicators
Although you can attach devices directly to your convertible 
notebook, a port replicator lets you make all of those 
connections at one time. When you travel with your 
convertible notebook, you merely disconnect from the port 
replicator instead of unplugging all the devices.
A port replicator also provides additional ports and other 
expansion features not included with your convertible

Monitoring the battery charge

Changing batteries
Replacing the main battery
To replace the main battery:  
1Disconnect your convertible notebook from the optional 
port replicator.
2If your convertible notebook is on and is connected to 
AC power or has a charged multibay battery installed, 
go to Step 3.
-OR-
If your convertible notebook is on, is not plugged into 
an AC outlet, and does not have a charged multibay 
battery installed, save your work and turn off the 
convertible notebook.

6Slide the main battery out of the bay.
7Slide a recharged main battery into the bay until it snaps 
into place.
8Slide the battery lock to the locked position.
9Turn your convertible notebook over.

Installing the optional multibay battery
Your convertible notebook’s modular bay accepts a multibay 
battery. The multibay battery charges when the convertible 
notebook is connected to AC power.

Recalibrating the batteries
If your convertible notebook unexpectedly goes into Sleep 
mode while you are using it but the battery charge is not low, 
you may need to recalibrate your batteries. You should also 
recalibrate the batteries periodically to maintain the accuracy 
of the battery gauge.
To recalibrate the batteries:  
1Connect the AC adapter, then turn on your convertible 
notebook.
2As soon as it starts and you see a startup screen, press 
F2. The BIOS Setup utility opens....

Getting the most from your 
batteries
Maximizing battery performance
To get maximum performance from your convertible 
notebook batteries, we recommend that you initially condition 
(fully charge and discharge) your new batteries a few times 
during the first several weeks of use, to let them reach their 
maximum rated capacity.
Over the long term, use the batteries at least once a month, 
even if they were kept in a cool, dry place for storage, but 
avoid frequent full...
