    SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
    This product is for household use only.
    POLARIZED PLUG (USA/MEXICO)
    This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade 
    is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of 
    electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a 
    polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does 
    not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it 
    still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. 
    Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
    GROUNDED PLUG (CANADA)
    As a safety feature, this product is equipped with 
    a grounded plug, which will only fit into a three-
    prong outlet. Do not attempt to defeat this safety 
    feature. Improper connection of the grounding 
    conductor may result in the risk of electric shock. 
    Consult a qualified electrician if you are in doubt 
    as to whether the outlet is properly grounded.TAMPER-RESISTANT SCREW
    Warning: This appliance is equipped with a 
    tamper-resistant screw to prevent removal of 
    the outer cover. To reduce the risk of fire or 
    electric shock, do not attempt to remove the 
    outer cover. There are no user-serviceable 
    parts inside. Repair should be done only by 
    authorized service personnel.

    Getting to Know Your Contact Roaster

    How to Use
    This product is for household use only.
    GETTING STARTED
    •   Remove all packing material, any stickers, and the plastic band around t\
    he 
    power plug.
    •  Remove and save literature.
    •  Please go to www.prodprotect.com/applica to register your warranty.
    •  Wash removable parts and/or accessories as instructed in CARE AND 
    CLEANING. 
    •  Make sure appliance is OFF.
    •  Wipe inside of Contact Roaster and cooking surfaces with a damp cloth to\
     
    remove all dust. 
    •   Select a location on your countertop where 
    unit is to be used, allowing enough space from 
    back of appliance and wall to allow heat to flow 
    without damage to cabinets and walls.
    •  Place drip tray under front section of bottom 
    cooking plate of Contact Roaster (C). 
    Note: Aerosol cooking spray should not be used 
    on nonstick surface. The use of aerosol sprays can 
    cause a build up on cooking plate surfaces and 
    reduce cooking efficiency.
    COOKING
    1.  Make sure size of meat or poultry to be roasted fits into Contact Roas\
    ter before 
    preheating.
    2.  Plug Contact Roaster into a standard electrical outlet.
    3.  Press power ON/OFF button 
    () above the digital display; “5” will appear in 
    digital display and will alternate with “PH” (preheat).  Timer will count down for 
    5 minutes while preheating occurs.
    Note: For best results, preheat or cook with lid closed.
    4.  When preheating is complete, there will be an audible signal and “ON”\
     will 
    appear on the digital display.
    Note: If desired cooking time is not entered, there will be a periodic audibl\
    e signal 
    that Contact Roaster is ON and ready to cook.
    5.  Using pot holders, carefully open lid and insert food to be cooked.
    Note: Use only heatproof plastic or wooden utensils when placing or removing 
    food from Contact Roaster to avoid scratching nonstick surface.  Do not \
    use metal 
    tipped tongs, forks or knives; these can damage the nonstick surface.
    6.  Close lid. Set timer by pressing timer up (+) button until desired tim\
    e appears 
    on digital display. Timer can be set to a maximum of 199 minutes (D).

    Note: Use suggested cooking times found in 
    COOKING CHART.
    7. Timer can be adjusted at any time during cooking 
    by pressing “+” or “-” buttons.
    8.  Allow food to cook for desired time.  
    Caution: Do not leave appliance unattended 
    during use.
       9. During cooking, the digital display will count down 
    from the initial set time. At end of cooking time, there 
    will be an audible signal. Display will alternately flash 
    “00” and "ON" as a reminder the power is on. Power ON indicator wi\
    ll remain on 
    until power ON/Off button 
    () is pressed. 
    10.  There will be an audible signal every 5 minutes until the Contact Roaste\
    r is 
    turned off. 
    11.  Check food for doneness by using a meat thermometer. If necessary, reset 
    timer for additional time and check periodically to avoid overcooking.
    12.  Using a potholder, carefully raise lid to allow steam to escape at the sides 
    before fully opening. 
    13.  When cooking is complete, press power ON/OFF button 
    () and unplug.
    Important: Heat continues to be ON until power ON/OFF button 
    () is pressed or 
    appliance is unplugged.
    14.  Using tongs with plastic heat-resistant tips or wooden utensils, careful\
    ly 
    remove food from Contact Roaster.
    15.  Allow drip tray to cool before removing from under Contact Roaster. Wash 
    and dry drip tray after each use.
    16.  Thoroughly clean interior of Contact Roaster after each use, following 
    directions in CARE AND CLEANING.
    USING THE MULTI-PURPOSE BAKING PAN
    Note: Use multi-purpose baking pan for foods containing liquids and for baked\
     goods. 1. Fill multi-purpose baking pan up to three-
    quarters full and insert into Contact Roaster (E).
    2.  Follow steps 2 – 13 in COOKING.
    3.  Cook according to recipe directions. Test 
    for doneness. If necessary, reset timer for 
    additional time and check periodically to avoid 
    overcooking.
    4.  When finished cooking, use pot holders to 
    remove pan to wire rack. 
    Note: Do not place multi-purpose baking pan directly on counter or table top.\
       
    Use a trivet or heat-resistant table cover.
    5.  Press power ON/OFF 
    () button and unplug appliance.

    SUGGESTED COOKING CHART
    The following chart is meant to be used as a guideline only. Cooking time will 
    depend on the thickness of the food. To be sure your food is cooked, USDA 
    recommends using a meat thermometer to test for doneness. Insert the 
    thermometer into the thickest part of the meat until temperature stabili\
    zes.

    CONTACT ROASTER TIPS
    • To prevent heat loss and for even cooking, do not open lid frequently.
    •  Do not overfill your roaster.
    •  When first cooking a particular food, check for doneness several minut\
    es 
    before suggested time; if necessary, adjust the timer.
    •  For added flavor, add dry seasonings or marinate foods before cooking.

    Care and Cleaning
    CLEANING
    Caution: To avoid accidental burns, allow Contact Roaster to cool thoroughly 
    before cleaning.
    1. Before cleaning, unplug from wall outlet and allow to cool.
    Important: Heat continues to be ON until power ON/OFF button 
    () is pressed or 
    appliance is unplugged.
    2.  Place drip tray under front of roaster. Use plastic spatula to scrape off any 
    excess fat and food particles left on cooking plates. 
    3.  Use a warm, soapy sponge to wipe cooking plates clean and allow any grea\
    sy 
    runoff to drip into drip tray; rinse sponge and wipe again to remove any\
     soapy 
    residue. Dry thoroughly with an absorbent paper towel.
    4.  Empty drip tray and wash in warm, soapy water or place in top rack of 
    dishwasher. Dry thoroughly with a paper towel. 
    5.  To remove stubborn buildup, use a nylon or nonmetallic scrubbing pad to c\
    lean 
    interior of your roaster.
    Important: Do not use metallic scrubbing pads, steel wool or any abrasiv\
    e 
    cleaners to clean any part of Contact Roaster; use only nylon or nonmeta\
    llic 
    scrubbing pads.
    6.  To clean roaster exterior, wipe with a warm, damp sponge and dry with a soft, 
    dry cloth.
    Important: Do not immerse body of roaster in water or any other liquid.
    7.  Any servicing requiring disassembly other than the above cleaning must b\
    e 
    performed by a qualified electrician.
    Caution: Make sure to hold roaster lid while cleaning to prevent acciden\
    tal 
    closing and injury.
    STORAGE
    Always make sure roaster is clean and dry before storing. The multi-purp\
    ose 
    baking pan and drip tray can be stored inside the roaster. Wind the cord around 
    the cord wrap at the back of the roaster.

    RECIPES
    FLANK STEAK WITH BLUE CHEESE FILLING
    Servings: 4
    Ingredients
    1 lb. flank steak
    3/4 cup western salad dressing, divided
    1/2 cup blue cheese crumbles
    ½ stick (4 Tbsp.) butter, melted
    Directions
    Marinate steak and ½ cup dressing in a large resealable plastic stora\
    ge bag. Let 
    stand at room temperature 1 hour, turning bag over once during standing time.
    Remove steak from bag and lay flat on cutting board. Sprinkle blue che\
    ese evenly 
    on top of steak, pressing cheese gently into meat. Roll up steak jelly-r\
    oll fashion 
    and tie at 2 inch intervals with kitchen twine.
    Preheat the George Foreman®
     Contact Roaster 5 min.
    Brush surface of steak with remaining western dressing and place in cont\
    act 
    roaster, seam side down. Set timer and cook 10 min.
    Open lid and carefully turn steak over. Set timer and cook an additional 10 min. or 
    until desired doneness.
    Remove steak from roaster. Cover loosely with aluminum foil and allow meat to 
    rest 5-10 min. before slicing.
    DOUBLE CHEESE AND CHILI OMELET
    Servings: 4
    Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. butter
    6 eggs
    ¼ cup milk ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
    4 slices American cheese
    1 cup prepared chili
    Directions
    Preheat the George Foreman Contact Roaster with baking pan in place.
    Beat eggs in medium size bowl. Stir in milk and shredded cheese.
    Pour egg mixture into preheated baking pan, close lid and set timer for \
    10 min. 
    Cook 5 min. then gently stir egg mixture with a rubber spatula. Continue cooking 5 
    min. longer or until eggs are set.
    Top eggs with cheese slices and warm chili. Let stand 2-3 min. before serving to 
    allow cheese to melt.

    UPSIDE DOWN ROASTED CHICKEN
    Servings: 4 
    Ingredients
    1  (4 lb.) roast chicken, rinsed and 
    patted dry
    2 Tbs. butter, softened
    ½ Tbsp. fresh minced rosemary ½ Tbsp. fresh minced parsley
    Salt and pepper to taste
    1 lemon, cut in half
    Directions
    Preheat the contact roaster.
    Mix butter, parsley and rosemary in small bowl. Rub the butter mixture evenly 
    over the chicken; season with salt and pepper.
    Cut lemon in half and squeeze the juice of one half lemon over the chick\
    en. Place 
    both lemon halves inside the chicken cavity.
    Place chicken, breast side down, directly on the surface of the roaster. Set timer 
    and roast, covered, 20 min.
    Turn chicken over by inserting sturdy tongs into the cavity and flippin\
    g it. 
    Set timer and continue roasting an additional 40 min. or until done (mi\
    n. 165°F)
    Remove chicken from roaster, loosely tent with foil and allow chicken to rest 15 
    min. before carving and serving.
    COLORFUL STUFFED PEPPERS 
    Servings: 4
    Ingredients
    ½ cup raisins
    ¼ cup apple cider 
    1 small onion, chopped
    ½ cup red sweet bell pepper, diced 
    3 Tbsp. butter ½ tsp. celery salt
    1 Tbsp. parsley
    ½ c. shredded Parmesan cheese
    3 cups prepared white and wild rice mix
    4 large or 6 small red bell peppers
    Directions
    Soak raisins in apple cider for 15 min.
    Meanwhile, sauté onion, diced peppers and butter in large skillet 5 m\
    inutes or 
    until onions are translucent. Add raisin mixture, celery salt, and parsley and 
    Parmesan cheese. Continue to cook until cider liquid has evaporated. Rem\
    ove 
    from heat; stir in rice.
    Prepare peppers by cutting around the stem to form a lid. Scoop out seed\
    s and ribs.
    Carefully cut a thin slice off the bottom of peppers so each pepper stan\
    ds up.
    Fill each pepper with rice mixture being careful not to pack rice tightl\
    y.
    Preheat the contact roaster and place filled peppers directly on the s\
    urface of 
    the roaster. Set timer and cook 30 minutes or until peppers are tender.
