General
Congratulations on your ownership of an Ademco Partitioned Security System. Youve
made a wise decision in choosing it, for it represents the latest in security protection
technology today. Ademco is the worlds largest manufacturer of security systems and
millions of premises are protected by Ademco systems.

Burglary
ProtectionYour system provides four modes of burglary protection:  STAY, AWAY, INSTANT and
MAXIMUM, and allows you to BYPASS selected zones while leaving the rest of the
system armed. You must turn on or arm the burglary protection portion of your
system before it will sense burglary alarms. The system also provides a CHIME mode,
for alerting users to the opening of protected doors and windows while the system is

Alarms
When an alarm occurs, both the keypad and external sounders will sound, and the
keypad will display the zone(s) causing the alarm. If your system is connected to a
central monitoring station, an alarm message will also be sent. To stop the alarm
sounding, simply disarm the system.
Memory of Alarm
When an alarm condition occurs, the keypad displays the number(s) of the zone(s) that
caused the problem, and displays the type of alarm (ex. FIRE, ALARM). It remains

ENTRY/EXIT DELAYS
General
InformationYour system has preset time delays, known as exit delay and entry delay. Whenever
you arm your system, exit delay gives you time to leave through the designated exit
door without setting off an alarm. Exit delay begins immediately after entering any
arming command, and applies to all modes of arming protection. If programmed, a
slow beeping will sound throughout the exit delay period.

To minimize false alarmssent to the alarmmonitoring company,your system may havebeen pro grammed forthis feature. Ask yourinstaller if Exit Alarm isactive for your system.

Whenever you arm the system, the exit delay begins. If an entry/exit door or interior zone is
faulted when the exit delay ends (e.g., exit door left open), the system sounds an alarm and

IMPORTANT: If the key-pad beeps rapidly uponentering the  premises, itindicates that an alarmhas occurred duringyour absence and anintruder may still be onthe premises. LEAVEIMMEDIATELY andCONTACT THE POLICEfrom a nearby safelocation.
