    Direct Printing with PictBridge Printer
    If your printer is compatible with PictBridge,PictBridge, still images can be printed easily by connecting the camcorder directly to the printer with the USB cable. DPOF setting can also be used. (Z pg.  40)
    Preparation:Close the LCD monitor to turn off the camcorder.
    START/STOP
    1Open the LCD monitor to turn on the camcorder.
    2Select [DIRECT PRINT].

    To Print by Selecting a Still Image
    After performing steps 1-2 (Z left column)
    3Select [SELECTED PRINT].
    4Select the desired image.
    5Select the desired setting.
    • [NUMBER OF PRINTS]: The number of prints can be set from 1 to 99.• [DATE]: Set whether to print the date and time.
    6Select [PRINT].
    L To stop printing after printing starts
    1)   Select [STOP].
    2)    When [QUIT PRINTING?] appears, 
    select [YES].

    To Print Using the DPOF Settings
    If the printer is compatible with DPOF, you can use the DPOF settings. (Z pg.  40)
    After performing steps 1-2 (Z pg. 41)
    3Select [DPOF PRINT].
    4Select [PRINT].
    L To stop printing after printing has already started
    1)   Select [STOP].
    2)    When [QUIT PRINTING?] appears, 
    select [YES].
    L To confirm the DPOF settingIn step 4, select [CHECK SETTINGS]. To return to the previous screen, select @.
    NOTES
    •  If the printer is not recognized, disconnect the USB cable, then reconnect it.• You cannot return to the previous screen while operating Direct print. If you want to redo the operation, remove the USB cable, turn the camcorder off, and start the operation again from the beginning.

    Copying Files
    Types of Copying and Connectable Device
    DVD Burner(CU-VD3)You can copy video files recorded on this camcorder onto DVD discs. (Z right column)
    VCR/DVD RecorderYou can dub video files recorded on this camcorder onto DVD discs. (Z pg.  47)
    PCYou can copy video/still image files on this camcorder onto your PC. (Z pg.  48 to 58)
    Using a DVD Burner to Copy Files from the Camcorder!
    Supported discs: 12cm DVD-R, DVD-RW
    • Regarding DVD-R discs, only unused DVD-R discs can be used. Regarding DVD-RW discs, used DVD-RW discs can also be used, but they need to be formatted before recording. Formatting a disc deletes all content recorded on the disc up until that time.• Dual-layer discs cannot be used.
    Regarding finalization after copying
    The disc is automatically finalized so that it can be played on other devices. After finalizing, the disc is a play-only disc, so no more files can be added.
    Connection with a DVD Burner
    Preparation:Close the LCD monitor to turn off the camcorder.

    • Use the USB cable that came with the DVD burner.• It is recommended to use the AC Adapter as the power supply instead of the battery pack.

    Copying Files (Continued)
    Making a Backup of All Files
    Preparation:• Connect the camcorder to the DVD burner. (Z  pg.  43)• Slide the mode switch to select ! mode.
    1Select [CREATE FROM ALL].
    2Select the desired menu.
    • [ALL SCENES]: All files in the SD card are copied.• [UNSAVED SCENES]: Files that have never been copied to a DVD disc are automatically selected and copied.
    3Select the desired menu.
    • The files are copied on the disc. When [COMPLETED] appears, touch the OK button.• When [COMPLETED. CHANGE DISC] appears, change the disc. Remaining files are copied on the second disc.• To cancel copying, select [STOP].
    Copying Video Files that Have Never Been Copied
    Files that have never been copied to the DVD discs are automatically selected and copied.
    1Open the LCD monitor to turn on the camcorder.
    2Press the DIRECT DVD button.

    • The DVD disc begins to be created. When [COMPLETED] appears, touch the OK button.• When [COMPLETED. CHANGE DISC] appears, change the disc. The second DVD disc begins to be created.• To cancel the DVD creation, select [STOP].

    Selecting Files for Backup
    Preparation:• Connect the camcorder to the DVD burner. (Z  pg.  43)• Slide the mode switch to select ! mode.
    1Select [SELECT AND CREATE].
    2Select the desired menu.
    • [CREATE BY DATE]: Files are sorted according to the date on which they were recorded. Relevant files are displayed in a list. Select the recording date, and touch the OK button.
    • [CREATE BY EVENT]: Files are sorted according to event. Relevant files are displayed in a list. Select the event, and touch the OK button.
    • [CREATE BY PLAYLIST]: Files are sorted according to playlist. The selected playlists are displayed in a list.
    1)   Select the desired list, and touch the 
    OK button.
    2)   Select the insertion point and select 
    }. To select other lists, repeat steps 1) – 2).
    3)   Select [SAVE].
    • [SELECT FROM SCENES]: Select files individually.
    1)  Select the desired file, and touch the 
    OK button. 
    2)   Select the insertion point and select 
    }. To select other files, repeat steps 1) – 2).
    3)   Select [SAVE].
    3Select the desired disc number.
    • If you select [ALL], all discs in the list are created.• To preview scenes, select [CHECK]. When the index screen of individual scenes appears, select the file, and touch the OK button. To return to previous screen, select @.•  mark shows that the disc is created already.
    4Select [EXECUTE].
    • A disc begins to be created. When [COMPLETED] appears, touch the OK button.• When [COMPLETED. CHANGE DISC] appears, change the disc. The second disc begins to be created.• To cancel the disc creation, select [STOP].
    L To quit the screen
    1)   Select [QUIT].
    2)    When [QUIT?] appears, select [YES].
    NOTEWhen executing [CREATE BY PLAYLIST], date/time on the file information display shows the date of copying the file, instead of the actual recording date.
    L To duplicate a discThe last creation date is displayed. (Up to 20 files)
    1)   In step 1 (Z left column), select [CREATE DUPLICATE].
    2)   Select the date and touch the OK button, then go to step 4.
    L To check whether the DVD disc was created properlyIn step 1 (Z  left column), select [PLAYBACK], and touch the OK button.

    L To play back the created disc using the camcorder
    1)   Connect the camcorder to the DVD 
    burner. (Z pg.  43)
    2)    To view the disc on TV, connect the 
    camcorder to TV. (Z pg.  32)

    Turn on the camcorder.
    4)   Select [PLAYBACK].
    5)   Select the desired folder.
    6)   Select the creation date of the disc.
    7)   Select the desired file. To return to the 
    previous screen, select @.
    L Disc numberDisc number shows the number of DVD discs you can create. The dubbing range of each disc is automatically allocated, presuming that all the files are to be dubbed from the first one on the list. This dubbing range cannot be changed.E.g.) “DVD1” can contain two files, “JAN.01.2008” and “JAN.15.2008”.

    Using a VCR/DVD Recorder to Dub Files from the Camcorder!
    Preparation:Turn off all units.
    1Set the VCR/DVD recorder to its AUX input mode.
    2Start playback on the camcorder.
    • To play back videos (Z  pg.  28)• To play back playlists (“When dubbing playlists using a VCR/DVD recorder” Z  pg.  38)
    3At the point you want to start dubbing, start recording on the VCR/DVD recorder.
    Refer to the VCR/DVD recorder’s instruction manual.
    L To stop dubbingStop recording on the VCR/DVD recorder, then press the START/STOP button again.
    NOTETo record only the date information among the display indications, set [DISPLAY ON TV] to [ON], and touch the OK button until date/time indication appears. (Z  pg.  64)

    Software Installation
    The following software is included in the CD-ROM that came with your camcorder.
    • PowerCinema NE for Everio The main file managing software. You can perform various operations such as file backup, playback, upload and DVD authoring.
      Scroll right or left to focus on a function, and select the function by clicking on the picture.L Browse Videos:    Plays back video files on the PC (Z pg.  54)L Browse Pictures:    Plays back still image files on the PC (Z pg.  54)L Advanced Functions:    Copies/deletes files on the PC/uploads files to YouTubeL Create DVD:    Creates a DVD-Video (Z pg.  55)L	Direct DVD:    Burns files that are camcorder files onto a DVDL Backup:     Backs up camcorder files onto the PC (Z pg.  51)L Settings:    You can perform detailed settings for each item.L Help:    Displays operating procedure for each function. (internet connection is required)
    • Digital Photo Navigator 1.5 Allows you to change the format of still image files backed up on your PC.

    Preparation:Quit any other software you are using. (Check that there are no other application icons on the status bar.)
    1Load the provided CD-ROM into the PC.
    After a moment, the [SETUP] screen appears. If the [SETUP] screen does not appear, double-click the CD-ROM icon in [My Computer].
    2Click [Easy Installation].
    If you want to specify the type of software to install or the installation destination folder etc., select [Custom Installation].Follow the instructions on the screen to install the software.
    3Click [Yes].
    4Select the desired language and click [OK].

    The backup destination folder [MyWorks] for files is created on the hard disk drive that has the most free space.
