A visionary experience 
The LC4602e’s widescreen liquid crystal display (LCD) 
produces an extra bright image (500cd/m2) for perfect
viewing enjoyment even in sunlight. This type of display
works by having a liquid crystal solution between two sheets
of polarized glass. An electric current causes the crystal i
n a
particular pixel to align and block light, switching the cur rent
off allows light to pass through again. With a pixel response
of 6 milliseconds a dynamic TV picture can be built up in
crisp vivid colors that rivals conventional CRT TVs. And of
course, LCD TVs are much thinner and more energy efficient
than CRTs too.  
A conventional TV image is interlaced, where each ‘frame’ is 
built up from two interlaced image fields that are viewed
simultaneously. However, when viewing interlaced video on 
non-interlaced TVs (like LCD) that display the interlaced
images sequentially, an artifacts known as ‘tear’ is visibl e.
Tearing is due to both fields showing the object moving at 
slightly different times. The Marantz LC4602e has a motion
compensated de-interlacer that merges the two fields to
faithfully reproduce the original frame without unpleasan t
motion artifacts. 
Behind the scenes, advanced digital image processing 
algorithms optimize picture quality, leaving you free to en joy
the ultimate viewing experience. Digital Color Transient
Improvement (DCTI) reduces color smear at the vertical edge s
of bright colored areas on the TV image whereas Digital
Luminance Transient Improvement (DLTI) enhances con tour 
detail in scenes for a sharper, more natural picture.
